epipen cost us

I have a friend who says she uses Benadryl for her allergies to ants and bees rather than an epipen because of the cost. I don't think I'd feel safe doing that, though. Again, thanks a bunch!

m also allergic to several medications (antibiotics) and my doctor said I might need an epipen when I take them to keep me alive until I get to a hospital. Just about all antibiotics close my throat. But I thought epipens contained epiphenephrine, and was told by a friend that it's bad for those with a heart arrhythmia. Has anyone here with PVCs had to use an epipen for an anaphlactic shock reaction, and if so, was it safe for the heart? Thanks.

This weekend was horrible, I had two reaction to the water, on friday it was with rain, and had to give me 2 shoots of Epipen, and than I was better but shaking badly from the Epipen, and yesturday just by sweat I did a reaction and again the Epipen but just once, and I didnt even went to the hospital after, his that dangerous if I dont go???? And his it dangerous I have to many shoots?????

Epipen delivers a measured dose of epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) using autoinjector technology, most frequently for the treatment of acute allergic reactions to avoid or treat the onset of anaphylactic shock. In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding. Alternatively, the same drug can be given by the local health care provider or you need to go to emergency department.

In California, it cost us about $18K out of pocket with all the meds (my husband had to do an extraction,though, so that tacked on $2500). The cost can vary some depending on what your particular issues are. But yes, it's very expensive if your insurance does not cover at least part of it.

I have been having panic attacks ever since early 2015 when I was first ever stang by a wasp and went into anaphylactic shock.(the er doctor said I am allergic to bees/wasps/hornets venom. That day I was rushed back into the er and bum rushed by 5 different nurses and a doctor, one nurse asking me which arm I want the epipen in? I am like Idc I can't breath stab me! ) I almost died that day, and now I have been having panic attacks almost every other day.

I am very allergic to bee and wasp stings to the point that I can die from a sting within about 1/2 hour or so. As a result I am suppose to carry an EpiPen with me at all times ( especially since there are a lot of wasps and bees around my home ). But despite this the couple of times I have been stung I have never been able to give myself the much needed shot. And to make matter worse I always have 2 reactions to each sting.

just as a warning, these type of allergies can cause more severe reactions the more you are exposed, so next time it happens it could be much worse. I would go to a doctor and get an epipen (spelling?). hopefully you will never need it, but it might save your life.

I want to become a mother again. I have a 19 y/o. I am a newly wed. My husband has no children we are considering IVF but it is so costly. Not sure if I am able d/t high FSH. didn't get result for AMH as of yet. But if its not possible for me to have one biologically we are considering using DE. My question. Is it cheaper using a family or friend as a donor in comparison using an anonymous donor. Where I am living, it cost $16,500 for DE...IVF cost almost $20,000.

I now carry an epipen but would really like to track down the food that caused me to go into shock. Has anyone had such a reaction to chives or green onions without being allergic to other foods in that family? Thanks for any help you can give me.

hello again, thanks to all the people that responded. was wondering about the cost of meds. interferon and ribavirin, im checking with my ins. to see what they will cover. i may have misspoke about this thing on hepititusccure.net i dont think it is herbal? it deals with fatty liver tissue. but its only 50 bucks to read about it so i dont really have anything to lose. going back to doc in 3 mo. not sure why till i decide on tx. if tx takes care of virus, do people go back to normal lifestyle?

With the talk of EpiPen in Michelle's post earlier today it got me thinking about my problem with needles and other self infecting skin damage devices. I am hoping that maybe someone will have some ideas or at least where to look for help with this. My problem isn't the normal fear of needles. I can get shot or blood drawn with no problems. Well except I have to be able to watch what is going on.If I can't see it happening I will pass out.

I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.

You may need an Epipen if it becomes more severe but in the meantime see a physician and buy some Benadryl.

I have carried an epipen for the last 11 years for my son and Thank God we have not had to use it. But I was wondering if anyone did have an experience like this and had to use an epipen. Or if you have any information on urticaria pigmentosa? ( I know alot about it but I always would like to know more. Please share any information you may have or experiences you incountered.

Yes, I take Rebif as well and I don't have any injection site problems. I just started 3 weeks ago though. But I take it at night right before I go to sleep. If I do it during the day, I get realllllllly sleepy. Hope everything turns out ok!

But over the past 12 months I have started to learn a bit of what thing cost, and it appears that even if you go private they are considerabley cheaper than in the US which to me dosen't seem quite right. In the Uk it is only a tiny percentage of people go private and even if you do, if you are suffering a long term illness you tend to be pushed over to the NHS as they have the specialists and equipment.

I'm a healthy 24 year old female from Ohio.. have had all kinds of indoor and outdoor allergies since childhood, but around age 21, I developed several food allergies. mainly tree nuts, some beans, and fruit. I recently was retested to see if any of them went away, and it has only gotten severely worse! longer list of nuts, fruits, beans... it's beginning to seem the list of things I CAN eat is shorter than the list of things I CAN'T eat.
