My husband just recently bought me a new wedding ring set and for the past week or so I have been waking and my ring finger has been hurting and I'm guessing its due to swelling...is there anything I can do about this without getting it resized or am I eventually gojng to have to go ringless?
Three months ago i cut my pinky & ring finger on a saw , surgery was completed & been going to physio for two months to get mobility in the fingers where they had to re-attache the tendons , that stretching is going well but the swelling on back of hand--palm of hand & fingers are giving me a problem , i've been working through that issue(soaking hand from hot &cold water)(wearing compression gloves)(wrapping the hand)(wearing a splint)(arm elevated) (massage) & now anoth
What do you ladies do to stay fresh in this hot weather?
Do you notice that the entire hand is numb except the baby finger? The baby finger is fed by a different nerve. I googled hand numbness/menopause when this first started and it does seem as though some women are affected by this. My doctor thinks there is some swelling or fluid that builds up during the night causing pressure. Do you also notice that the sensation returns shortly after you start moving your hand/wrist?
alot of people wonder weather he is actually botherd sometimes!! ..my hands feel hot to me but they are really cold to touch by anyone else?? this morning i nearly took myself to A&E as i forgot to take my engagement ring off last night and my finger was obviously going purple when i woke up this morning and i paniced- making it worse!! thank god for the snow and cold weather.. helping to make my finger 'skinny' again! this shouldnt be at 34 years old should it??
The first time I saw my general practitioner he dismissed it as water retention and told me to change my diet. The finger swelling persisted and a reddish mottled rash symmetrical radiated on both of my arms. I began to get very nervous because my hands were freezing and tingling. (I have had always freezing cold hands and feet despite the temperature of the rest of my body).
Thanks, we wil see the doctor. It's winter so the weather is not hot.
After few such dips, passive mobilization or assisted mobilization is done by a physiotherapist.
b) Same as hot water fomentation in which finger is dipped in luke warm water, and then passive mobilization is conducted.
For the problem you mentioned that your finger is pointing towards the pinky finger, there are some options like putting a brace to maintain the normal position. After a while, this brace can be removed.
lol but not much swelling only when i stand too long or if the weather is REALLY HOT likeithas been for the past couple of days.. its been in the 90's... eww the swelling for me happens after delivery.. not looking forward to that. cause they put so much darn fluid in you ... ughhhh anyway...just 4-5 weeks left... i still have to wait to schedule my c-sec n the hospital will not let me do it till end of July... so we will c what happens... baby might decide to come b4 c-section date...lol..
Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
We have had many threads on this topic, u can use the search this community feature to locate the older threads.....but the consencenses is it is the Chiari clashing with weather/seanon changes that can affect us.
Surgery will not get rid of all symptoms as u will still have Chiari.
Many chiarians also have related issues that can also play into this.
2004....wow that is sometime ago, outside of the weathers disturbances do u have ne other issues?
I used to live in bay area it was ok weather in summer. But man!!!! Central valley gets unbearable hot. I still dont no sex of my baby but boy or girl. This baby gone be in onesies they are comfy and cool for them. Btw this my second pregnancy im not an expert im just a mommy like you learning as i go.
s probably nothing, and just normal swelling from being on your feet a lot or hot weather, but a warning sign for pre eclampsia is swelling on one side... I'd get that checked out sooner rather than later at your doctor or hospital if it were me (I'm usually not one to recommend medical intervention but in this case better to be safe than sorry as with pre eclampsia your body just kinda starts shutting down).
