I was told NOT to take any other medications like advil, ibuprophen, tylenol etc while on meloxicam. I am currently on Meloxicam, but you might want to double check with your doctor.
I was "diagnosed" with psoriatic arthritis severala years ago. I use quotes becasue a doctor looked at my swollen thumb and said "yup, psoriatic arthritis". I've got a doctors appointment (different doctor) because I've developed chronic joint pain in my fingers and left wrist and a wierd splotchy rash on my forearms and shins that doesn't itch, isn't hot to the touch and isn't disseminated any place else on my body.
I have arthritis in both knees and hands. The doctors say it is not RA , they think maybe psoriatic arthritis since I now have psoriasis of the scalp that was brought on during treatment for hep c (clear) My question is that I have heard of another arthritis associated with autoimmune disorders but they didn't have a name for it. Does anyone else here have psoriatic arthritis and what are your symptoms the doctor told me that it resembles RA and is crippling.
ve been on Enbrel for about 5 years and it has been an extremely good medication for both the psoriasis and the psoriatic arthritis. My concern is what am I going to do now that my husband is retired and my health insurance won't cover the cost. I live in Canada and the cost of this medication is approximately $22,000.00 a year which my husband's company insurance covered but now that he is retired, it will not cover the cost for my lifetime.
I was wondering if a doctor thinks it's possible that I may have psoratic arthritis. I have had psoriasis for years, I am overweight and have had problems with my joints in my knees hurting for a few years now. They hurt so bad I cannot bend to the floor without having something to pull myself up with.
I also take meloxicam, and tylenol is about the only thing that I know of that can be taken in conjunction with it. You still need to be careful not to take more than the prescribed dosages, though.
I believe there were studies done recently that showed too many people take over the counter tylenol, believing it's safe - too much of it is hard on the liver. Most people really only need one regular strength tylenol, not two extra strength.

I used to take a drug for psoriatic arthritis that can induce MS or MS-like symptoms in rare cases. I had tingling and numbness on the left side of my face, extending down through my left arm. I also had burning sensations in my fingertips, and buzzing in my fingertips, along with recurrent uveitis. I was MRIed twice. The first time I had 1 lesion, and the second (one month later) there were 3 more lesions. I was taken off the drug and I didn't have any symptoms.
I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. I have normal blood results, no elevated numbers on test results. I have swelling and edema in right hand fingers and knees, I have some joint pain and some hives at times.No psoriasis on me. I am in my late twenties my doctor wants me to take embrel. I do not have typical back symptoms of this type of arthritis. I need a diagnosis, What could this be? I tend to get stressed and that causessome symptoms to be stronger.
I suffer quite badly from Psoriatic Arthritis. I have no signs of Psoriasis, but my joints are inflammed and very painful. I'm 33, female. I'm taking 25mg of Methotrexate weekly, other anit-inflammatroy drugs. Please help. I have been sick for two years. I'm 22 years old. I have heterogeneous echotexture on my thyroid gland and normal T3, T4 and TSH readings (TSH: 3.77). I had low Vitamin D, which is now resolved by a 2000IU supplement, daily (PSH was normal: 2.7). I have menstrual spotting, a week after the end of each period. I have gained weight rapidly (20 pounds in the past 2 months). I have a lot of intense back pain, mostly in my neck, but also everywhere else.
how does one differentiate between the two diseases?
My ANA was 1:800 and 1:640 (tested by two different labs). Is this relevant to the diagnosis?
The RF and CCP were negative.
I don't know about the rash but the joint pain could be arthritis depending on your age.
Hi there! I was just prescribed meloxicam 15mg for arthritis along with prilosec for acid reflux. I was wondering if you could tell me if meloxicam would be better for pain relief compared to 800mg ibuprofen. Also does it take time for meloxicam to build up in my body for maximum benefit? If so, how long does it take? Thanks very much!
