m also allergic to several medications (antibiotics) and my doctor said I might need an epipen when I take them to keep me alive until I get to a hospital. Just about all antibiotics close my throat. But I thought epipens contained epiphenephrine, and was told by a friend that it's bad for those with a heart arrhythmia. Has anyone here with PVCs had to use an epipen for an anaphlactic shock reaction, and if so, was it safe for the heart? Thanks.
This weekend was horrible, I had two reaction to the water, on friday it was with rain, and had to give me 2 shoots of Epipen, and than I was better but shaking badly from the Epipen, and yesturday just by sweat I did a reaction and again the Epipen but just once, and I didnt even went to the hospital after, his that dangerous if I dont go???? And his it dangerous I have to many shoots?????
Hello I have severe reactions from insect stings especially bee stings. Its so bad that 1 or 2 stings will put me into anaphylactic shock. I have over 5000+ PVC's a day and the docs say it is a supposed benign condition. (which I do not believe). My wife has never had a pvc or palpitations. Anyways, I have to carry around a epipen everywhere I go. Last year I was working in my back yard and was stung twice, once in the face under the eye and once in my arm.

Epipen delivers a measured dose of epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) using autoinjector technology, most frequently for the treatment of acute allergic reactions to avoid or treat the onset of anaphylactic shock. In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding.
Alternatively, the same drug can be given by the local health care provider or you need to go to emergency department.
I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.
You may need an Epipen if it becomes more severe but in the meantime see a physician and buy some Benadryl.
I have carried an epipen for the last 11 years for my son and Thank God we have not had to use it. But I was wondering if anyone did have an experience like this and had to use an epipen. Or if you have any information on urticaria pigmentosa? ( I know alot about it but I always would like to know more. Please share any information you may have or experiences you incountered.
Yes, I take Rebif as well and I don't have any injection site problems. I just started 3 weeks ago though. But I take it at night right before I go to sleep. If I do it during the day, I get realllllllly sleepy. Hope everything turns out ok!
I took him to get groomed and I do that every 6-8 weeks. He got in his carrier excited to go someplace as usual. He didn't seem sick. The groomer said he did fine as usual through the groom. She said she took him out and he peeed. But she did say she noticed him drooling a little this time, which was not ususl. I brought him home and I opened his carrier but he didn't come right out like normal. I went about my business, later I noticed he had came out the carrier and gone to his crate.
I now carry an epipen but would really like to track down the food that caused me to go into shock. Has anyone had such a reaction to chives or green onions without being allergic to other foods in that family? Thanks for any help you can give me.
For a couple of years I started having this reaction to mangoes, where my lips burn and start to get crusty, and it has developed to that, my mouth gets itchy and dry, and my throat becomes raw. My aunt who used to be a RN gave me something called aclivor (both a pill and some kind of paste for my lips) which seemed to work for the first event. But lately, I've been running out of the paste and the only place I can find aclivor is on online pharmacies from Mexico.

A few days later she developed what look like ulcers. They are excrutiatingly painful. I am known to be HSV1 positive from a history of cold sores since childhood. However, I do not currently have a cold sore lesion (I did give oral sex).
I was told I was a carrier of Hep C twenty + years ago.after I gave blood to a blood bank. I have never had Hepatitis of any kind. I was adopted at the age of 4 days old. Could I've gotten it through my birth mother? I did have another test done 2 years ago, but it said I didn't have any signs hepatitis C.

All suspected allergins were removed but she still experiences anaphylactic type symptoms requiring Epipen and Reactin which increases the blood pressure. If anyone could provide some insight or possible explanations it would be greatly appreciated.
Since we met I am not able to kiss, touch gently or make love to this person since I know of the staphylococcus he has in his leg. I want to know if it is contagious, I am being very difficult not accepting his touch or kiss or making love, yet he has been very patient, and I feel something for him. Any advice?
