Common Questions and Answers about Flexibility jump higher

flexibility

Avatar f tn One study performed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill showed that subjects who performed dynamic warm-ups had higher performance in the vertical jump test than those who just did standard stretching. Dynamic flexibility, which is moving your muscles and joints within your full range of motion repetitively, should be performed before weightlifting because it stimulates higher neural activity and increases tissue elasticity.
Avatar m tn Usually the main predictors of aortic dissection are family history, aortic size, and aortic flexibility. For someone of your aortic size, I would take it easy. Try the ARB approach with a max or ultra-max high dosage (as long as your doctor lets you) and see if that reduces aortic size and aortic flexibility (the "pulse pressure" is one way to estimate the flexibility - Google it). If so, then perhaps you can talk to your doctor about athletics.
Avatar f tn With my first I showed right away, but I also ate everything in sight. I had some morning sickness with this one, and just now had to switch to maternity pants and I'm 20w today. I'm more active this time around and I think maybe I'm carrying higher.
Avatar n tn A normal resting heart rate is 60-80, but there's flexibility in those numbers. As for standing heart rate - I think it would depend on the person. 120 is probably too high, 50 is probably too low.
Avatar f tn Hopefully your next set of labs will go up higher. Unfortunatly the only thing you can do is wait to find out the results. Good luck.
Avatar m tn I have been sore right around both of my gluteus Maximus muscles since December. The muscle is very tight and seems to be restricting the movement of my lower lumbar. It's uncomfortable to sit even for short periods of time as there is a dull pain from my glutes down the back of my legs. I have been to a spinal PT and I temporarily felt better but not much. He focused only on my spine and said my movement was very limited for a 27 year old.
214105 tn?1265935159 Many studies demonstrate a higher healing rate with non-surgical treatment. The complication rate, particularly nerve entrapment is also lower. However, as you have noted, the risk of deformity is greater, although 9 degrees is not significant.
Avatar n tn I am not an expert on this but acupuncture helps relax muscles and improve the circulation in the area thereby causes flushing of the pain modulators. It improves movement and flexibility. Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history.
432737 tn?1358549432 The dip u mentioned on 7 DPO might be the implantation dip esp if the temps go higher after the dip. However sometimes (atleast for me) ..temps used to nose dive on the day of my period. So hang in there.. its just one more day and then u can know for sure. If u need to chart I recommend u checking out fertilityfriend.com ... Good luck and keep me posted.

Avatar f tn An EF is an estimation of the amount of blood pumped with each stroke. It is not static and will vary from heartbeat to heartbeat just as heartrate and blood pressure, the variations help maintain a balance of blood flow between the left and right side For the EF to increase the heart's output of blood, the left venticle dilates and that causes stronger contractions. The mechanism for the is phenomonon is the Frank/Starling law of physics.
Avatar m tn Keep monitoring every 6 months to make sure your numbers do not jump up any higher on the ALT and the HBV DNA. If they stay around the same, then chances are that you will not need treatment and just need to live a healthy lifestyle (ex. stay away from all alcohol, fried foods, etc.) A 10 pt jump in ALT is not that much, even if it is higher than normal range. I'd be more concerned if it was in the hundreds or even thousands.
Avatar n tn has that brought a refreshing flexibility while affording me spontaneity in exercise and eating and ... simply sleeping in! What do you think? Are you a pumper? Might you be interested in pumping, which is MUCH less invasive & risky than surgery but which does free up some of the mental math pressures? I've been pumping for about 9 years and each "generation" of pump has been a big advance.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar n tn Before tx my ALT was 28, then started to rise- 37, 58. 76 an this last one 86, so it has been a signifigant jump since the start of tx. As for my AST I apologize they are still fine I am no longer sure what else I was looking at yesterday- I think I may be loosing my mind- shocker hu! As for a second opinion I am stuck in the wonderfull world of Kaiser- an HMO and pretty much am stuck with what I got.
Avatar f tn Stretching isn't the best way to improve flexibility—lifting weights through a full range of motion is, according to a recent study at the University of North Dakota. Pausing for 2 to 3 seconds at the "down" position of the lift (where you feel the stretch) without relaxing your muscles is even more effective.
Avatar m tn first off coming off 6mg of sub is not recommended you need to taper down to around 2mg or less to make it doable we have watched others do it at higher doses and it ant pritty the withdrawals are long and hard lasting well into 2 to 3 weeks at higher doses even doing it correctly is uncomfortable...we have had several members jump off at 2mg and go threw the withdrawal successfully but at 6mg your really pushing it and I can assure you it wont be over in 9 days.....
700000 tn?1231287536 t lose any strength in the arm but did lose ALOT of flexibility. I still was able to go on to play college Division 1A football as a defensive end for another 5 years. The only problem I have is that it is kind of a bummer in that without the flexibility in my wrist, some of my basketball and martial arts activities that I participate in currently are limited. I still live a normal life as an engineer and go to the gym 5 - 6 times per week and never feel any pain except on REALLY cold days.
Avatar m tn I am very active and cycle about 5 hours a week and about 5 hours a week of more weight bearing exercise. I have not been able to regain full flexibility to the knee, I am lacking 10 degrees of motion. I ice my knee most every day after exercising. I completed a series of 3 shots of Euflexxa about 6 weeks ago and have felt no difference from that. I started physical therapy twice a week for the last three weeks which lasts about 1.
Avatar m tn If you can understand that with increasing age the flexibility decreases and you can regain that with much practice and concentration. You need to strengthen your feet with proper exercise and control over a period of time, we are sure you can do better than what you are doing now and under a good trainer. Take care!

Avatar n tn I have a bulging L5 - S1 that has been causing problems for just over a year now. I've had 4 epidurals, and have been taking pain pills daily. About 6 month ago I started getting really bad upper back spasms, I had an MRI, CT Scan, and Ultra Sound that all came back clear. I got another epidural about a month ago and the back spasms went away (they are starting to come back as the epidural is wearing off).
Avatar m tn Thanks you all for commenting, I did do an EKG about 4 months ago along with a heart echo..EKG showed thickness but said it was normal with athletes or very active people. Then the heart echo showed no thickening. I believe I do have a level of anxiety cause I feel chest pain a lot, discomfort breathing a lot, and this didn't happen until after all this and being diagnosed with high blood pressure. I'm only 22 yrs old, I don't drink or smoke or have caffeinated drinks.
