Epipen get high

Common Questions and Answers about Epipen get high

epipen

Avatar m tn High level of IgE can be a result of some sort of infection or parasite also it can be that high because of some allergen that is constantly present in his environment or food (short list of most common allergens http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allergen)... Changing of environment, like going to mountains or to seaside for some time can help.
Avatar n tn m also allergic to several medications (antibiotics) and my doctor said I might need an epipen when I take them to keep me alive until I get to a hospital. Just about all antibiotics close my throat. But I thought epipens contained epiphenephrine, and was told by a friend that it's bad for those with a heart arrhythmia. Has anyone here with PVCs had to use an epipen for an anaphlactic shock reaction, and if so, was it safe for the heart? Thanks.
Avatar n tn I was thinking that maybe the epipen would cause me to have a heart attack or a serious arrhythmia before I could get to the ER after using the epipen. (Jondsam, I'm told my heart is okay despite the many PVCs each day, and I have a hard time believing it too.) I also wondered whether use of the epipen could cause permanent changes in the kind of PVCs a person has, and now I feel better about that too.
Avatar f tn This weekend was horrible, I had two reaction to the water, on friday it was with rain, and had to give me 2 shoots of Epipen, and than I was better but shaking badly from the Epipen, and yesturday just by sweat I did a reaction and again the Epipen but just once, and I didnt even went to the hospital after, his that dangerous if I dont go???? And his it dangerous I have to many shoots?????
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, as such epipen are not available yet. Epipen delivers a measured dose of epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) using autoinjector technology, most frequently for the treatment of acute allergic reactions to avoid or treat the onset of anaphylactic shock. In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding. Alternatively, the same drug can be given by the local health care provider or you need to go to emergency department.
Avatar n tn I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.
1639028 tn?1300617084 if you do do you struggel emotionally as well? what is it like for you? what symptoms do you get? how many reactions have you suffered from?
Avatar f tn I have carried an epipen for the last 11 years for my son and Thank God we have not had to use it. But I was wondering if anyone did have an experience like this and had to use an epipen. Or if you have any information on urticaria pigmentosa? ( I know alot about it but I always would like to know more. Please share any information you may have or experiences you incountered.
Avatar f tn Hi catie, Well you don't have to take meds for food allergies - unless you eat the foods you're allergic to of course! Zyrtec is for the airborne allergies, such as pollen and dog hair, it's a strong antihistamine (anti-allergy) and its side affects can make you drowsy, but it doesn't affect me. I only take it during hay fever season, and avoid dogs. It's better than remembering to take a pill every day!
Avatar f tn Get tested for allergies. It sounds like you have ingested or been exposed to something that is an allergen (to you). You may need an Epipen if it becomes more severe but in the meantime see a physician and buy some Benadryl.
Avatar f tn I've responded twice it won't post so I'll try again. Thank you all for your responses. @cary I will let my doc know. @Jen I didn't know about epipen I wonder how can I get this. But I do wonder if benedryl its sufficient. @kel I didn't feel the itching until I moved up to the 44mcg. The itching is only sometimes but I do itch in my injection sites. @silowe I smiled when you called me Mo. No new medications and thanks for looking the info up.
Avatar f tn Has anyone any experience with developing widespead multiple chemical sensitivity and allergic reactions to all kinds of foods and unknown allergens involving swelling of the tongue and respiratory distress following a medication for high blood pressure? This is a senior citizen who is in otherwise very good health but is losing so much weight because she cannot eat anything and this is baffling doctors.
230262 tn?1316645934 d suggest you get a pediatric Epipen. Personally I keep 2 on hand. You should have 1 at school for him and one either in your purse or at home. He should have one available at all times. These allergies accelerate quickly. Check for dosage with your doctor, but you can also use benadryl for allergic reactions. I'm so sorry this happened to your children. These stings hurt horribly! And right now with school starting, you all have enough on your plate. Good luck at the clinic tonight.
3986919 tn?1352125983 They pretty much ruled out MS. ONE of my many blood tests came back high.....Tryptase....so I was sent to a hematologist. High tryptase is found in Mast Cell disease. Since I stopped taking prednisone....I was on it for 1 1/2 years.....my symptoms have rapidly increased. I am now getting hives with my flushing episodes and have developed a bad rash on my chest and it is spreading. I saw the hematologist today.....she said I haven't had any tests yet...EXCUSE ME!??
645800 tn?1466860955 t know if my technique is transferable or not but hope you will use it and get back to me and let me know. At least you would get lots of practice attempts with the blood sugar testing :) Warning: This will take many more than one attempt! Whatever works is going to take time and practice. It will be well worth it though if you end up on a DMD or (I hope NOT) encounter another winged creature that stings you into a life-or-death emergency.
Avatar f tn t feel too good since the pollen was high, the temp was high and it was humid. I had a foggy brain and was dizzy. At the restaurant I ordered grilled chicken with white rice and black beans. My husband had sweet potato fries and fried shrimps. I had one of his fries. Thirty min later I was flusing, dizzy, itchy, short of breath and heart palpitating. I took two benadryls and used my inhaler. The day after I had diahrea.
1201433 tn?1328997637 forgot to ask what geno are you ? If you are 2or3 the common consensus is to treat 24wks and not to wait.
Avatar f tn I am complaining for the last 4 1/2 years of no energy, very sluggish metabolism, gaining weight, my allergies tripled, I have to carry epipen now, plus I am very easily irritated. I am a single parent of two little children. The third doctor put me on Synthroid 0.05m, and I felt great right away, my energy, good mood and libido was back. Even my children said I am a better mom on pills.
Avatar m tn Nicotine is a vasoconstricter, meaning it makes it harder to pump blood through microcirculation. Furthermore there is no antidote. Nicotine is is absolutely contraindicated. You have a potentially life-threatening problem that cannot be solved by home remedies. You do not know when the situation may deteriorate into what is called a "locked-lung" resulting in death. The fact you have observed the symtoms progressively get worse over a period of time disturbs me.
Avatar m tn For a couple of years I started having this reaction to mangoes, where my lips burn and start to get crusty, and it has developed to that, my mouth gets itchy and dry, and my throat becomes raw. My aunt who used to be a RN gave me something called aclivor (both a pill and some kind of paste for my lips) which seemed to work for the first event. But lately, I've been running out of the paste and the only place I can find aclivor is on online pharmacies from Mexico.
20451547 tn?1498215245 I have been having panic attacks ever since early 2015 when I was first ever stang by a wasp and went into anaphylactic shock.(the er doctor said I am allergic to bees/wasps/hornets venom. That day I was rushed back into the er and bum rushed by 5 different nurses and a doctor, one nurse asking me which arm I want the epipen in? I am like Idc I can't breath stab me! ) I almost died that day, and now I have been having panic attacks almost every other day.
Avatar f tn just as a warning, these type of allergies can cause more severe reactions the more you are exposed, so next time it happens it could be much worse. I would go to a doctor and get an epipen (spelling?). hopefully you will never need it, but it might save your life.
Avatar f tn The bite is already swollen to about the size of a golf ball and will probably get worse. Should I be concerned that it could hurt the baby? I already have a dr appt first thing in the morning.
Avatar n tn Since then I was taught to avoid fish and fish was never cooked my apartment. If my parents wanted to eat fish we would get a table on the terrace of a fish restaurant where I could eat a non fish meal without any reaction. However, recently I had multiple incidents where I accidentally ate food that I did think had any fish in them. First I had salmon flavoured cream cheese that I thought was regular creme cheese. Second time around I had nachos with some sauce that had bits of salmon in it.
Avatar f tn I did also a food intolerance test on him - blood test type - and it came up with high intolerance to gluten, cow dairy, camel milk, almonds, sunflower seeds and slightly lower on yeast. After following this new diet, he is ok, but breaks out when he eats much of what is on that 'forbidden' list. the swimming season starts and I will be watching closely but so far, doesn't seem to be breaking out heavily. he is 7 years old.
Avatar m tn I now carry an epipen but would really like to track down the food that caused me to go into shock. Has anyone had such a reaction to chives or green onions without being allergic to other foods in that family? Thanks for any help you can give me.
