t gone one day without getting a headache. He is itching to run around and play. Can he run, jump, ride a bike even if he is still getting headaches or should he do no physical activity even after 3 months? We're trying physio. now to see of it helps.

I took him to a neurolgist and was told that he would not be able to return to contact sports for 2 months. The doctor performed an examination and I was told my son was fine from the concussion. My son did not have a CATscan or MRI. Is 2 months considered excessive? My son did have a mild concussion this past fall as well.

Its probably just some normal swelling from the bump and nothing to worry over.

There is a reason why in sports today that people need to pass concussion protocol tests before they are allowed to return to activity. Once swelling and contusion following the fall will subside some taste and smell may return. However, when this will happen is difficult to say. Your father should be shown to a neurologist once. Take care!

I am considering doing it as punishment for my sins, but on the other hand I dont want to not be able to move my fingers at all cuz I play the piano, and well, i cant play it with only one hand!

About three years ago I had a concussion in a soccer game. I was knocked unconscious, but got up and managed to play the second half of the game. (big mistake) After the game I felt very sick and when my mom came to pick me up she took me to the hospital right away. The doctors said i had a concussion and gave my mom **** for letting me play the second half. I had a couple more concussions and ended up taking a full year off of all physical activity, as directed by a neurologist.

After a month and a half of these adjustments 3 times a week, we gave up on it and I stuck to medication and physical therapy. I would like to be able to return to school soon being that this time in my life is critical to my future and I'm wondering if my condition is reversable. If the atlas is what was knocked out of place during my concussion, is there a way to make it permanently stay in place?

About four nights ago whilewe were sound asleep my cat decided it would be thE perfect time to Ty for the first time to jump onto out headboard from the nightstand. Out headboard is about three and a half to four feet higher than our heads while we sleep. We have this rectangular block that has candles in it ( made of wood) on our headboard which she knocked off and it fell right on our heads. It weighs about 4 lbs.

My question would be for a 17 year old boy what would most doctors recommend and if we did choose the bioprosthetic valve would he be able to return to sports, especially football? Also where can I find out more detailed information about both procedures so we can educate ourselves before we meet with the surgeon.

I went to the eye doctor last year and they told me I had lattice degeneration and the doctor told me that if I get a concussion I could lose my sight but I don't believe that. I went to the doctor again in January and they told me it hasn't gotten worse. The doctors said I couldn't play basketball. I haven't ever gotten a concussion while playing basketball. Sadly, I'm the one giving concussions.

I went snowboarding yesterday and hit my head twice, hard and now have been having headaches, dizziness and sleepiness. I do not think I have a concussion because my pupils still dilate. I'm not sure whats going on but I need to know if it is serious or not since I play hockey and I don't want to say anything until I have had a second opinion.

ve quit playing I deeply regret ever playing, because now all I want to do is be able to grow old and enjoy my family. Hopefully God will bless me, I feel as if he already has in the sense that I decided not to play college football. I hope you make the right choice.

This is normally a Neurological Issue due to injury to the brain & nervous system from head trauma....In your case (One week later) sounds as if the swelling has not been brought under control...The Vet that diagnosed the "Concussion" should have given an Anti-inflammatory (Usually steroids) to help with the inflammation. You need to return to your Vet today & have your puppy checked again.....

I have a serious concussion and I have strained my trapiuses muscle... I also have osgood schlatters in one leg and I can't run with out getting dizzy due to the concussion... I really need to work out ... I have been out for a month ... Please and thank you !

I play softball in college and about 3 weeks ago i was hit in the head with a bat right above my left ear. My coach gave me a concussion test and my head was hurting pretty bad throughout the day. The next day it wasnt bothering me too bad so I didnt go to the doctor to see if i did have a concussion. Well ever since that weekend, i have pressure headaches on the right side of my head.

A month ago I was in a bad car accident. My car flipped and I hit my head going unconscious. So obviously I had a concussion. I'm healing and have been trying to decide which exercise would be the best? I've belonged to a gym since Oct. but am just concerned to start exercising again. My dr says I need to treat myself as if I have a concussion for at least a year, or while symptoms last. I get headaches, dizziness, sometimes very mild forgetfulness.

found out 2 months later (after the feeling was starting to come back and I got black eyes) that I did indeed have a mild concussion and had to go for a CT Scan for possible nerve damage. I still do not have a lot of feeling in the spot that I got hit. He needs to go to a hospital and get checked out. They now say that the person can sleep after a concussion.

when i came back to pick him up he was acting weird wants to sleep, doesnt want to play and he wont eat or drink anything. he has had a concussion before and he is acting alot like he did when it happened the first time, except he hasnt been throwing up. and i wasnt there yesterday to know what happened. i am worried because it is his second concussion and he is only 10 months old, he is a miniature Shih Tzu.

They all made me out to be crazy which then made me questioning myself. I should su the first neuro i went to bcs he sent me back to play with an undiagnosed concussion. If i got hit in the head again I could have died. Ugh pisses me off so bad. Very few people understand what us sufferrers r going through. when he approched his mother he said he wanted to play. He wanted to play Now!! after he got cleaned up he was asked what he was stessing about he said shcool was coming up. I know this is some kind of anxiety attack will it get better or worse??

I was involve in a very bad car accident 02/10 and have no memory of the actual wreck. the hospital deemed I have a severe concussion and then also diagnosed me with Post Concussion Syndrome. I am currently also experiencing back and neck problems as well as getting a collarbone checked out for a possible fracture. My question is does coffee effect concussion and PCS recovery. And how long does recovery generally take.

ve had to stop playing, which makes coaching a fun but depressing time. I love to coach but I want to jump in and play and be more active :( I've cried myself to sleep numerous times. I sustained a minor concussion three weeks ago, and though my logical and linguistic faculties seemed to return to normal within a couple days, I have had persistent feelings of pressure and weakness in my head, though these have markedly diminished within the past week. At present, I have recovered enough that I am able to use the computer (with the monitor at low brightness) for simple tasks like reading and writing emails.

I am not sure anyone will be able to answer accurately since a concussion is a jarring to the brain and what happens physically in/on the brain no one knows.

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum, It is possible to post op experience some symptoms during a cold or flu....hopefully they will go away with the illness...we tend to fill with fluids...and it may still be tighter in that area even with decompression surgery....and over the yrs scar tissue could have formed to make it a little smaller again.... You said this is in the past few days.....I too am post op...

When does a butt return to normal after it’s been penetrated with a finger, and am I considered not straight for trying it? Thanks.
