Epipen release form

Common Questions and Answers about Epipen release form

epipen

Avatar n tn m also allergic to several medications (antibiotics) and my doctor said I might need an epipen when I take them to keep me alive until I get to a hospital. Just about all antibiotics close my throat. But I thought epipens contained epiphenephrine, and was told by a friend that it's bad for those with a heart arrhythmia. Has anyone here with PVCs had to use an epipen for an anaphlactic shock reaction, and if so, was it safe for the heart? Thanks.
Avatar f tn I have carried an epipen for the last 11 years for my son and Thank God we have not had to use it. But I was wondering if anyone did have an experience like this and had to use an epipen. Or if you have any information on urticaria pigmentosa? ( I know alot about it but I always would like to know more. Please share any information you may have or experiences you incountered.

Avatar n tn Hello I have severe reactions from insect stings especially bee stings. Its so bad that 1 or 2 stings will put me into anaphylactic shock. I have over 5000+ PVC's a day and the docs say it is a supposed benign condition. (which I do not believe). My wife has never had a pvc or palpitations. Anyways, I have to carry around a epipen everywhere I go. Last year I was working in my back yard and was stung twice, once in the face under the eye and once in my arm.

3986919 tn?1352125983 It seems you are really in good hands here - It must be scary to experience an escalating reaction like the one you describe. Do you have something to keep you like an epipen or benadryl or stronger if indeed you need to make that emergency run to ER? I hope so :( I don't know anything about mast cell, but praying you remain in good care. All the best to you today and the coming days, what a journey you are on.
Avatar f tn a whole body reaction like that sounds a lot like a food allergy. and your reactions sound pretty serious. just as a warning, these type of allergies can cause more severe reactions the more you are exposed, so next time it happens it could be much worse. I would go to a doctor and get an epipen (spelling?). hopefully you will never need it, but it might save your life.
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, as such epipen are not available yet. Epipen delivers a measured dose of epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) using autoinjector technology, most frequently for the treatment of acute allergic reactions to avoid or treat the onset of anaphylactic shock. In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding. Alternatively, the same drug can be given by the local health care provider or you need to go to emergency department.
Avatar f tn The other day my friend had a major asthma attack that almost sent him to the ER-- he thankfully had an epipen nearby. He thinks what triggered it was a laxative (sennosides in pill form) he took a couple of hours before. Is this even possible? And if so, should he be avoiding all things laxative? I wouldn't be asking these questions here, but he is too stubborn to go to a doctor like he should.
Avatar f tn The hives last for 10 to 120 minutes and do not seem to be caused by histamine release like the other physical hives. Most investigators believe that this condition is actually exquisite skin sensitivity to additives in the water such as chlorine but distilled water can also cause this reaction. Water urticaria is diagnosed by applying tap water and distilled water to the skin and observing the reaction.
Avatar n tn If you consume dairy product in any form,it will cause allergies and sometimes life threatening anaphylaxis. Symptoms of allergy includes rashes, hives, intense itching, difficulty in breathing and swallowing etc. Pls do not consume any form of dairy product. In addition to the avoidance of allergen in your diet, you can take some OTC antihistaminics like benadryl or Claritin. They can relieve the symptoms. If your symptoms do not improve then pls consult an allergy specialist.
645800 tn?1466860955 I am very allergic to bee and wasp stings to the point that I can die from a sting within about 1/2 hour or so. As a result I am suppose to carry an EpiPen with me at all times ( especially since there are a lot of wasps and bees around my home ). But despite this the couple of times I have been stung I have never been able to give myself the much needed shot. And to make matter worse I always have 2 reactions to each sting.
4451049 tn?1387153437 If the person having the attack carries an epinephrine autoinjector (such as an EpiPen or EpiPen Jr), give him or her a shot right away. Even if symptoms improve after an emergency epinephrine injection, a visit to the emergency department is still necessary to make sure symptoms don't return. " Ephedra------ I certainly can't say that you were really going into an attack----- but if had been me I would have stabbed my EpiPen into my thigh and then gone to the ER.
Avatar m tn What is MS Contin and what is MS/IR. They are both morphine? Does the Contin mean extended release and the IR mean immediate release. The MS/IR also has the letters IMN REO. I'm trying to find out if the MS/IR can be cut in half for tapering. Thanks to all that reply.
Avatar n tn I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.
Avatar f tn You may need an Epipen if it becomes more severe but in the meantime see a physician and buy some Benadryl.
Avatar f tn Hi meg, Oxycontin is just oxycodone in extended release form. It is no more powerful than immediate release oxycodone. And morphine is actually less powerful than oxycodone. Oxycodone is 1.5-2 times stronger than morphine. The shape of a pill and whether the pill is a tablet or capsule does not tell you if it is extended release or immediate release. Avinza is extended release morphine than comes in capsules versus tablets.
Avatar f tn Yes, I take Rebif as well and I don't have any injection site problems. I just started 3 weeks ago though. But I take it at night right before I go to sleep. If I do it during the day, I get realllllllly sleepy. Hope everything turns out ok!
Avatar f tn And when I sign papers they will give me a release form to sign so my information can be released to the new doctor. And it's free instead of me getting it my self and paying for it.
Avatar f tn All suspected allergins were removed but she still experiences anaphylactic type symptoms requiring Epipen and Reactin which increases the blood pressure. If anyone could provide some insight or possible explanations it would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar m tn In many cases, the injury becomes apparent after a dose increase or after switching from the regular crystalline to a sustained release form. The pattern is primarily hepatocellular, although cases with a cholestatic pattern have been described. The patients present with jaundice, itching, nausea, vomiting and fatigue.
Avatar n tn d have is that the GI tract absorbs medicines in oral liquid form quite quickly - unless in a time release form - thereby reducing the slow release quality of the patch. I would think there would be more "highs" and "lows" of the medicine's effects. Even though many of us find the patch problematic - it sure is a great way to deliver the med evenly over time.
667913 tn?1242700488 As I understand it, oxycodone is percocet in a non time released form. Oxycontin is essentially percocet in a time release form...ie, take on pill now and it's effectiveness should last up to 12 hours...there may be more to it than that. oxycodone's effects usually last approx 4-6 hours.
