does skelaxin have a generic

My pain clinic is no longer writing for soma. I have had flexeril,robaxin,skelaxin before and they aren't as effective. What can I try?

Having some very bad lower back pain today that tylenol isn't touching. I was wondering about Skelaxin. I have some and have taken it in the past...but don't even remember side effects or how I felt taking it or anything. Is this addictive?Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!

I am prescribed Celebrex and skelaxin. I have a question about the skelaxin. Well my job is physically demanding I work in a hospital I do patient care I "boost" patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago.

I am doing this therapy and I hope I can get myself back in shape and maybe that will help too. Thanks for your reply and I agree the Skelaxin does make me feel kind of heavy. I have only taken it at night. I wonder if it would help to wd from the hydro since I don't have any valiume (sp)?

It is an expensive drug, but so was our habit. I understand that it does not work for everybody, but I certainly think it is worth a shot for some of you. Let me know what you think. Do you think taking Lyrica is cheating? I do feel a little guilty, because when I took it my body went ahhhh. I thought it would work like a stronger aspirin, but it works much better.

I have never been much of a drinker, if i had 5 drinks/year that was a lot. In the last year I have found that I enjoy a glass of wine or two in the evening. At the most I may drink 1-2 glasses 4 nights/week but usually less. What do you think is the most likely cause of elevated liver emzymes? How high is considered alarming?

Luckily, I don't have MS. I have injuries due to a bad mva. Herniated discs in neck and back. Although, sometimes I feel like I have all the symptoms of ms. Anyway, day 3 of the new muscle relaxer, Tizanidine and it really helps me sleep. I'm not really sure if my body feels any better, yet. But, it def knocks you out. I would not drive on this and I seem to have a high tolerance for meds. I keep people informed on this drug has it starts to really kick in.....I hope. Thanks again!

By any chance did you switch from brand name synthroid to a generic? Sometimes the levels of thyroid hormones in generic just aren't as consistent as they should be. However, it just might be your body adjusting to all the changes - I had a TT in May '06 and had perfectly good levels until my 3 month followup, when I went hypo and needed a dosage increase. I'd call you doctor and tell them your symptoms and ask to have your thyroid levels tested.

I was diagnosed at age 16, and have been on several powerful medications. Skelaxin and Relafin are two which have helped most, but go to a doctor and explain the pain you are experiencing to them! If they are a good doctor at all, they will help you to alleviate the pain with a mix of medication and physical therapy as they did with me. I wish you the best.

I have been MIA again for awhile. Have been very sick. Even had a hospital stay, which produced nothing!!! Thats a story for another time. I have not felt like doing ANYTHING. My husband had a bike accident on Sunday landing on his head (helmet) & shoulder. No Insurance. Went to ER. After several xrays, yes he's got a broken collar bone on right side but excrutiating pain in left shoulder. Finally got a CT and confirmed small linear defect present at C7 involving C6 & C7 joint with a small non-displaced fracture. Disk space narrowing at C5-6, C6-7 with marginal posterior spurring. Moderate post bulging at C5-6, and minimal post bulging at C3-4.

I have been seeing this neruro dr for about 5 months now she did diagnoise me with fibromyalgia, cfs, & neuropathy. We are trying to find ways to control the pain. When I take the Ultram, it makes my face break out with little bumps on my checks. Has this happenned to anyone else? My current meds are really not working, I have to go between Ultram & Vicodin, and Skelaxin for a muscle relaxer. I use Lyrica but is causes my ankles and hands to swell.

A little over 2 years ago I had surgery for a torn labrum in my right shoulder that had been torn for about 16 months due to a cheerleading accident. It's similar to a rotator cuff injury, but is still its own unique injury. The labrum is the cartilaginous cup that holds the head of the humerus in place. Anyways, even after surgery it took about a year to start feeling better.

it is a wrong name for drugs just to make more money for the first drug maker who did the drug generic is the same drug made from another drug maker, this is why the name generic is very wrong, generic sounds like the drug is different but only drug maker is different.

just wanted to thank you all for the comments. I haven't taken a soma like I said I got skelaxin which I take rarely only if my back is howling in pain cuz it knocks me out into last Tuesday. I Ben doing tons of stretching and I tolerate a little discomfort. I'd rather have a little discomfort than deal with a soma habit. Not saying if u take soma your a junkie or anything lol I just know myself well enough not to touch it. Prayers for everyone,.

Can anyone tell me if there is something more I can do to get these drugs out of my system more quickly besides taking a lot more drugs? Also, does anyone know if a natural sleep aid like Melatonin will help? Thanks.

oh and broke down and took a muscle relaxer. skelaxin. this shouldn't be a problem right? found an old script. ibuprofen was not cutting it.

I certainly noticed a huge difference in Effexor and the generic form. When I was withdrawing I did have to go onto the generic as it comes in tablet form which I could then cut up. Hope you can get the real Effexor, and I am glad you are feeling so much better on it. It would be nice if you could get your meds free too. Take care.

I am a 29 year old female in good shape. 5'8 and weigh 130. Does anyone know where I would take this next? SYMPTOMS (not constant but for majority of the day) Aching legs, shoulders, and left arm. Tingling sensation in left arm and face Warm sensation in legs…almost feels “numb” sometimes Left side of neck hurts…feels kinked. Ears sometimes ache. Left chest, and back ache sometimes. Body in general aches (unless moving) Fatigued Nauseous I feel very “off” and not normal.

I am a nurse but I never cared for a patient who had one.I dont remember learning about it in school.I have had a hip replacement,a c-section,and a hysterectomy pluse two knee surgies.I was ok after six weeks.this is different.After a year I have pain from my left shoulder to my left breast.The pain is in my upper back in the scapular region.I have a large lump of fiberous muscle tissue under my left breast.

s had problems with holding her urine. At times it will just come out. She was put on a med. from the Vet. Does anyone know of a generic brand or natural one that will do the same. I can't keep going back paying office visits everytime she needs a new med.

He did give me some muscle relaxers that they thought might help because I have a knot in the lower muscle of my back. May be they can help and I can stop taking the hydros for a while. They told me they were new, as soon as I pick them up I will see if any of you guys have tried them before. Wish me luck.

So not sure how long you have been on this but usually a patient once they are used to the side effects and they have diminshed is moved up to get better nerve pain relief. I do agree with getting at least 2 other opinions from Board Certified Neurosurgeons (make sure they are Fellowship trained as well) to see if surgery is really needed. Things have advanced in the last 11 years so it may be something that can help stabalize your spine. I've had 3 fusions over the last 11 years.....
