Avatar n tn Hi, I’ve recently gotten on a birth control pill called “ Norethindrone Acetate and Ethinyl Estradiol 1mg/0.02 mg” What I’ve recently discovered is after taking the three weeks of pills I’m supposed to take a week off of the pills and then start the new pack. Needless to say, I was unaware that I was supposed to be taking this week off between packs. I’ve been taking this birth control for almost 4 months without these week breaks between packs. Is this something I should worry about?
Avatar f tn Three months ago I was switched by my OBGYN to the oral contraceptive pill Loestrin ( a combination of norethindrone acetate and ethinyl estradiol). I asked my doctor to switch me from my old 'tried & true" BC pill Azurette (Ethinyl estradiol and desogestrel) because of my suspicion that it, Azurette might be making my Chronic Migraine Headache condition worse.
314833 tn?1263259499 Ok, so my insurance would not pay for the lupron so the doc gave me norethindrone acetate... The endro pain seems to be doing better, but I am getting these breath taking cramps on a daily bases...I thought it was something that would go away...now im not so sure...they get really bad to the point where I hold my breath till the pain is gone....or grab on to something......I don't know if its the scare tissue from surgery or what.....
Avatar f tn Hi Sassy, It's good that you talked to your doctor about your bleeding, especially since it's been two years. They say that any bleeding after going a year without a period should be checked out. That said, FEMHRT combines both estrogens and progesterone (norethindrone acetate), and one drawback is that the latter can cause "breakthrough bleeding", even in post-menopausal women.
Avatar f tn Currently the doctor has put me on Ginette-35 (Cyproterone acetate and Ethinyl estradiol tablets) for 21+7+21 days. Post which I shall be having another USG to decide the future course of action. The pain remains only during periods and is quite unbearable. Else all is OK. I seriously hope it doesn't lead to further complications.
Avatar f tn The OBGYN gave me a better medication to stop the bleeding NORETHINDRONE ACETATE 5mg. I came in complaining of a stabbing pain on my right complex ovary and fluid build up in the abdomen. The pelvic exam was normal. But this does not rule out Ovarian cancer. I’m really scared because I’m almost 1 month I have 23LB pounds. Feeling a tired and bloated. A week ago a got worse my belly looks 6 Months pregnant. The belly has gone down a little.
Avatar n tn My eye doctor sent me to a cornea specialist and after an exam he asked me to keep taking the acyclovir tablets (1 pill - 3x a day) and prescribed Pred Forte eye drops (Prednisolone Acetate 1%) 4x a day. Reading about this stereoid, I saw that it is not to be used on infections caused by virus (eg. Herpes). What should I do????? Thank you.
Avatar f tn Yes, if you take leuprorelin injections, most doctor use addback with low dose Norethindrone acetate to prevent osteoporosis. You should discuss this with your doctor. Alternatively, if you have endometriomas ie endometriosis cysts in your ovaries you can take a birth control pill to try to control pelvic pain and potential progression endometriosis.

Avatar f tn Well, she also prescibed a hormone pill called Norethindrone 5MG. She said that after 3 months of taking the Norethindrone that I should start having a regular period every month. I take it for the first 12 days of each new month and that's it. But I acutally started it on the 3rd of October because my husband and I had questions about the medication.
Avatar f tn I normally have very regular periods, but since the beginning of the year they have been only coming about every other month or so. The beginning of July my doctor put me on Norethindrone .35mg to help regulate my periods. I want to get pregnant ASAP, but it just wasnt happening with having irregular cycles. Will Norethindrone help me to ovulate or is it ultimately going to make it harder for us to conceive?
Avatar f tn Did you ever find out why you were itching? I don't itch on Estradiol tablets but I have been using an Estrogen cream in and around my vagina and it is causing burning and itching that is driving me crazy!!! My doctor tells me she has never heard of that kind of problem. I hope you have solved your problem.
Avatar m tn I stopped taking my Premarin, and upon my request for a safer or natural hormone, she prescribed estradiol .05 once a week patch, just recently (last week) added Prometrium, 200 mg. daily. My health/sanity issues have not changed. I have anxiety, high blood pressure, hypothyroidism, high cholesterol, insomnia, body aches, memory problems, difficulty concentrating and staying on tasks, no sex drive, the list goes on.
Avatar m tn It also seems to make clear that the type of potassium salt you are taking (chloride, citrate, gluconate, acetate, bicarbonate, etc) does not matter. The only thing that counts is the amount of actual (elemental) potassium you are ingesting. For instance we take 595mg tablets of potassium gluconate containing 99mg of elemental potassium. This means that if I am willing to take 20 of these cheap little pills a day to get my 2000mg (2g) of potassium that is just fine.
Avatar f tn Hello, my fiancé and I are actively ttc. I haven’t had a cycle since August 2017, so a few days ago I went to the ob/gyn..he didn’t seem very concerned. He told me to lose a few pounds, which I am about 20 lbs overweight. He said PCOS could be a possibility, but for now he prescribed me Norethindrone 5mg. I am supposed to take 2 pills twice a day, & there are 20 pills total. My doc said it will help with a “breakthrough bleed” to get my cycle back.
