Has anyone anything good to say about Vagifem [Estradiol hemihydrate]. I have used it for only a week and have had bad headaches, plus terrible pains in my womb. Also pins and needles down my left arm, and even my teeth are feeling very sensitive. I can't believe this is doing me any good. All replies will be welcome.
The doctor now thinks it is vaginal atrophy, and I have been given vagifem tablets. Every day for 2 weeks, followed by twice a week. I still have the vaginal discharge , except it is no longer yellowish green, it is white or clear or slightly yellowish.
Here's my question.. Has any one else had this symptom from vaginal atrophy? What works to make this go away?
i had a total hystrectomy in 1995 and quit hormones 8 yeasr ago its been rough,back in july dr stated me on menest but then i went to another dr and she did blood hormones and as of 2 weeks ago i was put on estradiol 1 mg was already on vagifem she just added 0.25 mg of divigel 3 days ago and now my breats are so sore and bad headache..
When Vagifem or Estrace is prescribed for a post menopausal woman with a uterus, should a progestin always be prescribed as well? I've been taking Vagifem for 2 years without a progestin, and now I have to undergo an endometrial biopsy because of some buildup of the lining of my uterus (I have no bleeding....it showed up on an TV ultrasound...small changes and endometrial thickness of 5mm).
been on different antibotics was tols it was clear but i still have burning,now im on estradiol 1 mg and prometrium 100 mg i have no uterus and she ordered me testotestorone from a compounding pharmcay..
I have recently been started on Vagifem and in the last 3 days have had copiou amounts of greenish watery vaginal discharge. Should I be concerned it is very annoying.
HI, I'm 27, my gynecologist put me on vagifem for vaginal dryness. My period is now a week late which is very unusual for my cycle. My boobs are achy but not sore to touch. Could my period be late and sore boobs because of vagifem??
m 34 and after a recent visit to a gyno she prescribed me vagifem suppositories and betnovate cream. I am not menopausol or anything. I've just had gyno issues in past few months of a burning sensation inside my vagina and sometimes outside too. It is very uncomfortable at times. She prescribed me vagifem and betnovate to use for 3 months consistently before I go back to her. I'm worried after reading on internet about cancer being linked to it and so on.
I'm a 59 year old post menopausal woman who recently had my 4th follow-up transvaginal ultrasound because of a small ovarian cyst. The cyst is still there (but quite small), however, my latest ultrasound has caused my doctor to schedule an endometrial biopsy for me. Here are the findings: "The endometrium measures 5mm in thickness. Tiny cystic changes are noted involving the endometrium. This finding was not seen on previous examinations.
It was not until after my surgery (Not saying the surgery corrected it, in fact, it had the potential to make things worse) I got relief because by then I was on a steady stream of Estradiol (by way of the Vivelle patch.. a bioidentical hormone... estradiol is reputed by many to be the premier estrogen and personally I won't use anything else for estrogen replacement). I also use testosterone, which will also keep that area supple.
Did you ever find out why you were itching? I don't itch on Estradiol tablets but I have been using an Estrogen cream in and around my vagina and it is causing burning and itching that is driving me crazy!!! My doctor tells me she has never heard of that kind of problem.

Hi my estrogen was low on 2nd day in this cycle (my lab results said lesser than 37) but my RE said that he wants low estrogen on 2nd day and that it will normally increase in the process. Apparently bad news is if you have high estrogen on day 2. I am in natural cycle IVF and my follicle has developed well and my uterus lining is good. I am having aspiration tomorrow - so it did not look like there was a problem even though estrogen was low on 2nd day. I hope all works well for you. Good luck.
t absorbing it which would imply that your symptoms are from the loss of your ovaries and not the estradiol itself. I am also on estradiol tablets but I don't take mine orally. I either insert them vaginally or let them dissolve between my cheek and gum (transbuccal). And I use a higher dose of 1mg. My Rx is for 2mg but since I don't take them orally / swallow (no first pass through the liver), I cut them in half and only take 1mg. The use of only 1/2 pill makes it dissolve faster too.
She says that I am only to take the white tablets (containing Estradiol valerate 2mg) once a day along with my other pills and she says this is because it will help my uterus grow as she is concerned about lack of space and possible miscarriage.
My concern is that following some internet research - these tablets (The Progyluton) appear to be strongly contraindicated for pregnancy!!
I am worried about taking them and I'm also worried about NOT taking them!!!!
Has anyone else suffered the dreaded Vaginal Atrophy. Have been prescribed Vagifem which is helping a little. Main problem for me is burning after urination. Don't like using the prescribed betnovate cream too often as this burns. Now trying the yes products. Some days I seem much better and then the next day it returns with avengeance. Sitting at School working with children is not ideal and aggravates it even more.
m taking progesterone capsules, HCG injections and aspirin delayed release tablets .What r they supposed to do and how does it help my baby? I had a chemical pregnancy in July and I'm now 6w3d pregnant.
What I want to know is how long before the surgery should we use the estrogen (I have both vagifem and estrace cream)? I had a hysterectomy, total and done vaginally, in Oct 2009, then bladder fell 2 months after, had the cystocele repaired and then around 6 weeks later the rectum and top of vaginal vault fell. I have had a pessary in for around a year to hold it but it is getting so hard to have a BM. I want this rectocele repair to be the last surgery!
