finger nails manicure

Hello there. I have recently went to a nail salon to had my nails done. During one of the procedures, I have noticed that the lady who was doing my nails, had scratched some of my fingers with the nails file and there have been couple of little cuts, with a bit of a blood.

During labor, if I had fake nails on or polish would they have to remove them from one finger to look at my nail color??? Just wondering because I was considering getting a manicure or possibly acrylic nails today because this new salon is offering 50% off their services. My mom is the one that mentioned that possibility to me, so that's why I ask if anyone had problems with either one of those (I'm 37 weeks and may be induced next week, so that's why I wonder too). (when the place was empty) In the event that an infected person has been getting nails seconds before meNot sterilize instruments, if I am not exaggerated but it scares me.

Hi, If this is your first dog, I would suggest going to the pet store/book store and getting a book on the general care and living, with a dog. What you describe as a "french manicure", is normal for a dogs nails. The white/clear part is what is growing past his "finger"....the pink part, so to speak. That is the part that needs to be clipped, just as peoples nails do as they grow out. But you have to be VERY careful not to accidentally clip the pink part....

I just found out i am pregnant and had a manicure yesterday. I was reading they are safe to do in a good environment but part of the manicure is a short & light hand massage and then my nails dried under the light.... do i have anything to be concerned about??

Hey ladies, I'm 5 weeks and 3 days. I was curious if it's okay to get my nails done like a gel manicure?

No check with your hospital first about finger nails because mine doesn't allow it because of the finger monitor. Some do some don't jus wouldn't want ya to pay for it and then have to take it off.

I agree with RockRose, a nice manicure is fine; fake nails on children, that's a little over the top and potentially tacky.

I am having a lot of trouble with my finger nails and toe nails spliting and being brittle. Is that a thyroid thing? Go ahead girls, let me have it.....I'm ready. Don't tell me what color to paint them and I'm not going to have a pedicure.

It's my birthday today and I would really like to take myself out to get a manicure and pedicure . I've heard it's not good to do because of the acetone exposure . But I never get my nails done so would it be safe ?

When she was trimming my nails, she carelessly cut my finger. It was a very small cut and there was a very little drop of blood bleeding from my finger then. I was really shocked and scared. The time from the moment I entered the salon until my finger got cut was about 15 minutes. I am still super worried that I could have got HIV infection because of that. Now I got a cold, which makes me worry even more.

You want to bite more than you want pretty nails. When you want pretty nail more than you want to bite, you'll stop. This sounds simple and trite and silly, but it isn't. It's born of experience. When you want to stop, you will. Nail biting isn't fatal, or really even dangerous. No one needs to stop you before you decide to stop yourself, because pretty nails aren't really important to anyone except your own self.

Im 11wks i want to get my nails done but is it recomended because of the odor chemicals??

I still paint my nails maybe weekly but I now have nails that extend past the finger. YAY!

the so called manicure he did was ****** to say the least. All he did was cutmy nails and buff them I had to tell him to take care of my cuticles which really ticked me off and then he CUT me and I wouldn't stop bleeding! So at this point I'm ready to tell him this service should be free!

Any of you ladies know if it's unsafe to get a gel manicure? I have a friend giving me Crap for considering a gel nail manicure for my wedding in a week, the clear "French manicure" look with silver sparkle tips. She's ragging on me about how the chemicals they use can leech into my skin and possibly harm my baby. Fair enough. But honestly, it sounds crazy uptight.. is it really that potentially dangerous?

It is safe to get them. I was a nail tech for 11 years and quit when we moved when I was pg with my dd. I did nail through two of my pg's and my kids are healthy. I would however recommend maybe just get a manicure instead. The problem you may have with the acrylic is due to hormones in your body from being pregnant they may not stay on. I know when I was pg I could not keep them on, they would just pop off.

This past Friday I got a manicure at a new salon. The woman doing my nails cut the side of my pinkie with the nail file and caused it to bleed. After this happened I noticed that she had several cuts on her hand which appeared to be bleeding. Assuming she is infected with HIV and her blood got into my cut either from the nail file or touching my cut to her finger am I at any risk of HIV?

I usually just get a gel manicure and this time I got acrylic nails. It's perfectly fine to get them done. Just ask for a mask so you won't inhale chemicals.

I'm currently 30 weeks my baby shower will be march 2&march 8 I want to get manicure for this special even but a few ppl are saying u can't cuz because the smell can upset u or your baby but what if I want a French tip or crilique Advice needed!

Any ladies get there nails done. Not just a basic manicure with polish. But the acrylic nails? I miss getting my nails done. I want to get them done. But family and friends are saying I shouldn't because it's easier to scratch the baby when he's here. etc. Any input?
