Common Questions and Answers about Epipen cost australia

epipen

Avatar n tn I have a friend who says she uses Benadryl for her allergies to ants and bees rather than an epipen because of the cost. I don't think I'd feel safe doing that, though. Again, thanks a bunch!
Avatar n tn m also allergic to several medications (antibiotics) and my doctor said I might need an epipen when I take them to keep me alive until I get to a hospital. Just about all antibiotics close my throat. But I thought epipens contained epiphenephrine, and was told by a friend that it's bad for those with a heart arrhythmia. Has anyone here with PVCs had to use an epipen for an anaphlactic shock reaction, and if so, was it safe for the heart? Thanks.

And his it dangerous I have to many shoots?????
6742119 tn?1391418728 The founder of the company that discovered the Sovaldi hepatitis C drug, which has been listed with a cost of $1,000 for a single pill, says that it’s fairly cheap to make the basic ingredients for this well-regarded new medicine. It may cost only about $1,400 to manufacture a 12-week supply, or 84 pills, of the key ingredient in Sovaldi, excluding the costs of manufacturing plants, solvents, formulation, encapsulating and marketing.
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, as such epipen are not available yet. Epipen delivers a measured dose of epinephrine (also known as adrenaline) using autoinjector technology, most frequently for the treatment of acute allergic reactions to avoid or treat the onset of anaphylactic shock. In certain cases it can be used to stop local bleeding. Alternatively, the same drug can be given by the local health care provider or you need to go to emergency department.

Avatar f tn how much this may cost I would know whether or not I should travel back to Australia where I can have it done for free there. I have a complex nodule on my Thyroid gland measuring up to 2.6cm. Any input into the cost of these procedures would be greatly appreciated.
1430704 tn?1306387507 t know where in the world you live and will presume you are in USA. Here in Australia it cost me around $300 per treatment. I had two treatments done about 6 weeks apart You can't have it done sooner, it takes that long for the veins to collapse. The stockings are extremely expensive too, over $125 a pair. I don't know how much they would be in USA. I can't recommend anyone unless you live in Melbourne, Australia! Cheers!
760862 tn?1243097304 It sounds like something that works but, it didnt have any information about cost or benefits, just told about the procedure. So, any info. out there?
Avatar n tn I am interested in how much these pumps cost (including all the accesories one needs). We are in Australia so if anyone also knew the name of a distributor or distributors for these devices, it would be good. I appreciate any comments or news on the above. Thanks. Peter.
Avatar f tn You can now get it done in Australia but you will need to pay for it - cost about $2k and not covered by medicare or private healthfund (if in Australia). the blood sample will be taken in Australia but will be shipped to Sequenom in San Diengo for testing as we do not have lab facility here yet. Good luck and hope this post is useful.
Avatar n tn We had it done. Im in the u.s. and it took 2 weeks to get back. My insurance covered it.
645800 tn?1466860955 I am very allergic to bee and wasp stings to the point that I can die from a sting within about 1/2 hour or so. As a result I am suppose to carry an EpiPen with me at all times ( especially since there are a lot of wasps and bees around my home ). But despite this the couple of times I have been stung I have never been able to give myself the much needed shot. And to make matter worse I always have 2 reactions to each sting.
Avatar m tn He lives on the Gold Coast, Australia, Im in NZ and want to know what to suggest. He will try get a doctors apt but its kinda urgent and being a new NZ person working in Aust, it may cost him hundreds of $ to even see a doctor…can he get a treatment over the counter in Aust?
Avatar m tn Out of curiosity say for example I did get a prescription from my doctor in Australia when this does come out and it did cost $ 70 000 USD , I know for americans even without insurance the pharmaceutical company would usually have special payment programmes or subsidise some of cost , but I am guessing a foreigner in the USA would have to pay full price is that correct ?
Avatar f tn Do you think Australia will eventually use rapid hiv tests to combat the hiv rates in Australia. I know Australia has great resources but read that they have not implemented point of care rapid tests.
Avatar n tn I was rushed to emergency, given benedryl and sent home 4 hours later. I got an Epipen for I was told, although rare, that I could have a secondary reaction within the next week. Sure enough November 5 I had a second reaction (bi-phasic reaction). I was given the epipen by my mother for I passed out and couldn't give it myself. Back to the hospital.
