Avatar f tn s sexual identity as a heterosexual. In part, the fears are that of impulse and loss of control, where one feels overwhelming anxiety around the intrusive thoughts of being sexual and passionate with another member of the same sex. This is not at all the same as closeted gays who may be afraid of social repercussions. It is not a fear of rejection by members of the same sex, but rather is a fear of the attraction itself.
Avatar f tn Hello, kids with ADHD and learning disabilities are at much higher risk for mood and behavior problems, and it is not wonder when you try to imagine how hard it is for them to meet behavioral expectations at home and school. For kids with ADHD, its especially hard because an essential feature of the disability is poor impulse control. They aren't malicious kids, but they have a very hard time exerting self control. That said, you can teach him to handle his feelings in better ways.
Avatar n tn and actually if the school is dealing with it and she doesnt do it at home maybe it isnt a big problem, perhaps she doesnt know and simply reacts on impulse,.The kissing could have been a couple of little girls being affectionate why was that a problem?I dont see any difficult behavior issues here ,only normal childhood behavior.
Avatar f tn This is an impulse control disorder. They know they are doing harm to themselves but can not stop the impulse. Depression and anxiety go hand in hand with this as well. It is tricky to treat. A psychiatrist usually is involved or a psychologist. They do what is called habit reversal therapy. So important to get a handle on it. My niece is now in her mid 20's. She has a 4,000 dollar hair piece she wears.
Avatar f tn How long after a concussion is it normal to still be feeling nauseous and have difficulty with memory, balance etc. I got hit in the face with a softball 11 days ago and am still nauseous. Cannot stand on one leg with eyes closed, and have forgotten things like PIN numbers, passwords etc. is it too soon to expect these symptoms to be gone, or should I go back to the drs. I did also break my nose, which was realigned under local anaesthetic 6 days ago. No LOC. No actual vomiting.
Avatar f tn The mechanism of action is not completely understood, but what is when a voltage (unit of potential for conduction) and electrolyte there will conduction and passage of electrical impluses. When the polar opposites cathode (negative electrons) and anode (positive electrons) reach a specific level there will be repolarization by transfering electrons from anode to the cathode.

Avatar m tn To give you some insight concentric LV hypertrophy. With sustained hypertension the heart develops concentric hypertrophy that is characterized by thickening of the intraventricular septum (wall that separates left and right chambers) and the contracting wall of the left ventricle. Your therapy is timely as the hypertrophic process is initially adaptive, in that it enables the heart to maintain normal pump performance (systole) in the face of the increased afterload (high blood pressure).
Avatar m tn anxiety which runs in her family. Over time it became clear that impulse control and knowing how to set boundaries were other issues she faces. The impulsive behavior would literally leave her thoughtless, where she follows the impulse shoving consequences aside. Her overall decision making skills can make her seem flimsy, saying one thing then later completely contradicting what she said .. in her own words, " I mean it in the moment I say it".

This is normally a Neurological Issue due to injury to the brain & nervous system from head trauma....In your case (One week later) sounds as if the swelling has not been brought under control...The Vet that diagnosed the "Concussion" should have given an Anti-inflammatory (Usually steroids) to help with the inflammation. Avatar f tn Sometimes either the right or the left bundle branch (pathway for electrical impulse) conducts the electrical impulse more slowly than normal, but is not completely blocked. When this occurs, the impulse may be slowed and the electrical impulse arrives in the ventricle slightly later than normal. This can cause an irregular heartbeat... dropped beat or two fast beats are not uncommon and not considered a medical problem. Medication, diet and exercise can have any influence of the EKG output.
