I am a 23 year old female, with reynaud's phenomenon. Usually I suffer from very cold/numb hands, which only swell a little for maybe 10 minutes after they start to heat up. I woke up today with a very swollen index finger. I thought maybe I'd banged it, but now my little finger is swollen, too. They hurt to touch, and my hands are still cold and normal coloured. It's only on one hand - my right. I'm getting worried, now, because this hasn't happened before.
He came in to tell me and he was in alot of pain in his wrist and at the shoulder of that arm, but he said the tip of the finger was just numb. I cleaned the puncture area with hydrogen peroxide and told him we better get him to a doctor, that he might need a tetnes shot and better wound care, he refused to go! I think for one he hates going to the doctor and two he has no medical insurance right now...

I was painful at first and I couldn't feel my finger but now it's only a little tender. It's not red and it's not very swollen if at all, only a little on the side he pierced through. Though it has been bleeding a little on my bandaide.
s possible that they have found better ways to fix nerves since then and it was also my finger and not my hand (more room to work in a hand vs a finger).
In think that if you don't feel comfortable with this doctors opinion you should definitely get another opinion before letting someone cut into you. I don't think your damage is going to get any worse if you wait. My finger didn't get worse and still moves but it is numb. Who knows, maybe it will get better on it's own.
I know I might be a little paranoid here but I heard that small hand and finger injurys could become very bad. I got a tiny stab wound by a wood shishkabob stick right on the underside of my knuckle joint of my pointer finger. It drew less than a drop of blood but over the course of the day, my finger got sore. I will continue to monitor but any info I can get would be really helpful.
Two years later it began to turn bright red and hurt really bad. They found that I had started to grow a second finger (or bone) underneath my my finger. The best description of it would be a bone spur.
I went thru ANOTHER surgery to get the bone removed before it could really hurt me. The bone came out and measured 2 and a half inches long.

I'm a little worried right now and need some words to help calm my nerves.
The situation is quite simple really, I was out looking for a pocket knife to carry with me to work and while looking at one I punctured my finger with the tip of the knife which was very sharp. For such a small puncture my finger bled quite a bit though that's probably also because I was squeezing it to make the blood come out.
Puncture wounds are so dangerous because they're hard to see and don't usually look all that bad. A puncture from a giant breed dog can easily cause an inch-deep wound that is just begging for infection. Topical treatments like antibiotic ointments will only help heal the top layer and possibly hide a nasty infection deeper inside. So yes, it's time for a trip to the vet.
The tv fell and I fell on top of it and the top corner of the tv jabbed into my heck very hard. I had bad bruising and swelling right away. On that side of the neck, I have one or two smaller lumps on the neck lymph gland and one large swelling on the lymph on my neck just above the collarbone where the tv hit the hardest. Is it possible that it was caused by the fall? I didn't have any swelling before the fall.

Yeah, it looks a little better today, its right above her eye so I expected a little swelling and kind of a black eye, the size of the puncture is about the size of a nail head. ve had tests such as an MRI and recently just had a lumbar puncture to rule out increased intra-cranial pressure (due to a slight swelling in my eye) . Does anyone know what this might be? Also i read that increased anxiety and tensing of the muscles can increase intracranial pressure. I know that when i get up out of bed I am tense, and the black spots happen more prominently when i'm anxious.
I believe it is puss because I did manage to squeeze a white substance out of it. i also tried to puncture it to drain the fluid, but it did not drain.
I had a lot of swelling at the end of both of my pregnancies and I had bit feet. Try to put them up which helps with swelling. While it is normal for most women, it also can be a sign of blood pressure issues. Your doctor will check this . My doctor monitored swelling. She'd put her finger into it and it pitted (imprint of her finger stayed for a bit), that was more concerning.

Once the lumbar puncture is done I have about a hour of reduced swelling and headache. But then soon swells after that and I still have my pressure headache. Both Lumbar punctures have been higher than they would want. And the one I had yesterday was higher than the first.
Seems like it’s going to be a long process. And I thought I would be symptom free after Surgery.
