@wayfunmommy....I have worked in healthcare for over 15 years as a nurse and now obtaining my doctorate. I am not going in blind or uneducated nor do I need your opinion on different things. I could care less what or how you give birth nor do I care about extended placenta time or epiderals or other things. I have researched far more than you even understand and have done and am currently participating in numerous clinical trials.

I found this birth plan creator and think it's brilliant. I used their template and then copied and pasted the results into a Word document so I could keep tweaking it, but it saved me a lot of time so thought it might be useful for my fellow June procrastinators. :) http://www.pregnancyandbaby.

How do you make a birth plan? How do you word it? And what should it consist of?

Also does anyone have a good birth plan template? Since I will be 37 weeks this Sunday and I am already 2 cm dilated 50% effaced, I want to get it done before my next appt... Hopefully before I go into labor.

I never gave a birth plan to my doctor. The doctor really isn't there until your 9cm and for delivery, if your induced, they'll break your water, leave and come back later. The nurses are the ones doing everything during labor.

The one of babycenter is the best one i found. Just google birth plan template babycenter. Itll have a couple pages to it and i believes it goes threw everything too.

I would like to add to that advice that diabetic complications are very real and to encourage everyone diagnosed with either form of diabetes or even pre-diabetes to take responsibility to monitor and control your blood sugars on a daily basis. We tend to trust doctors to keep us well and especially here in the U.S. we rely on medication for EVERYTHING. No doctor can follow us around 24/7 and make sure we eat right, exercise, maintain healthy weight and take the meds they actually prescribe.

I googled birth plans and found an awesome template that offered up ideas for things I hadn't even thought about like what food/drink I want brought to me after the birth and stuff like that

My doc gave me a form to fill out that was our birth plan and we just held on to it and brought it to the hospital with us. If you google birth plan template you can find some. It's nice to have it on paper to in case something happens and they don't have time to ask questions.

My new doctor gave me a birth plan template. It was so precise, like down to the lighting of the room! I'm not that picky, lol, I just don't want drugs offered to me every time I have a contraction! What are ya'll putting together for your birth plan? I know my doc asked me about vacuum or forcep assistance as opposed to a c-section (if necessary). I never really thought about any of that.

I am getting mine from etsy. It will cost me around $10 for the customized template. I'm going to take the template to office depot and have them print them for me on cardstock.
