208686 tn?1293030503 We didn't have a lack of rain here last summer, we had flooding in the streets, it was pretty bad. I say global warming is a load of ****, it was -9 last night for goodness sake.
163305 tn?1333668571 Even though temps don't reflect global warming and the ice caps don't reflect global warming? Of right it's "climate change" because global warming was a myth.
Avatar f tn Once again, I think it would be a mistake to completely dismiss the idea of global warming. I still believe it is part of the earth's natural cycle, but I also believe we have added to the problem. I think most scientists feel that way...at least based on what I have read.
163305 tn?1333668571 Global warming or no global warming, the conscious decision to change has to be a GLOBAL one, and not just one that's made by the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, etc. Until you get India & China on board (the fastest emerging industrialized nations on the planet with the highest continued contribution of CO2 emissions (with no sign of giving a $hit about the environment)... it's going to get worse.

535822 tn?1443976780 Hansen is the intellectual godfather of the global-warming movement who advised Al Gore on his Oscar-winning climate-scare flick, “An Inconvenient Truth.” Mr. Hansen has just acknowledged more than the lack of warming. His words confirm nature, not mankind, played the decisive role in directing global temperatures over the past 10 years. Read more at The Washington Times.
535822 tn?1443976780 Well from what I have read recently it sounds like this theory of Global Warming and it being the biggest scam of our lifetime if in history was perpetrated is taking hold, the main scientist has now resigned.so my gut tells me that this is on a roll, masses of money has been and will be spent on this theory ...now its being debunked, I guess time will tell and the truth will Out ..
1301089 tn?1290666571 s=0 James Cameron Ducks Climate Change Debate “Avatar” and “Titanic” director James Cameron challenged three noted global warming skeptics to a debate at an energy conference — then backed out of the debate at the last minute. In March, climate change crusader Cameron said he was eager to debate the issue and show skeptics they are wrong. “I want to call those deniers out into the street at high noon and shoot it out with those boneheads,” he said in an interview.
Avatar f tn ve got a bad feeling about the global warming - someone stands to make a lot of money from that cockamamy idea......... poisoning the water is another issue......probably because I'm licensed in drinking water quality, so that's what I make my living at........ What people don't seem to understand is that everything you dump on the ground, eventually ends up in an aquifer someplace and someone is going to end up drinking it........how simple can it get???
Avatar f tn ...I'm sorry. I must have missed the "global warming" reference in the article. Enlighten me please? I think we're all aware that these are both old phenomena. Honestly not sure who you were taking a stab at there...but was it really necessary to shove a political agenda up this particular post's behind? That took me a bit by surprise.
611067 tn?1458591483 The fundamentalist doom mongers also ignore scientists who say the effects of global warming may be benign. Harvard astrophysicist Sallie Baliunas said added CO2 in the atmosphere may actually benefit the world because more CO2 helps plants grow. Warmer winters would give farmers a longer harvest season, and might end the droughts in the Sahara Desert. Why don't we hear about this part of the global warming argument? "It's the money!" said Dr. Baliunas.
1301089 tn?1290666571 That's a wonderful way to put it Sara...it is a living, breathing entity. I don't believe in any of the conspiracy concepts but I do think that lack of global warming doesn't give us a free pass to abuse the earth (not saying you think it does, lol). But just because global warming isn't the threat they said it was doesn't mean we can relax our vigilance! (again not saying you disagree, just stating in general). There does seem to be proof for global cooling...

Most farmers can't really see the the big global patterns of climate change, and certainly can't change what's happening. But big multinational companies can see it, because they buy shiploads of farm products from all over the world. Take, for example, Mars, Inc., maker of Mars bars, M&M's, Snickers, Skittles and more.
Avatar f tn To combat global warming, scientists in Scotland now suggest an out-of-this-world solution — a giant dust cloud in space, blasted off an asteroid, which would act like a sunshade for Earth. The world is warming and the climate is changing.
Avatar f tn It describes these kinds of things and it scares the beejeebies out of me. Some call it global warming and climate change but Revelations describes these disasters to a T. I dont know how many of you all believe in it, but is a good read for sure.
163305 tn?1333668571 In the 30 years since Gallup started asking people whether they believe humans evolved, evolved under the guidance of God, or were created fully formed by God, the percentage of people adhering to the creationist view has actually gone up slightly over time, and now stands at 46 percent of the population. This is just the tip of the iceberg of a growing problem of public rejection of science.
Avatar n tn For more than a year, he has showed the capacity to grapple with sophisticated issues. He understands basic concepts of global warming, poverty, war etc. He listens to a ton of NPR (because we like listening to it) and i have noticed that he really listens and asks questions about what he hears. My wife talked to him about the situation in Iraq because he asked.
148588 tn?1465778809 t think anyone denies that global warming is a natural trend however there is plenty of evidence that we have tremendously accelerated global warming and there seems little motivation to try and slow it by the peoples in power. Just where do they expect their children and grandchildren to live?
148588 tn?1465778809 This is probably because the amounts of carbon dioxide released in contemporary volcanism have not been of sufficient magnitude to produce detectable global warming. For example, all studies to date of global volcanic carbon dioxide emissions indicate that present-day subaerial and submarine volcanoes release less than a percent of the carbon dioxide released currently by human activities.
163305 tn?1333668571 CANBERRA (Reuters) - The summer ice melt in parts of Antarctica is at its highest level in 1,000 years, Australian and British researchers reported on Monday, adding new evidence of the impact of global warming on sensitive Antarctic glaciers and ice shelves. Researchers from the Australian National University and the British Antarctic Survey found data taken from an ice core also shows the summer ice melt has been 10 times more intense over the past 50 years compared with 600 years ago.
