Avatar f tn It has the correct stretches for every sport. Your shin pain and plantar fasciitis may be related. When your shin hurts you may be adjusting your movement and huring your heel. Once you have the right shoes, both conditions will be helped by stretching.
Avatar m tn My mother is a nurse who disagrees with me that you need a structured diet and fitness program from a doctor to truly lose weight. She is giving loads of grief because I want to the lose weight but I have not done any exercising till I have seen the specialist concerning it. I told her I wanted to make the appointment but told me to pretty much run 3 miles and eat whatever I want. I am not a nurse but that does not sound correct to me.
Avatar n tn I have a torn meniscus and 2 herniated disc and started with a 20 minute walk every day and worked my way up to an hour
Avatar f tn Hi Les, welcome to the forum here. Idon't believe we have crossed paths yet - or at least that's what my faulty memory is telling me. Not knowing your personal situation it is a bit hard to offer suggestions that might work for you. I have one that I like that is Women's Health Total Workout in Ten! It is broken into ten minute segments- cardio, upper body, lower body and flexibility/balance. You can pick out the routine that you want to work on or do them all.
Avatar n tn A normal resting heart rate is 60-80, but there's flexibility in those numbers. As for standing heart rate - I think it would depend on the person. 120 is probably too high, 50 is probably too low.
Avatar n tn To know how fit you really are, you should have a fitness assessment done by a fitness professional. Just because your weight is in an ideal range doesn't mean you are HEALTHY or FIT. A simple chart is NOT enough to determine where you should be as far as your weight. If I may ask, what is your weight?
Avatar n tn I had one night with nausea and a cold sweat, then one time feeling winded after climbing the stairs. This is my second time around and I actually recognised those symptoms from last time! No morning sickness for me, thankfully - friends of mine aren't so lucky, I enjoy that fact quietly to myself ;) There's tons of advice I could give but the big ticket item is YOGA. So good.
Avatar m tn assessed, then start a fitness, strength and flexibility program. A PT will also be able to identify if there is a specific area of concern. If I'm not careful I end up with facet joint issues. Things like sore back are not lesion-related (primary), but secondary to how we walk, sit, how our posture is. By our age, we also start to have disc and arthritis issues rear their ugly heads :P.
Avatar f tn I would talk to your doctor about the side effects - advair has some nasty side effects that can be serious depending on age, health, other medications etc. There can be cardiac related things going on related to the medication or simple heartburn from it but it's better safe than sorry.
Avatar f tn It really hinders my ability to increase my fitness level by walking or running. When I look in the mirror I see that my legs (below the knee) are slightly bowed. I often wonder if that might be the reason and if so is there anything I can do to overcome that problem? I would love to know how to overcome this.
Avatar m tn m not sure whether the pain in my wrist and the flexibility issues are related. Anybody knows what medical conditions do i have because my doctor diagnosed me patellofemoral pain syndrome which im sure its wrong ?
Avatar n tn s advice, you need to be in some sort of physical therapy to strenghten and improve flexibility of muscles related to your spine. Also, if your accident was fairly recent, you need to rest a lot, so not being able to get out of bed is your body trying to tell you something. You also need to be on some sort of medicine, either pain killers or antispasmodics, to help control the discomfort you are experiencing in your back, since the shots are not enough.
Avatar n tn I think Rowe speculated on a related over flexibility in veins (though I am no longer sure here, it has been a while since I read the documents). I am interested in finding out more proven scientific facts about fibromyalgia that may give a glimpse at the cause, but came up with very little.
