I have been on the Depo Provera shot for more than 5 years now. I read that the recommended amount of time that a young woman should be on Depo is only 2 years. I am 20 now and I have been on it since I was 15. I have tried to come off of it once. I bled for about 3 weeks and then got back on it. Currently I have all kinds of pain. Back, kness, neck, arms, and I have migraines. I read about a calcium deficiency when doing research about Depo Provera.

After a year of use, many women stop having periods.
These results were taken when I was on depo provera. I have recently decided to stop birth control to see if my body will start producing regular hormones but the depo provera was still in my body when these tests were taken.

They are now controlled with medication. I have been experiencing severe joint pain a week before my period and as soon as menstruation starts it is gone. Completely. Then when ovulation occurs I feel like I have morning sickness for 3 days. Vomiting and nauseaus all day.I have 3 different bra sizes due to the fact that I may be lactating or not. I can be a B, C or D cup depending on what is going crazy in my system. This is only a few of the many symptoms I have.

In December 2013, our family doctor suggested she have the Depo Provera for birth control and to regulate her heavy menses. Quick question... which Depo are you on? There are two kinds, that I'm aware of: Depo Provera or Depo Lupron.
I had tried the Provera when I was about 16 for about a year. I had to stop because I could not handle the side effects any longer. I did spot for about 3 months. It usually takes a few months for your system to get used to it.
The Lupron stops your period completely and basically puts your body into menopause, which is the one I am currently on.

About a year after we met, we began to have sex less often (once a week as opposed to 2-3 times). Within the last 6 months or so, sex has become almost unbearable for me due to vaginal pain. Due to this, we have sex maybe once a month now.
I am 27. I was on Depo-Provera for 5 years, and have been off it for 3 years with normal (for me) menstrual cycles. During the past 6 months I have been trying to conceive, with no success. My period usually lasts about 4 days with a light to moderate flow. However, recently (during the past few months) I have been experiencing severe cramping during my period and lower back pain, as well as constant abdominal pain (not severe).
I tried doubling up on the nasal spray since I was prescribed the wrong strength, but it did not help. I had my second Depo Provera shot on December 7. I thought it would help make the bleeding stop, but I am still bleeding. I have also tried a estrogen pill I was prescribed, but it has not helped.
I know I will have light bleeding on the Depo Provera, but is it normal to be bleeding for 37 days? I have not felt like myself lately and I am having trouble doing my everyday activities.
