I've been taking Keflex and Prednisone for an ear infection that I've had for 2 months (this is my 3rd antibiotic in the last 2 months) and I have developed a very red rash starting right below the opening of my vagina, the skin beside it(kinda the start of my ver inner butt cheek), all the way up to my anus. The rash is itchy and sore (esp on my anus). It looks like a severe diaper rash. I've seen this type of rash on a friends child who had an external yeast infection.
Could this cause a yeast infection so bad that Diflucan is not working? I now have to go to a specialist. Im a hypochondriac but I just wan to know what's wrong with me already! Please help! If this infact just yeast why won't it go away!? And how will the specialists get it to go away since the the Diflucan isn't working. I've also taken flagyl which says no trich and no vaganoisis please help?

So I've had a yeast infection since I found out I was pregnant. My doctor finally gave me a prescription to get diflucan. But my insurance want pay for it because they he said it is a risk for the baby. Has this happened to anyone else? Or have you taken diflucan and everything turned out fine? Three weeks ago I had an oral surgery and the doctor prescribed me penicillin for 10 days. On the second day I started to itch and I knew I had a yeast infection. I consulted a doctor and was told that it would not help to prescribe the diflucan until I was done with the meds. I always get yeast infections after oral sex with my boyfriend. It hasnt always been like this but after the first time i got one they have always came back after oral. We got my boyfriend a diflucan to take but it didnt seem to help. what can i do to stop these other than stopping oral sex completely.
Yes you can also ask your doc for an oral diflucan too to try to clear it up. also fyi - if this is a recently acquired hsv2 infection for you genitally, it won't show up on a std panel this quickly.
vagintis can trigger hsv2 to shed. avoid sex at this point until a few days after she's completed her yeast treatments. is she on daily suppressive therapy to lower your risk?
I been taking diflucan pills and using cream proscibed by my doc.the last yeast infection I had they gave me the seven day treatment...u been done taking the but last I had sex with mii faince n when I when to the restroom it burned for me to pee ...I thought that was over with bc that the problem I been having but now the yeast is gne I didn't think this should be happening.... after taking the meds I waited over a week to have sex ....WHATS THE BIG DEAL WITH THIS AM FED UP WITH IT ..
im 28 rys old, female and married. i've been suffering a yeast infection for almost 2 months now due to antibiotics. first the doctor gave me 7 day vaginal cream clotrimazole. But then, i still have the burning sensation after 7 days treatment. so i went to another doctor, and she gave me diflucan 150mg one pill only.i took it for the past 7 days. she said i would not have sex for 1 week. it will remains in my body for many days. but how come, i still have the burning sensation?
Is it Diflucan? I got a yeast infection every pregnancy, and I've taken the oral meds. Mine was a small pill and you can even take a follow-up dose if needed.
I never had any problems and if your Dr. said it's okay, than I would go ahead and take it. Yeast infections are miserable and the sooner you clear it, the better.
Everytime we have sex I get irritable and land up with an yeast infection. I have this unbareable itch. It has ruined my sex life. I researched quite a bit, and thought i might have a yeast infection and possible balanitis. I bought over the counter monistat and applied for a few days. The swelling went down and my foreskin began to produce this whitish patch on my foreskin. When i applied the topical antifungal and allowed the foreskin to cover the head overnight, and the next morning when i pull the foreskin back, i have quite a bit of "yeast' or "smegma" covering the white patch.
It sounds as though it could possibly be herpes? You could google herpes and see what they look like and compare to what you have. Have you been to an obgyn? I would definitely suggest that. If it was a yeast infection the diflucan and creams should have worked. I"ve never heard of open sores with a yeast infection. I hope you start to feel better soon. I know it must be very painful.
