concussion

Avatar f tn My daughter will be 8 in May. about two years ago, she suffered a concussion when she fell on a playground, which knocked her unconcscious. She hit the back of her head on concrete. We went through the scans, and the doctors cleared her, but I started noticing sudden drastic behavior changes.
Avatar f tn If shes growing a bump, put a little bit of butter n sprinkle salt on top of the area. Sounds weird but as a mom of a toddler also, its worked for me n my family for years n years. But i was thinking also, maybe your kid needs mommy daughter time....are you preg? She might be reacting to that. But if a concussion is what you're worried about, don't let her sleep until an hour is up.
Avatar f tn I am a concussion survivor. Could you get a concussion if your head stops suddenly from a fast movement? Yesterday I was in a hurry and running and pushed the door in front of me. It stopped abruptly which caused my body to stop too. Could this cause a concussion? I'm scared because I am recovering from a concussion already. Does it make me more prone to brain injury? Please, help me!
Avatar f tn does a hit in the head followed by nausea, vertigo headache and diarrhea after 24 hours need to be examined and how serious it can be?
Avatar n tn Circling can indicate a stroke, and since there was a head injury, it could mean there is bleeding somewhere in the brain or a bloodclot as a result of the injury that caused the concussion. Chances are, in a very young dog like this, as long as the problem is caught and managed there will be no serious permanent damage, but the circling at this stage of the game is definitely cause for concern. Please let us know what the vet says.
Avatar f tn My eyes went pinpoint. I was in the hospital for 2 days with a concussion.
Avatar f tn It is abundantly clear that in some cases concussions may result in seizures. That is not a "theory". It is a medical fact. It doesn't require "discussion". But not all concussions result in a seizure. There can be varying degrees of damage depending on the severity off the blow, where the impact takes place, and from resultant swelling, and if there is a delay in seeking medical attention. A "concussion" is not a "concussion".
Avatar f tn I am 54 years old, Sand I suffered a concussion a about 2 weeks ago. I tripped over a high curb, with a 2 year old in my arms.I automatically pushed her to the side and I took the bang to the head. Of course my concern was the little girl. I checked her over. And she seemed fine. Except she cried for awhile. The whole thing is a blur it happens so fast. Later in the day I was sitting on the couch. And my 10 yr old grandson said look at me Meemaw and look to your right.
Avatar n tn I have a teenager who got a concussion while snowboarding, He lost significant memory at the time. The Catscan was normal. This morning I also noticed his hands shaking slightly. The doctor told me he would have symptoms for a week or two, are the shakey hands a sign of something more severe, we have a follow up appointment on Monday.
Avatar n tn It sounds like it could be a concussion - he will slowly heal if he does not see a doctor. I got hit in the head with a softball a few years ago and was very dizzy, nauseous, and had a headache. I did not go to the doctor.... found out 2 months later (after the feeling was starting to come back and I got black eyes) that I did indeed have a mild concussion and had to go for a CT Scan for possible nerve damage. I still do not have a lot of feeling in the spot that I got hit.
Avatar f tn This article you can copy and paste has a lot of info related to concussions. We looked for the signs after my son took a big head splitter in a soccer game and was put under concussion watch. https://my.clevelandclinic.
16465326 tn?1448202692 The attending Physician said I checked out neurologically and did not order a CT scan of my brain. A concussion was her diagnosis. Since the fall I have had the following symptoms: 1. Whiplash as my sternocleidomastoid muscles in the front of my neck have seized up and are extremely sore. Especially bad in the morning upon waking until I get going through my day. 2. Extremely irritable as the smallest of things seem to enrage me. Not emblematic of my normal behavior..3.
Avatar n tn I understand they say we are born with it but I had a lifetime of head injuries (guessing it is the clutz in me) but anyway, my last concussion made my problems get so much worse!! Without a doubt it was my last concussion that caused my Chiari to NEED help! Then it was just five years of trying to figure out my problem. My headaches were terrible but worse than the migraines were the chiari cough headaches! Getting a dr.
Avatar f tn I got a concussion about 3 months ago at a cheer competition when a girl fell and elbowed me in the face. I didn’t get knocked unconscious but I blacked out for 3 or 4 seconds. Immediately after my performance I went to the athletic trainer who performed an assessment and asked what my symptoms were. Immediately I had a headache, I saw halos around lights, and I felt like I was in a dream state.
1810335 tn?1318384373 I got hit in the head today with a soccer ball really hard, Ive been dizzy and have had a head ache all day, I couldn't see nor did i know where I was for a few seconds.. Couple of my friends said i could have had a concussion, If so, what should I do? I'm 17 and this is the first time this has happened to me :( If not what could have happened??
Avatar f tn Sounds like you might have a concussion. A concussion is a mild brain injury caused by a knock or blow to the head or a sudden change in motion. See a doctor just in case.
Avatar f tn Hello, Im almost 100% certain that it wouldnt be a concussion. Even though the back of the head is the worst spot you can get hit or fall on, you would still be having tremedous pain along with other symptoms like dizzyness, blurryness, tiredness. Im sure you just had a bit of a headache for awhile.
Avatar m tn What if you had a concussion? What if eating doesn't help?Is it different if you can't barley speak and move?
Avatar f tn I was a little further along than you. A little boy was flying down a slide with his feet out and i was standing next to it. I called my OB right away to see if he wanted to see me. He said that the baby is so protected in there that he wasn't worried. And I have an extremely cautious OB (ultrasounds at every visit, he's sent me to several different specialists because of various concerns, etc...).
Avatar f tn Will this go away soon by itself or do I have to worry about a random bleed or episode that could be life threatening? Ive never had a concussion before. Also is the pressure i feel in my head normal? Its affecting my nose, forehead and ears...
Avatar m tn m in highschool and during soccer i got a concussion, the doctors said my brain was fine in a cat scan but ever since I have had chronic migraines and headaches for a year now. I saw a neurologist and am on amitriptyline and zolmitriptan. It has reduced my headaches from everyday to four times a week and my migraines from twice a week to once a month. i found that also pushing myself through physical exercise helps too. I still cannot attend school though and am homeschooled as a result.
Avatar n tn t make a habit of it. In a concussion, there is always brain swelling. There a window of opportunity to reduce the swelling. Action is ideally taken within the first four hours. After 24 hours, there isn't much to do after several days. All the damage than can be done has been done. The swelling has the potential to compress blood vessels, causing ischemia and death of brain cells. The bad-news bears. In the future, if you ever bang your head hard, head for an emergency room.
Avatar f tn I fell a couple of weeks ago and fell coming down the stairs in my socks on hard wood surface, I fell and hit the back of my head my Doctor thinks I have a mild concussion but I'm thinking maybe I should call my surgeon. It's a year after my surgery but the back of my head is killing me after I've fallen down some stairs and banged it pretty hard.
Avatar m tn And since my concussion my right leg has been jerking once a lot a day. I have also had a lot of memory problems since my concussion. I used to have really good memory, but now I will forget something someone just told me. I wasn't sure if someone knew why this all is happening.
