Hi sarah, I was diagnosed with copd 8 yrs ago and i smoked up until 2 wks ago and i feel better now for giving up. Lifespan depends on each person on how you look after yourself. Have you asked your Lung Consultant how long you can live with this. I found it really hard dealing with this when i was diagnosed and how restrictive i felt, but i got it in to my routine as opposed to living in the copd's routine.
I was in the hospital for two days while they worked on me. The doctor said the epipen saved my life. He also said if you have pvc's the epipen poses little threat as the allergic reaction is much more serious. When I stuck myself my heart rate shot up and i could feel the pvc's jumping. Most of the time in some situations epinephrine is used to save people from arrhythmia. I would go with the epipen and feel safe with it.
It should only be used in case of life threatening allergic reaction. Epipen is known to be associated with shaking esp. when the larger doses are taken. You should not take more than recommended dose; otherwise you may land up in complication. This is due to stimulation of the muscles. Hence, epipen should be better used under doctor's observation.

- Stay away from water as long as possible.
- Avoid going in rain outside.
Hello I have severe reactions from insect stings especially bee stings. Its so bad that 1 or 2 stings will put me into anaphylactic shock. I have over 5000+ PVC's a day and the docs say it is a supposed benign condition. (which I do not believe). My wife has never had a pvc or palpitations. Anyways, I have to carry around a epipen everywhere I go. Last year I was working in my back yard and was stung twice, once in the face under the eye and once in my arm.

Epipen delivers a measured dose of epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) using autoinjector technology, most frequently for the treatment of acute allergic reactions to avoid or treat the onset of anaphylactic shock. In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding.
Alternatively, the same drug can be given by the local health care provider or you need to go to emergency department.
I have yet to see an article from research hospitals claiming shortened life span with a diabetic who controlled and managed their glucose levels. No studied needed for those who ignore this disease and let their glucose levels progress. Their life span will be shortened.
You need to understand not everything on the internet is true or based upon factual evidence.
I was wondering what are the STI's that are with you for life. Could list all them please? and let me know which ones show symptoms over a span of over 8 months past exposure? I mean which ones would be showing symptoms. Because I have none.

November 2 I had a bowl of clam chowder (eaten many times in my life) and a half hour later I was in anaphylactic shock. I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.
Furthermore there is no antidote. Nicotine is is absolutely contraindicated. You have a potentially life-threatening problem that cannot be solved by home remedies. You do not know when the situation may deteriorate into what is called a "locked-lung" resulting in death. The fact you have observed the symtoms progressively get worse over a period of time disturbs me. You may find in the future that period may become very short.
