eczema on knuckles

I woke myself up a few nights ago because my hand had began to itch. When i woke up in the morning i looked at it and a rash, consisting of small, itchy, red bumps, had appeared on the knuckles of both my pointer fingers. It has been about 4 days now and the rash has spread up my pointer fingers, to the next knuckles, down the side of my hands and to my elbows. I have had a slight history of eczema, however, it was on my neck area and i have not had a flare up in about 3 years.

m a healthy 19 yr old male, I dont have any recorded allergies, however for the past year or so my Knuckles and areas around the knuckle on both hands have become red and itchy, this is the ONLY area of concern, my diet hasn't changed nor has my lifestyle, in fact I'm eating healthier and working out more, the only major change would be that i'm entering/entered stage 4 of puberty, this knuckle issue is becoming a concern as I am completely unaware of what it is, several MD's hav

I have the same issues with severe eczema and dark knuckles. Based on my researched, i think the medication steroid cream is the cause of the dark knuckle (over used). I will stop using the med steroid (clobetasol propionate) starting today. Hopefully it will turn back to normal pigmentation color in a week. I been losing sleep with this condition way too long.

m just wondering if you can get eczema later on i life because i was not born with no skin problems thats all i have to add please respond im not worried about this so take you time thank you for you time and responses take care.

my skin is cracking and there are little red bumps starting from the knuckles down. My knuckles are peeling a little bit and they look slightly blue like they are bruised. Oh and they itch Super bad.!! I scratch and now they started to bleed a little... I tried putting lotion and medicine on it but it ends up burning alot.! :c so I dont know if it has to do with my pregnancy or what but it hurts really bad... Im 27 weeks...

Hello, Writing about an event which happened yesterday, need an honest/informed opinion as to what I need to do. I was driving home when I saw a person get into an accident on their bike, so I pulled over to try and assist them until the ambulance came (was called). I went over to help, person didn't have any MAJOR injuries aside from some bone/muscle pain and some random scratches/minor cuts on hands and arm.

All over all of my fingers. In between them, on the top, on the bottom, on the sides, on my knuckles. They are painful too, it hurts to close my hand. They are very very itchy. And its odd, how something can come on full force like this with no warning or.prior signs.

I have tiny blister-like bumps on my pointer fingers, mostly on my right hand, but some on my left as well. They are also on my pinky finger knuckles. They do not itch, nor do they hurt, but they look wierd, and therefore are bothersome. I pop them and it almost looks like water comes out. Nothing pus-like. My regular doctor didnt know what they were but wasnt concerned since they didnt hurt or itch. I have no history of eczema or any other skin condition.

ve heard eczema or poison ivy, but no cortisone, oat, or antibacterial will cure. Typically, it comes and goes but now I have it on my knuckles and cracks and bumps on both hands. WHAT IS THIS??

I never really thought it was a big deal but I did bring it up during a routine physical a couple months ago and my doc thought it was just eczema (unfortunately I didn’t have it at the time to show her) but after doing research I am almost positive it isn’t eczema but I’m totally lost on what else it could be. Does anybody have any ideas?

Over the past 4-5 years i have been getting a recurring rash on my knuckles and elbows. It doesn't hurt, but it's itchy and annoying. I have dry skin on the top of both my big toes on the knuckles, sometimes it appears brown or orange even when I get out of the shower (i have very light skin). I don't get dandruff....or at least on my scalp...I seem to only get it on my forehead and eyebrows. This morning it was so bad that it looked like I had been peeling after a bad sunburn. The flakes of skin were dropping off in huge pieces. I've been told to use moisturizers...which do nothing but cause a rash. Aloe-Vera burns my skin. Allergic to something in Noxzema...causes me to stop breathing. I have very sensitive skin as you can see.

One of my middle knuckles and my pinkie finger have swollen, dry, cracked and itchy skin on the knuckle area...on my pinkie it extends down the side of my finger somewhat. Does anyone have any idea what this might be and what I can do to fix it. I am awaiting insurance to get instated before going to the doctor, so I am trying to figure out what to do in the meantime. ve had this itch on top of hands more accurate on top of my nuckles. i put on cortizone 10 because a pharmacist said it was eczema. that did not help it spread the rash more nore it is discolored. whent to hosp,send me a cream they said it was a fungal infection.

Hi, The condition on the leg appears to be varicose veins which may have caused the eczema on the ankles and legs. do you involuntarily scratch the area? This may or may not be linked. To confirm this as a lesion which is linked a test and examination would be required. on the other hand if this is not man made then more treatment may be indicated.

My knuckles have red, itchy patches on them too! They crack open and bleed. I know it's because of the cold weather and from always having my hands in soapy water at work. I try lotion, but it hurts and why put lotion on when I have tons of dishes to wash at work, sanatizer water, washing my hands? I just wash the lotion off seconds after I put it on anyway. I work in a cafe at Barnes and Noble, so my hands are constantly in sanatizer water and soap. A customer told me try vaseline.

I occasionally break out with itchy, painful bumps on my knuckles and elbows. They are skin-colored or slightly reddened, hardish bumps, no weeping or oozing at all. If I lean just right on my elbow they cause sharp pain. I believe it may be viral of some sort, because they seem to only appear when life is stressful. They itch like crazy- almost as bad as poison ivy, which I've had a lot. Has anyone else experienced this or have any diagnosis or treatment ideas?

My fingers do function somewhat normally I can bend them fully closed and open, but my ringer finger requires more effort to straighten out fully. so yeah I'm basically wondering what it is, and why it has happened.

As in... hours, both my hands have become very dry. Right one is starting to crack. It wasn't like this yesterday. I figured, low humidity. Steam not helping, all the windows are open and it's a very foggy night, not helping. Heater is off, not helping either. There are no blisters, but cracks are forming near the knuckles. Skin is getting more and more red. I've never been diagnosed with eczema before.

s weird whenever I dont feel well I notice that my knuckles swlell and some sort of ecsema on my knees and my elbow. and when i feel better they just disapear.

Before that time, right up to the present, I have noticed some subtle but nonetheless strange changes to the texture of the skin on my knuckles and fingers. In all affected areas, it creates a slightly different pattern on the surface of my skin. In certain places, it produces either a darkening effect or sometimes, seems to produce a thickening of the skin and a keratin buildup. My dermatologist at the time referred to the texture as “pebbly” but didn’t seem to think it was a big deal.

What are these red, tender bumps the size of a pencil eraser on the tops of my knuckles on my fingers adjacent to the bed of my fingernails. I have assumed they were arthritic in nature. This discussion is related to <a href='/posts/show/243275'>Bumps on backs of hands, knuckles</a>.

In response to the original post and to rob277x, I have had similar itchy bumps on my elbows and on my knuckles. They are small patches of bumpy skin on the outsides of those two jointed areas. They do not look anything like the pictures I have found of Dermatitis Herpetiformis, Granuloma annulare, nor do I have the multi-system wide symptoms described by addy331.

I used to have a serious condition picking at my knuckles and now my skin on my thumb has turned into a hard calloused lump...the creases on my knuckle is gone and it is very thick and looks ugly.
