If you have signs of a serious injury, a CT scan is usually the best first test to diagnose it. As to the concussion being permanent, in most cases, a single concussion should not cause permanent damage.

I hit my head and ended up with a skull fracture, and bruising and bleeding on the brain. Before I passed out my chest felt like it was on fire and then I got light headed and the next thing I knew I was sitting up from the floor. I'm in highschool and during soccer i got a concussion, the doctors said my brain was fine in a cat scan but ever since I have had chronic migraines and headaches for a year now.
