John's concussion occured over a year ago. Is it too late for treatment? What are the treatment options? He has also been on quite a few medications to deal with this sleep problems. Could any medications that are either used to help with sleep or used to promote day time wakefulness cause hperosmia?

I'm in highschool and during soccer i got a concussion, the doctors said my brain was fine in a cat scan but ever since I have had chronic migraines and headaches for a year now. I saw a neurologist and am on amitriptyline and zolmitriptan. It has reduced my headaches from everyday to four times a week and my migraines from twice a week to once a month. i found that also pushing myself through physical exercise helps too. I still cannot attend school though and am homeschooled as a result.

Please consult a neurologist. The treatment is to remove the compression. You have to discuss the best treatment option with a neurologist, which can range from medication to physiotherapy to traction, cervical collars or even surgery. Alternatively you can visit a chiropractor or a physical therapist and learn some exercises which you can do to relieve the compression. Hope this helps. So he started IV fluids, sedation and pain medication, antibiotics, and steroids for the concussion. I believe he said that he did put a nasal catheter in for oxygen treatment as well. He said that his condition was guarded. I know that there is no way that anyone can give me assurance that is concrete but any would surely be wonderful. I will not hear anything until tomorrow by 10 a.m. . Does anyone have any experience in this area? Any encouragement is very much appreciated.

It is abundantly clear that in some cases concussions may result in seizures. That is not a "theory". It is a medical fact. It doesn't require "discussion". But not all concussions result in a seizure. There can be varying degrees of damage depending on the severity off the blow, where the impact takes place, and from resultant swelling, and if there is a delay in seeking medical attention. A "concussion" is not a "concussion".

Your symptoms could be due to migraine or PCS ( post concussion syndrome ) because of the concussion that you had years ago.Please go for an MRI brain to know the exact cause and consult a neurologist for treatment as a delay could be dangerous. I was in a bad car accident a month ago . i Went to a neurologist and he dignosed me with Post concussion syndrom. i hit my head pretty good, 1 the whip lash (i cant remember if i hit it on anything in my car) but as i was exiting to see what he did i smacked it on the metal bar getting out and then when the paramedic arrived i was laying in my car as they got me out the car he was holding my neck up right and i smacked it again on the metal bar getting out the car again.

I have struggled with anxiety for awhile with no medication, and right now I have had post-concussion symptoms for 2 weeks. Something has happened that triggered my anxiety tonight and I haven't been able to sleep, I have a numb sensation through my body, I'm lightheaded, I'm shaking/trembling badly, and I'm sick to my stomach.
