After weeks of PAIN they deceided on having a MRI which showed that I had torn tendons and ligaments in my wrist, the surgery was done on july 2nd of this year a went thru therpy and i still have a lot of pain in the wrist with movement.
Avatar n tn s advice, you need to be in some sort of physical therapy to strenghten and improve flexibility of muscles related to your spine. Also, if your accident was fairly recent, you need to rest a lot, so not being able to get out of bed is your body trying to tell you something. You also need to be on some sort of medicine, either pain killers or antispasmodics, to help control the discomfort you are experiencing in your back, since the shots are not enough.
Avatar m tn i'm taking a stab in the dark here (no pun intended). i was diagnosed with a fractured coccyx two years ago. no x-rays were taken. this was my doctor making an educated guess. he set me up for physical therapy, which i went through for a few weeks, and the pain subsided within that amount of time. this is the part i cannot explain: i am a drummer and i have never had a problem with stamina or flexibility in either of my legs.
Avatar m tn Every part of my body has hurt at one time or the other. I am trying to get the flexibility back to my foot, but I still experience swelling. My foot is fatter, but as long as I have the possiblity of being mobile, I'm much happier. I am very active, so this is very difficult. I'm wondering how long one might expect recovery from this type of injury??? My doctor indicated possibly a year. Is that accurate? Any suggestions to promote flexibility to promote stair climbing???
Avatar m tn I am very active and cycle about 5 hours a week and about 5 hours a week of more weight bearing exercise. I have not been able to regain full flexibility to the knee, I am lacking 10 degrees of motion. I ice my knee most every day after exercising. I completed a series of 3 shots of Euflexxa about 6 weeks ago and have felt no difference from that. I started physical therapy twice a week for the last three weeks which lasts about 1.
Avatar f tn The injury that was sustained 6 years back (ATFL sprain) is healed and is not related to the other findings on the MRI. It is these other findings that are likely to be causing the pain. It may not always be an acute injury that may be responsible, but can also result from chronic/ constant minor trauma to the region or other pathological/ degenerative processes involving the connective tissue.
Avatar n tn I went to Orthopedic Doc who diagnosed me with Os Trigonum Injury. Put cortisteroid shot in front of ankle where swelling was and put another shot into outer heel. I am in an air walker boot for now. The problem is pain is still there, not as bad as first. But now my other ankle is doing the exact same thing on other side. Pain around outer ankle and heel, also have this bone sticking out a little and hurts. Could this happen Bilateral this kind of injury?

Avatar m tn Working with a chiropractor, I got a hip flexor malady adjusted; the PT said I needed to work on flexibility. My left leg kind of 'hangs/float' and doesn't extend out normally. I feel it even when I'm walking. The odd part is that I can't really self-correct it with mental striving. I'm thinking it's more than just bad flexibility - wondering if I'm not really neurologically talking to my lower leg?
Avatar f tn I am a 58 year old man, very active in very good shape. Retired from a police department. Due to an injury I am set to have complete wrist fusion. I weight lift, run, horseback ride, garden, landscape and a million other to do's. Is this the correct surgery for me???
Avatar m tn and there can be several reasons for a narrowing. I am going to assume you are referring to atherosclerosis here? and I have to say there is unfortunately no current medications which remove the plaque from arteries.
Avatar m tn m not sure whether the pain in my wrist and the flexibility issues are related. Anybody knows what medical conditions do i have because my doctor diagnosed me patellofemoral pain syndrome which im sure its wrong ?
Avatar f tn s defense to avoid tearing of your own joints and muscles. This can cause the muscle to be less responsive to length change and more sensitive to pressure and touch. Static stretching, increases your risk of injury and does not promote flexibility. The American Council on Exercise warns against stretching cold muscles, promoting warm-up activities before stretching.
Avatar f tn keep a cold compress on it, perhaps keep it well elevated, too. Both steps are to reduce blood pressure worsening congestion, reducing that ought to help assist healing. A local sports' specialist dealing in boxing injuries may be of better assistance. You might do well to consult a doctor (but I suspect there's not a lot that can be done, other than an x-ray to check to see if you've actually broken a bone).
Avatar f tn What i am able to understand that you had small arthritis and due to the injury, the arthritis exaggerated and also resulted in a meniscal injury. Now this meniscal injury at this stage is crucial. Because it's the treating doctor's judgement. If money is not a problem, then the best way is to go for a "Diagnositc Arthroscopy" along with knee debridement where minor arthritis changes can be shapened for a picture perfect knee joint.
Avatar f tn Stretching isn't the best way to improve flexibility—lifting weights through a full range of motion is, according to a recent study at the University of North Dakota. Pausing for 2 to 3 seconds at the "down" position of the lift (where you feel the stretch) without relaxing your muscles is even more effective.
1956656 tn?1325011931 My guess would be that at birth the fontanelle-what gives flexibility to the babies head so it comes out easier- never closed up properly, probably because of genetic factors that control osteogenesis. If you have other skeletal or bone issues or you are of a small frame, it would be consistent with this. Any inflammatory (interior damage) or injury (external damage) in this area would cause an immune response, probably by getting calcium molecules from the blood circulation deposited there.
Avatar m tn By addressing the unique needs of each individual, physical therapists play a vital role in restoring health, function, and quality of life, enabling individuals to live life to the fullest. Avatar m tn Sometimes an unusual alignment of the kneecap is responsible. For older adults, patellofemoral pain may be related to arthritis of the knee joint — which causes cartilage to lose its normal shock-absorbing ability. Weak thigh and hip muscles or flat feet also may contribute to the pain. Even something as simple as worn-out or ill-fitting shoes can contribute to patellofemoral pain.
Avatar f tn But the true triggers were mostly food related. They can have all sorts of triggers. Try to keep a log of what proceeds the to see if you can see any patter yourself. I cut out the things that were associated to this food sensitivity that I had and honestly, I'm pretty much migraine free. I had the kind you describe where I could feel it coming . . . I'd get a weird feeling, then be sensitive to light and sound and then it would hit and I was on the floor.
Avatar f tn He may for instance start having trouble with his legs due to the back injury and that needs to be told to the Drs immediately. Good luck and I hope you all are doing well.
