Depo provera and back pain

Common Questions and Answers about Depo provera and back pain

depo-provera

I bled for about 3 weeks and then got back on it. Currently I have all kinds of pain. Back, kness, neck, arms, and I have migraines. I read about a calcium deficiency when doing research about Depo Provera. I do not want to go to my doctor about this unless I am more than positive that I am correct in saying that my symptoms may be caused by Depo.
hi i got the depo injection last august but never got another one again becuse of the bleeding and pain i experienced. i still have not gotten my period back. im not pregnant but we are trying im really worried about it and have heard that i could have got POS (poly Ova Syndrome) but thats just word of mouth that you can get this from the needle.
I tried Depo provera once and the second tome i was suppose to get the shot I decided not to. If you dont get the shot again after the fist time using it can you get pregnant right away if you having unprotected sex?
i have tried everything, from lupron, to laparoscopies, to yaz, to smoking marijuana - currently i am on Depo Provera and have been for the past year and a half. I am noticing a lot of side affects from this as time goes on, and unfortunately for me this has been the only thing that even remotely helps, and i still have a lot of pain.
Im 17 and I have a six month old baby girl I didn't know I was pregnant till I was 5 months pregnant I even had x-rays done but they didnt see anything and I've had a depo shot twice but i've never had any side effects or felt like I am feeling now I had unprotected sex with my baby daddy and all of a sudden I started feeling very nauseus and i've been having a lot of pain in my lower back and in my stomache and I often get these throbbing pains in my pelvis area but i've taken one urine test a
i was on the minipill for two years i am not getting my period now doctor wants to put me on depo provera she claims after awhile the affectiveness of the minpill wears off and depo would be best for me being that it is also a progesteron only contraceptive and will continue not getting my period am afraid because of all the bad things i hear about it any suggetions?
In fact, one time my mom and her friend took me to the clinic and I ran out because I did not want the depo shot. Then and guard and cop chased me and took me back to the clinic, where they forced the depo in me. They had to hold me down to give me the shot because I put up a huge fight. I suffered alot from the shot. I am still tired and nauseous, I can't lose weight and I have painfull periods. This stuff is poisonous and should be taken off the market for good.
I was on Depo Provera for about 8 years when my husband and I decided to try for another baby. I received my last injection in September 2006. I was pregnant by March 07 but miscarried at 5 weeks. We waited until December to try again and just miscarried that one at 9 weeks. After having 2 healthy children with no pregnancy complications, I am led to believe that this is an effect of the Depo injections.
He told me that he was going to try the Depo Provera shot, because that would be a more effective pain reducer and would help the endo from not coming back. I took the shot in the middle of December 2013, and started bleeding the beginning of January. I was not due to take the next shot until March, but I was still bleeding in February consistently. I called the doctor again and said that I was still bleeding, and they told me that I could either come and take the 2nd shot early or wait it out.
I have missed my last shot and i have been having bleeding and spotting and pain for five straight weeks. I am so tired of it and I am tired; I feel crummy. Could I be pregnant? I have an appointment with planned parenthood next tuesday but waiting is so stressful. If im pregnant I need to know now!!!
I was given a shot of depo-provera yesterday...and when I asked about side affects all I was told was nausea, headache, and dizziness. After reading quite a few articles online, it seems there are a lot more serious side affects than I was led to believe. I've been having lots of chest pain and shortness of breath, but the doctor doesn't seem to think it's related to the shot.
I am in a group where all the women are trying to conceive after the depo provera. Many have been trying to conceive for years, and no luck. And it seems like those who do conceive have miscarriages soon after. Its like 80% of the women who get pg have a miscarriage. Is this linked to the depo? Age? Im 22 and am trying to conceive #2. (my son is 6 now) I am so scared that it might happen to me.
but yeah alot of people have told me that it could very well be the depo i have had mutiple tests done and even blood work all came back negative. and i have a period every month so im confused as to is it my period coming and im bloated and therefore have a gut like or if its the all the new hormones inside of me doing weird things or what. i mean the doctors everyone says i would get my period if i was pregnant.
Initial blood tests showed my cortisol levels 4 times normal. Been on Depo Provera for about 12 yrs. Stopped last summer and haven't gotten my period back. Over the last 4 years I becan to develop symptoms of Cushing's including weight gain (I've never in my life been overweight - then all of the sudden I was), apple-shaped body, thin arms & legs, moon face, flushing + diarrhea, and the Hallmark sign - the bufallo hump (fatty lump on the base of the back of the neck).
I was one it for almost 2 years and loved it and then all of the horrible side effects started... and when I say horrible, imagine the most extreme moodiness you've ever witnessed and then multiple it by 100... pain, trips to the ER to make it bearable... vaginal dryness so bad that my skin split open every time I peed... I mean, it was really awful. Like I said, it was great for 2 years, and then one morning I woke up and kablam!
Stopped it for 2 years I was completely normal after stopping it. I had my daughter and now back on depo. I almost never bleed the only time I bleed is when its a week before I'm supposed to get the shot. Also they say you can get the shot 1 week before your supposed to so you avoid bleeding which works for me as soon as I get it I stop... Guess everyones different... I wonder why it worked this time and not the last...
I also have been experiencing nausea , dizziness , fatigue , headaches and chronic back pain . I wonder could I be pregnant ?? And if I am will the Depo-Provera badly affect the baby ?? I'm also a smoker with a bad caffeine addiction and I occasionally smoke weed , could all this have affected the baby ?? And if I turn out to be pregnant is there any way of knowing if the baby is deformed or anything ??
I have a 7mm protrusion coming from my pituitary that in all clinical reality should be called a tumor. There is also a void in my pituitary that was left from "old tumor that out grew it's blood supply". I have been dealing with the railroad spike in the head headaches for years. They are now controlled with medication. I have been experiencing severe joint pain a week before my period and as soon as menstruation starts it is gone. Completely.
You girls have to discontinue Depo Provera at once and I highly recommend never putting any hormones into your bodies ever again. I have experienced a living nightmare from Depo Prover for the past three years. After I got the Depo shot I went home and researched on the web about the drug. I cried for three hours in fear that that could happen to me. What happened was worse. Five days after the shot a menstrual cycle started that would not cease. It wasn't a normal cycle.
Well, had the first Depo-Provera shot today. Hopefully my body adjusts alright and this helps with keeping the endo at bay. Has anyone used the Depo for endometriosis? What kind of experiences did you have? I'm kinda curious, but also thinking that maybe I jumped into the waters before seeing if there were sharks. :) (To reiterate, I was given three choices: oral BC, Depo, or Lupron. Opted against the Lupron for the vast scary side effects.
Im 28 and have never been pregnant slightly overweight but not too concerred and getting it back down periods were always regular and pain free went on for birth control, my husband has 1 child already and decided to start are own family.
I had one shot of depo and never had it again back in aug 2010, I have been trying to conceive since then which has been no success.. well 3 weeks ago I went into the emergency room with severe pain in my right side, turns out i had a cyst the size of a softball on my right ovary that ruptured as soon as they flipped my ovary over in surgery.
you can always call your pharmacist and ask to make sure. My husband and I are TTC and I took the Depo shot twice and stopped 11/04 and then started BCP till 8/05 and havent had a period since except with provera. I think the Depo is still in my system and is screwing everything up. I hope the provera works for you and best of luck with the clomid.
The time varies in every woman and can be from 2-3 months to 12-18 months .The length of time you use Depo-Provera usually has no effect on how long it takes you to become pregnant. If you are not on any contraceptive you can get pregnant any time. Few common causes of abdominal pain with spotting are early pregnancy, uterine fibroids and mittelschmerz. Mittelschmerz is abdominal pain which may be felt during the process of ovulation .It is often accompanied with spotting.
After reading some of the posts I feel better. I went on depo back in 97 and decided to get off of it June of 2007. Reason being, I started to notice my anxiety levels were high, one minute I was fun and the next depressed and miserable. I would get upset and mad easily...nothing I did seemed to make me feel like I use to when I was younger. I felt like I was going crazy. Within the 10 year time frame I was on Prozac for a year or two because I felt depressed, lost... crazy.
I wonder what the difference between the two depo shots are and I wonder why my gyno recommended the other depo shot if the depo-subq provera 104 shot is specific for endo ?
I will never go on Depo Provera again. My daughter was on Depo Provera at college, and discontinued the shot and has lost that weight and is thin again. Fitday.com's free site has helped me keep up with my carb intake, and also tells me how many calories, how much fat etc. I use. It does this automatically when I put my food in for the day. Also Magic Bus has a forum where you can learn how to lose weight quick and even post on a challenge to keep you honest and responsible.
