Common Questions and Answers about Epipen new design

epipen

Avatar n tn m also allergic to several medications (antibiotics) and my doctor said I might need an epipen when I take them to keep me alive until I get to a hospital. Just about all antibiotics close my throat. But I thought epipens contained epiphenephrine, and was told by a friend that it's bad for those with a heart arrhythmia. Has anyone here with PVCs had to use an epipen for an anaphlactic shock reaction, and if so, was it safe for the heart? Thanks.
Avatar f tn This weekend was horrible, I had two reaction to the water, on friday it was with rain, and had to give me 2 shoots of Epipen, and than I was better but shaking badly from the Epipen, and yesturday just by sweat I did a reaction and again the Epipen but just once, and I didnt even went to the hospital after, his that dangerous if I dont go???? And his it dangerous I have to many shoots?????
Avatar n tn Hello I have severe reactions from insect stings especially bee stings. Its so bad that 1 or 2 stings will put me into anaphylactic shock. I have over 5000+ PVC's a day and the docs say it is a supposed benign condition. (which I do not believe). My wife has never had a pvc or palpitations. Anyways, I have to carry around a epipen everywhere I go. Last year I was working in my back yard and was stung twice, once in the face under the eye and once in my arm.
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, as such epipen are not available yet. Epipen delivers a measured dose of epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) using autoinjector technology, most frequently for the treatment of acute allergic reactions to avoid or treat the onset of anaphylactic shock. In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding. Alternatively, the same drug can be given by the local health care provider or you need to go to emergency department.
Avatar f tn Also, do you have an Epipen in the house? Always good to have in an emergency.
Avatar m tn I am currently a student at Loughborough University Design School studying Industrial Design & Technology. For one of my final year projects I am intending to design a product/service that aids stroke survivors through rehabilitation and the transition back to day to day activities. The brief also touches on making assistive technologies more aesthetically pleasing, moving away from large chunky white handrails for example.
645800 tn?1466860955 I am very allergic to bee and wasp stings to the point that I can die from a sting within about 1/2 hour or so. As a result I am suppose to carry an EpiPen with me at all times ( especially since there are a lot of wasps and bees around my home ). But despite this the couple of times I have been stung I have never been able to give myself the much needed shot. And to make matter worse I always have 2 reactions to each sting.

293157 tn?1285873439 Firstly let me point out that it isn't only MSers who are having a lot of difficulty with the new site design, and with the roll out basically being a 30% lottery when you login and out, it's unfortunately made the new design even more difficult to work out and it's caused a lot of confusion all over medhelp.
Avatar m tn the pain tracker is one of the trackers that we have not been able to design with our new design, and the old design isn't compatible with some recent updates. We do hope to be able to redesign the pain tracker, but don't have a set time line on this being finished. So sorry we don't have better news for you about getting the pain tracker working- but please let us know if you have any other questions.
Avatar m tn I now carry an epipen but would really like to track down the food that caused me to go into shock. Has anyone had such a reaction to chives or green onions without being allergic to other foods in that family? Thanks for any help you can give me.
Avatar f tn I have to say that I have been visiting Medhelp a lot less since the new design. The new format emphasises adverts at the expense of community atmosphere. Removing the identity of the original poster from the main topic listing page, and having no indication of recent poster details, is depersonalising. It makes using the forum less efficient. The question title is now the only thing that stands out (a little bit) from all the irritating advertisements.
167426 tn?1254086235 The Insert Therapeutics Phase II study utilizes a unique design intended to demonstrate prolonged time until disease progression in patients who achieved a response or stabilization in their disease following a 2nd line course of platinum-based chemotherapy. Since there are no approved maintenance treatments following chemotherapy for ovarian cancer, this study will be the first of its kind. Patients will begin the experimental therapy shortly after chemotherapy is completed.
1086611 tn?1257289724 Hello All, I have been on the brand name Duragesic Fentanyl Patch 100mc for close to 5 years. Recently, I filled my new prescription and noticed they changed everything about the Duragesic Patch. Has anyone else noticed this new development? I noticed it reminds me of the generic brand (which didn't work for me). I'm very worried that since they changed the design of the Brand what else did they change? I don't want like when they change medications that work for myself.

Avatar f tn I'm a healthy 24 year old female from Ohio.. have had all kinds of indoor and outdoor allergies since childhood, but around age 21, I developed several food allergies. mainly tree nuts, some beans, and fruit. I recently was retested to see if any of them went away, and it has only gotten severely worse! longer list of nuts, fruits, beans... it's beginning to seem the list of things I CAN eat is shorter than the list of things I CAN'T eat.
Avatar f tn You can go to amazon online and but stuff. They have lots of stuff and the best thing is, you can type in what you what and majority of the time it'll have what you want. Also, if you type in "create baby onesies" and click on those you can design your own onesie for your new baby girl, you can add your own picture and text on it. Hope this helps!

Avatar n tn I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.
