Avatar n tn In one study, 50 women with thrombophilia (including 20 factor V Leiden heterozygotes) and recurrent pregnancy loss were treated with enoxaparin throughout 61 subsequent pregnancies. The live birth rate was 75% with enoxaparin prophylaxis, compared to 20% in prior untreated pregnancies [Brenner et al 2000].
Avatar n tn It turns out that portal vein and superior mesenteric vein are thrombosed. They put her on enoxaparin and wanted her to rest for 5 days until the next control. She refused to be put on heparin or warfarin because of her history of gastrointestinal bleeding and recent surgery. We've been told thrombectomy would be extremely risky, given her medical history. I read somewhere enoxaparin only prevents further occlusion of the vein and does not lyse existing clot.
Avatar m tn I am 27 weeks pregnancy and have dvt, start to using CLEXANE(ENOXAPARIN) I am really worried is there any harm to my baby Thanks & Rgards
177275 tn?1511755244 In a prime example of government bumbling they have made it difficult to get generic drugs through the approval process also while allowing pharmaceutical companies to unfairly and monopolistically raise the price of generics and brand names through the ceiling. Generic drugs that are not difficult to make and require no research that used to cost $4 at Walmart not cost $85.
667078 tn?1316000935 Another company is getting FDA approval for a generic of Copaxone which has been in production in India for two years. They will have to go through clinical trials in the U.S. Basically if you need Glatiramer Acetate, Copaxone, another company will have a generic at a lower price.
572651 tn?1530999357 My insurance only allows Provigil with diagnoses of MS or narcolepsy, neither of which I have as a limbolander. But a few months ago, I started on an off-label prescription of generic Adderall for my fatigue, and it's been a huge help. While it still isn't covered by my insurance since I don't have ADD/ADHD, I discovered that by buying it at Costco, it got the price for a month's supply down to $23 (after paying $60/month for several months at my regular pharmacy!
Avatar n tn continue through with warfarin, or to stop the warfarin and bridge in between with enoxaparin or heparin (as snconorm had done). http://www.circ.ahajournals.org/cgi/content/full/116/22/2531 So continuing through with warfarin seems to be the newer strategy. What would NOT be done is to stop anticoagulation altogether.
Avatar f tn Thanks for replying. I had a recent pelvic exam and everything seemed fine. Shorty after my initial post, I went back on the Vivelle-Dot and had only mild spotting after three weeks. That week I had forgotten to change my patch for several hours after I should have. So the Vivelle -Dot seems to have alleviated the symptoms. The difference in cost for me is $120 versus $20 for a 3-month mail-order prescription.

Avatar m tn You can tx with generic harvoni for less than $1600. There are two ppl who are helping HepC patients all over the world to tx without paying an arm and a leg. Harvoni is made out of two drugs, they are sofosbuvir and ledipasvir and these drugs are now being made in India and other countries in generic form that are just as effective as the same drug being sold in the USA for over $90,000 per tx.
1107393 tn?1263417738 Is there a differance between Synthroid and Levothyroixine? Is one a generic of the other? Which one is best? I was told that Synthyroid was better but more expensive that levothyroxine. Thanks for any input. I am a newbee.
Avatar f tn Currently you would have to pay for the entire series of gardasil shots out of pocket to get it if you are in your 30's. Cervarix by gsk covers the 2 types of hpv that cause most cervical cancers. It got a preliminary yes approval from the fda but not official approval yet I don't think. I don't know what age ranges they are going for with it either to be honest. It appears that the FDA will once again vote on gardasil for males sometime soon too.
Avatar f tn My insurance will never pay for them when and if they are ever approved because I have the Medicare Advantage HMO and it will not cover any drugs that are not Tier 1 or Tier 2 drugs... and will not cover non-generic drugs. So, basically, I feel like I am scr*wed! O Lord, please just heal me now, so that I can be done with this already!
Avatar f tn I have been on progesterone suppositories, baby asprin, folic acid, prenatal vitamins and enoxaparin.
Avatar n tn ve been off and on clonazepam and alprazolam for the past two years and always used generic, but the other day I filled the brand name Klonopin instead and noticed quite a difference. I have insurance and the copay on my generic script is usually about $2-4 for the whole month and the brand name was over $200 WITH insurance. Does anyone know of an insurance plan that covers these brand drugs to an affordable rate or any way to get a lower price on the brand name?
Avatar f tn The general concensus is that they should be avoided at all cost for your safety. Without FDA (Federal Drug Administration) approval of a medication, you have absolutely no idea what you may be taking. It could look exactly like your med, but that may be the only thing they'd have in common. It is just NOT worth the risk to your life and health. With the extremely high prices of medications, and so many of us not having insurance, it IS very tempting to use these pharmacies.
Avatar m tn How long does it take to get approval? They have started the Insurance and said that it would take a couple of weeks for the insurance. What happens after the insurance is approved? How long for the testing process?
107366 tn?1305680375 There is no approval for using Avastin for OVCA in Europe at the moment but clinical trials are under way (being led by my Wife's Gyn/Onc). Recent US trials seemed to suggest that Avastin is the bext step forward in the treatment of advanced OVCA in 20 years. (since Taxol).
