410850 tn?1229178711 (I had to use an Epipen once for an allergic reaction...The self injector had a freaking NAIL on the end! LOL)...may you be blessed with few sides! I'm learning the hard way to pace myself...so, I'll pass on the advice...lol Baby yourself...Don't go at full speed when you're feeling a moment of energy...Hey, have you notice your boobs getting any bigger? Avatar n tn m also allergic to several medications (antibiotics) and my doctor said I might need an epipen when I take them to keep me alive until I get to a hospital. Just about all antibiotics close my throat. But I thought epipens contained epiphenephrine, and was told by a friend that it's bad for those with a heart arrhythmia. Has anyone here with PVCs had to use an epipen for an anaphlactic shock reaction, and if so, was it safe for the heart? Thanks.
Avatar f tn This weekend was horrible, I had two reaction to the water, on friday it was with rain, and had to give me 2 shoots of Epipen, and than I was better but shaking badly from the Epipen, and yesturday just by sweat I did a reaction and again the Epipen but just once, and I didnt even went to the hospital after, his that dangerous if I dont go???? And his it dangerous I have to many shoots?????
Avatar n tn Hello I have severe reactions from insect stings especially bee stings. Its so bad that 1 or 2 stings will put me into anaphylactic shock. I have over 5000+ PVC's a day and the docs say it is a supposed benign condition. (which I do not believe). My wife has never had a pvc or palpitations. Anyways, I have to carry around a epipen everywhere I go. Last year I was working in my back yard and was stung twice, once in the face under the eye and once in my arm.
1307298 tn?1305946851 I called SS today and they told me not to use that injector and they are sending me a new one ASAP. They asked for the lot number on the injector because the company tracks any problems with the injectors. She didn't say whether or not this was a common problem. Until I get it, I will have to give myself the shot the "regular" way -- never done that before -- except in practice with the training nurse. Wish me luck!
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, as such epipen are not available yet. Epipen delivers a measured dose of epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) using autoinjector technology, most frequently for the treatment of acute allergic reactions to avoid or treat the onset of anaphylactic shock. In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding. Alternatively, the same drug can be given by the local health care provider or you need to go to emergency department.
Avatar f tn Has anyone else gotten the new Rebidose injector? I just noticed there is no way to adjust the depth setting. I was at setting 1 on Rebif. I'm a nervous wreck about injecting tonight, because at 76#s, I have no fat.
233622 tn?1279334905 I just tried the auto injector for my Betaseron and it worked great. To my surprise it did not hurt! It is getting very difficult to push the medication in manually so I think this is the perfect answer!
1040373 tn?1273687488 The little bit of medication that seeps out, is not enough to where you are not getting your proper dose. Not to worry. I have this seepage all the time. Especially if I do my thighs. My thighs hurt worse with injections, so I try not to use them at all. Michael is right, do not use the auto-injector to do the thighs. It does make it hurt worse. The thighs do seem to bleed a little bit more than other areas.
Avatar m tn I started taking Copaxone 4 years ago when I was diagnosed with MS at the age of 60 and I have been using the auto injector. About 11 months ago I went from the daily shot of Copaxone to the 3 times per week dose. All was going well until about 6 months ago when (for lack of a better word) I started having "misfires"...
645800 tn?1466860955 Both times (the first with standard needle and syring, second with epipen) I could not inject myself despite the fact that I could die any minute. So are they all injections? If they are is there some way anyone knows that I can get someone to give me the shots if needed? I live alone so there is no family around that I can get to give me any shots. For example would it be possible to have my shrink do an Rx to have someone give me the shots and have it be covered by insurance?
413836 tn?1206465112 One thing I just thought of...make SURE your injector is still set at the same depth as when you FIRST started injecting. I have mine set on 6. And as Jen says, you may be having a slight flair-up of the MS. I still wouldn't take any chances and place a call to your doctor. Better safe than sorry.
1532707 tn?1312155924 and other areas. The biggest thing to remember is that if you are using the injector, you may have to switch the injector seetings for different areas. "5" if you can pinch an inch. 8-10 if you can pinch two inches or more. I don't use the injector and the only place I seem to get welts anymore is in the upper thighs. The abdomen and back of my arms seem to be the least painful for me.
220917 tn?1309784481 And ess, my darling lady, I too, would love to know how the injection went. I have had some injection site lumps come up using the auto-injector, so I went back to self injecting my Copaxone, which now only results in a slight rising of the skin. Seems to work for me. Hope the auto-injector is working for you. Did they suggest you put it on number "6" depth level? That seems to work better. But if you are real thin where you are injecting number 4 works just as well.
Avatar n tn i just got a medi jet injector and on every injection i get a red dot and bleeding; on my thigh. i am using the injector A, which i assume has a smaller injection area. is there something i hsould know to help this?
1532707 tn?1312155924 Many times nothing, most times just a drop (clear, not blood), a few times a quarter size on tissue and once there was a gusher. You may be removing the needle too quickly after injecting. I do a casual count to ten once the injector is finished and then hold gentle pressure at the site for several seconds after removing the needle (straight out).
382218 tn?1341181487 However, I have noticed that sometimes, when I pull the cap off of the syringe by pulling off the gray end of the auto-injector, a couple of drops of medication will come out of the syringe before I can get it injected. And sometimes after the injection when I pull the needle away, there is a bit of the liquid on the surface of my skin. I mentioned it to my caseworker at Rebif and she was surprised this was happening.
Avatar m tn I did not see the whole procedure of the doctor open a new injector. I was worrying if the injector does not clean. But at that morning, 4 of the people all shows negative. is it possible that the doctor hide a needle with high concentration of HIV virus? after that, I have been checked again for 27 days and 34 days, can I be get rid of getting infected with HIV? does the window for needle sharing be more longer than sexual infected?
Avatar f tn I jst got one for a travel kit and it is so much smoother than my other one, I was surprised. I would think you have a faulty injector and not bad syringes. Either way, SS should review this problem and fix it. I know you have been at this for a while, so inexperience is not the answer.
Avatar n tn I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.
Avatar f tn You may need an Epipen if it becomes more severe but in the meantime see a physician and buy some Benadryl.
Avatar m tn Daoughter visited a governmental approved clinic to take the first shot of the hepatitis B vaccine, the nurse was not wearing gloves, and after she prepared the two shots for them (which were new and she prepared it in front of us), then she started with the son, she pulled a small medical thick cotton like piece from a metal container which was not wet and she swapped above the elbow by around 10 cm with it and she just removed the injector (syrenge) plastic which cover the needle and inserted
