Common Questions and Answers about Flexibility in time

flexibility

Avatar m tn 3 years is a long time for break in Gymnastics. If you can understand that with increasing age the flexibility decreases and you can regain that with much practice and concentration. You need to strengthen your feet with proper exercise and control over a period of time, we are sure you can do better than what you are doing now and under a good trainer. Take care!
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar n tn She says when she stands or sits for any length of time, her foot hurts and she must lay down to relieve the pain. The doctor said this is typical because of blood rushing to the foot and recommended putting the support sock on. Has anyone else experienced this? Everyone is impressed with her flexibility and she's doing her exercises regularly but this pain has really gotten her concerned and regrets getting the surgery. How long can she expect this pain to stay? Thank you.
Avatar f tn If you have some flexibility in when you can take the pill I would do so in the same manner as if it were a supplement and wait the recommended four hours after taking your thyroid medication. It would probably be helpful for you to go to Synthroid's website and read through some of their info - including the 'Prescribing Information' page. Congratulation on getting through the surgery you did. Good luck.

Avatar m tn There was no need for any chemo or radiation since the tumor was well encapsulated. He engaged in all follow up tests and recent routine tests were all normal except his abdominal CT Scan showed some swelling in his bladder lining. All urine tests were normal - no signs of blood or infection...no sense of urgency to urinate or anything else unusual.
Avatar n tn Has your wrist/watchband become snug? As that could cutoff some blood circulation to your hand and contribute to numbness. Are you left handed, and/or use your fingers quite a bit? Overuse, especially involving harsh vibration like keyboarding, can lead to knuckle damage (osteoarthritic joints are very painful but they usually are easy to spot as they're also swollen). Does heat somewhat relieve your finger pain?
1337734 tn?1336234591 I had an eval when I started to determine a baseline. I am so excited because for the first Time in 3 years I showed significant progress in balance, strength an flexibility!!! Yay! :) go Gilenya!
Avatar m tn I had surgery over 10 months ago for a lateral meniscus tear in my knee. This is the second surgery I have had on this same knee. The previous surgery I had a medial meniscus tear about 5 years ago. I am very active and cycle about 5 hours a week and about 5 hours a week of more weight bearing exercise. I have not been able to regain full flexibility to the knee, I am lacking 10 degrees of motion. I ice my knee most every day after exercising.
Avatar m tn Hi Brad, I agree with nickppatel re the leg activity in water polo. I played water polo for 6 years in my late teens to early twenties (then joined the military) and I have a full understanding on the amount of leg work required just to play water polo, let alone being the goalie.

1956656 tn?1325011931 My guess would be that at birth the fontanelle-what gives flexibility to the babies head so it comes out easier- never closed up properly, probably because of genetic factors that control osteogenesis. If you have other skeletal or bone issues or you are of a small frame, it would be consistent with this. Any inflammatory (interior damage) or injury (external damage) in this area would cause an immune response, probably by getting calcium molecules from the blood circulation deposited there.
Avatar f tn You must eat on a fixed schedule and fixed amount of carbs, protein and fat, with mixed insulins. If you do not eat on time you will go low. Basically you have to eat to match the insulin. A more modern approach is to take the short and long acting insulins separately. The long acting insulin is taken once or twice a day depending on the type of insulin. This is called basal insulin and keeps your blood sugar stable even when you don't eat.
Avatar m tn My calcaneous is slightly flattened, but not grossly so. I can walk and I am now in P.T. 2-3 times a week. Every part of my body has hurt at one time or the other. I am trying to get the flexibility back to my foot, but I still experience swelling. My foot is fatter, but as long as I have the possiblity of being mobile, I'm much happier. I am very active, so this is very difficult. I'm wondering how long one might expect recovery from this type of injury???
Avatar f tn I have a problem with chronic pain in my left shin and have had bouts with plantar fastitis. Suddenly by shoe inserts to support my high arches feel awful. What are the right exercises and what else can I do?
700000 tn?1231287536 The only problem I have is that it is kind of a bummer in that without the flexibility in my wrist, some of my basketball and martial arts activities that I participate in currently are limited. I still live a normal life as an engineer and go to the gym 5 - 6 times per week and never feel any pain except on REALLY cold days. I recently landscaped my backyard with no problems. As far as flexibility, I was barely able to do a flat handed push up 3 years ago. I am 30 years old currently.
Avatar f tn My daughter is 25 now, and 5 years ago she broke her femur and had a titanium rod put in her leg. She's doing fine, and now she's taking tae kwando classes. She is not sure, however, if she should push herself to do kicks, etc., or to be careful not to put too much strain on her hip. She's not sure if she can increase her flexibility by pushing herself, or if she could do herself harm. How can she tell what could be helpful as opposed to what might to damage?
Avatar n tn Take a look at this article: http://www.jpeds.com/article/S0022-3476(99)70173-3/abstract Unfortunately, without journal access through a university/medical library, the full text costs $$, but google scholar caught this glimpse from it: "Several recent investigations have also identified a high prevalence of orthostatic intolerance among those with fibromyalgia. ... " so it does link CFS, EDS, OI, and fibromyalgia (and is by Rowe).
Avatar m tn Also, I forgot to include that studying meant I was sitting in a chair all day and a lot of the time I was leaning forward with my back hunched.
Avatar m tn This was last sept and I am on vitamin d supplement since then. I retested my blood and vitamin d is 123 nmo/l this time doctor checked my ESR and its very high 85 On top of that i bone scan revealed Osteopencia. In spite of my normal serum vitamin level i have little improvement of my symtopms. Doctor think the underlying issue could be some kind of reactive arthritis? Could my issue only attribute to vitamin D and osteomalacia.

398059 tn?1447945633 She was further troubled to find out that I could not remember what activities that were involved with my time on Wednesday with my occupational therapist. With mild prompting I was able to recall most of what went in that session though. The occupational therapist tested my fine motor skills and my vision. She determined that my vision though severely compromised was okay for driving. Seeing as I drive out of Detroit most every week day, I am happy she thinks I am okay to drive.
