Numbness in both feet, more so in left side,,, you can stick a needle on the top onf my left foot and i cannot feel it,,, right foot is the same but not as bad.

any amount of swelling in a small joint such as a finger joint can cause quite a bit of discomfort. It sounds like you "jammed" the joint(s). It can take a long time to resolve. Like 6-9 months. You could try soaking it in hot water to loosen things up and try to pull and put tension on the finger to loosen up the joint. Pull the finger slowly, steadily, and gently straight out. I have found this can help loosen it up and relieve some pressure in the joint.
Is there material in the joint? Is it swollen inside? Is it due to damage to connective tissue? As an engineer, I need to know - can't help it.
* What's the long-term prognosis? Will my finger regain normal range of motion? And will it be pain-free?
* What can I do to help the healing process? Physical rehab? Medications (like anti-inflamatories, etc)?
I'm doing stretching excercises. The stretching (forcing the joint to bend past where it stops) hurts.
I have treated twice for Hep C once for 15 mo standard Interferon and Rib, second time for 7 mo with addition of Alinia stopping Jan of 09. I have severe loss of finger joint movement in both hands. started 3 or 4 months after final treatment. My ortho guy doesn't see any structural damage or signs of arthritis .Could there be tie to the Hep C or treatment??
I am a 56 years old female and in relatively good health. I take one medication for hbp. Recently the middle joints of my little fingers are very tender, red and tend to be very itchy, if that makes any sense and I've also begun noticing some tiny red nodules at the first joint of my index fingers and little fingers. Some times the nodules are a little more pronouced than other times.
m told I will have to have joint replacement due to extensive damage to my knuckles and joints. The pain and swelling are horrible and I can not move nor feel my ring finger still. Is this normal for tendon damage being repaired? If I would of known this would be so painful I never would of gone through with surgery.
Both thumbs have De quervains tendonitis, I have just started to get a tennis elbow, well i think its that, I pulled open the sliding door and something popped in my elbow and its been painful since January, I started to get pins and kneedles in my little finger and ring finger at the weekend because of it.
It is again in the PIP pinky joint of the right hand. I know there is joint injury, and maybe sheath damage. Would you recommend any OTC anti-calais medicine. I usually heal up pretty quick due to alot of exercise routines. But I have broken a mandible before so I know the feeling when some thing is wrong. MCP is fine, PIP has less than 90% for sure and DIP seems okay. My finger is still extremely swollen at the PIP joint and at the area of the break due to superficial scar tissue and possibly scar tissue near the tendons.
Can anyone please advise their experiences and what the best road to take? I'm currently going to a hand therapist once a week and I'm debating on finding another therapist as well. Thank you all, looking forward to your replies.
The two areas are the finger tip of my pinky finger there is no abnormal feelings below the top joint, only the tip. And my ring finger but not as severe in the same place the tip and same thing where there is no abnormal feelings below the top joint.
All motor control and everything is working fine with two fingers far as I can tell, squishing the tips increases the feeling of paraesthesia, thou this has been going on for over a week by now.
i gotten in a bad accident a few years ago and severley messed up my left hand. had alot of surgeries at HCMC in minnesota and they pretty much reconstructed my hand but apart from severe nerve damage and tendon damage my hand is still technically all "natural" material if you will. ive had many stiches and some were placed on my middle finger on the middle knuckle and there was a small peice of stuture left in there.
specifically, the two finger joints of the pinky, the top joint of the ring finger, the central joint of the middle finger and sometimes the knuckle and central joint of the index finger. My thumb's central joint can be popped but causes no pain or tightness.
Pressing my hand flat on a surface and forcing it to remain there causes tightness at the wrist and I can feel what can only be described as a 'spring effect' at the knuckles when I release.
I jammed my left (non-dominant) pinky finger and now the top of the finger is bent down towards my palm (from the top knuckle). A little discomfort in palm and top of hand. The bent portion above the top knuckle refuses to go back into place. Could it be broken? If jammed and I splint it, will it correct itself eventually? Hi , i closed my car door over my finger nail and it get red then blue over 0.75 of the nail , it wasn't painful so i just thought it is ok , and the nail will grow blew it and will remove the damaged one .
About a week later I experienced quite a bit of pain in my left thumb, it would bend on the half joint where the nail is and hurt like hell. I had to snap it back to place. It seemed like trigger finger, but I do not have artheritis. I could move it all around, it was not swollen or broken. My Dr. looked at it and said it will be OK just give it time because I might of damaged the ligament.
Recently my index finger on my right hand is sensitive to pressure in the digital pulp area. The pain or sensitivity is toward the medial side on the distal phalanx. I am not sure what caused it. I have full flexion in the joint, just pressure pain when touching and object. On a scale of one to ten with ten being the highest, the pain is about a 5. ve been having minor pain in the smallest joint on my fourth finger on my right hand. Because I work seven days a week during the school year, I never saw the doctor. But it started getting worse. It hurts, if my fist is closed, to bump the knuckle from above. It also hurts to stretch my fingers out (laying flat is okay, but if I try to stretch them at all, it hurts).

crushed thumb in car door slamming it and then pulling as did not realise thumb was jammed 5weeks now still painful on tip and upper joint with pain on bending thumb how long does an injury take to heel and do you think ive done perminent damage

m a house painter and recently brought my hand down onto the sharp point of one of my painting tools. It cut into the side if my rt hand middle finger, middle joint (between the knuckle and the lower joint) It bled a bit and swelled up of course. That was over two weeks ago. I still have noticable swelling in that joint, especially on the rt side, and considerable pain. The rest of my hand hurts lately, probably from compensating for the lack of use of the middle finger. Any ideas?
I'm 28 and I have joint pain in my finger joints and I feel it in my wrists sometimes too. And in the digits of my feet (I think).
I have no RF in my blood and the doctor said just take Ibuprofen.
I am slightly over weight because of bulimia.
I've had gluten sensitivity problems (makes me sluggish and hungry).

No thyroid problems. Not diabetic.

I dislocated my left ring finger at the middle joint just over a week ago. It was bent sideways over the middle of my pinky for about 3 hours. I went to the ER and they pulled it back into place, did x-rays (no fracture), and splinted up the finger and told me it should be getting back to normal in about 3 days.
