finger swelling at night

There is no swelling or anything in the rest of my fingers, just the pointer and the middle finger. What worries me is that the pain and swelling has gotten worse each night. The only thing I did differently was that I played volleyball for the first time in a while on Monday night. I play at a competitive level so im passing balls that are coming at me pretty fast and hitting or "spiking" balls a lot too. I've played my whole life and this has never happened to me before.

I thought it could be from all the weight gain and I asked my husband if he thought it was the weight gain or if it was swelling but he thought they looked normal. Tonight I can definately tell its swelling. I can push my finger to my ankle and it stays indented. Any suggestions on how to make it go away?

When i was 11 a girl broke my right index finger at school and no one believed me when I said it was broken. So obviously it wasn't splinted or even buddy tapped. In the eight grade my mom took me to a doctor that told her that my finger did break and that the bone healed eight degrees off. After six months of trying to buddy tape it and splint it, the bone only moved two degrees. I have UCTD and my hands swell at night and now I have a finger that has a catch in it and I have to force it open. It was only in the mornings at first but now it’s all day.

See a doctor? When I was splinting it at night I would wake up, take the splint off, and it felt really sore. Thanks for any help.

Also in the past couple weeks have begin to notice pinky and ring finger going numb or tingly almost every night.

I was tucking in my shirt and heard a pop, and then felt sharp pain in my index finger. Looking at it I noticed the top knuckle is bent in the direction it should bend at about a 45 deg. angle, but it will not straighten. It stays bent at 45 deg. even if I try to straighten out my finger. There isn't a lot of pain. It was numb last night and is still not 100%. The only pain and swelling are actually on the middle knuckle. What should I do?

So I cut dairy out of my diet except for a small amount in waffles in the morning and a small amount in instant mashed potatoes at night. Every thing seemed to be working then out of no where my throat starts closing up again at night. It's frustrating because if the alergy doesn't kill you, the lack of sleep will. I'm going to cut out the waffles and go back to eggs in the morning and see if that corrects it again.

Hi, I had the same thing. Someone recommended magnets. I didn't believe in it but figured it wouldn't hurt to try. At night I tapped a magnet on top and bottom of the finger and left it there all night. I can't remember how long it took but it did work and never came back. Try it, you'll like it.

First it started swelling on my index finger, with a couple of visible red dots under the skin, and then it started on my ring finger, but the swelling was different, it got swollen at one point beyond the big joint of the finger and another swelling at the smaller joint of the finger. Sprains take awhile to heal, Best to keep it splinted tape it to the next finger for a temp and buy a splint at the drug store. Ibroprofen and ice may help relieve the swelling and inflamation. My ring finger got pulled looked swollen at first which it was now after a couple of weeks the swelling stopped and my finger looks broken but I can move it just not bend it down all the way or else it starts hurting It also has a bump .
