The gel I believe is the name brand and I know some do prefer this one and the other generic some prefer for its even release of medication. The gel or brand name is more powerful I believe but the generic has staying power. Someone will be along shortly and correct me if I am wrong as there are several people here that do use the patch and know the exact differences between the two.

before i left the dr gave me a script for estradiol and told me that my cervic liner was a bit thin and they like it to be a little bit thicker when iui's are the treatment and that my blood work was going to be reviewed and then i will get a call to let me know the dosage that i need to use for the gonal and let me know if i am to start this script... well i go a call and they called my cell and left a message just stating the gonal and nothing was mentioned about the script estradiol...

Maybe Premarin is not a good fit for you since you still have (insane) hot flashes. Have you tried any other types of estrogen such as a gel, patch, or the estradiol tablet (generic Estrace)? I had to switch HRT's because the first one I was prescribed left me with too many low E symptoms.

I personally found generic Estrace (micronized estradiol tablets) to work better for me than the patch. And a bonus is that it is a $4 (for 30) / $10 (for 90) prescription whereas I think I was paying $70 for a 3 month supply of patches.

I want enough estradiol in me to make sure I can string a sentence together, avoid depression, have a sex drive, have better word retrival, have strong bones, less moodiness, have good heart function, no cramping in legs (the worst when I am low in my estradiol)... no foot problems (yes... when estradiol was too low for a few years...bad doc's advice... yuk,... I ended up having to have surgery on both feet).. no joint pain... I could go on and on and on.

The only reason I would switch to that form of Estradiol is because my new health insurance is charging so much for the Vivelle and will only cover the generic form of the Climara patch (also a bioidentical estradiol and not a bad choice, but I have heard that women are not liking the generic version. Maybe it will get better sooooon... I hope!) I also take testosterone along with that hormone.

If your taking the medication like it is prescibed and meant to be taken then there should be no worries if they gel up or not. This medication helps alot of people on serious pain and it is people who snort shoot and crush them that makes it so hard for the legitimate patients to get the medicine they need! I am sorry if this offends you or anyone else but the fact remains that this abuse and misuse and diversion has caused so many problems for people in serious pain that need help.

I had the d/c for fibroid feb 6, up till that date i was on Lupron,,, Then I started on the estrace/generic estradiol and started the progesterone on day 15.. Hi Ladies, I went in for my follicle check today, and there are a few growing (day 12) but my uterine lining was just over 5 mm so it was measuring a little thin. The nurse wanted to put me on estrogen for the next couple weeks to try and build up the lining. I am on 2 mg of Estrace (actually the generic is called estradiol) which is inserted vaginally. It's just a little pill that I am supposed to put in my vagina I guess. Anyone else taken this before????

I am taking Crinone gel for infertility, have been taking for 4 months days 17- end of cycle. I am also taking clomid and estradiol. I am currently on day 23 (7th day on crinone) of my cycle and have started having so very mild almost pinching cramps intermittently. They are not painful, but I was just wondering if anyone else has cramping with crinone, I am still about 8 days away from when I am supposed to start my period.

There are two types of generic Fentanyl and at least one of you claims that one is superior to the other. Which one is the better of the two? Shooting and spasming doesnt fell like before the gel, uptake velocity ISNT the same.. Never a problem before the gel and I am worried the gel did something to my smooth muscle tissue or nerves or other cells.. because I would get HARD SENSITIVE erections all the time, at night, the morning, in the shower just through normal hormones but not anymore without physical help. And it doesnt stay engorged like before.. anyone know whats going on here?? Application was 6 months ago.
