Avatar n tn I have no history of colon cancer in my family, though I had a benign polyp removed about 4 yrs ago. I am diagnosed with IBS. I have no weight loss (other way around) but have been very stressed past couple of years. My toilet habits have not changed, I have had no fever. My stool looks normal shape and color (other than mucus and blood). I ma due for an endoscopy and colonscopy soon. But I want to know; is this most likely cancer?

Avatar m tn I want to believe that I can rule out colon cancer as a diagnosis based on the fact that 4 yrs ago there were no issues with my colonoscopy. I am scheduled to see my GP for another follow up on this issue. In the meantime, can anyone shed some light on how reliable a colonoscopy is in detecting colon cancer? I thought this was the gold standard and the American Cancer Society recommends screening every 10 yrs. I have it done every 5 yrs.
Avatar m tn t have two separate conditions causing this- Diverticulitis and Diverticulosis do both explain the fever and chills, and the blood. Colon spasms are absolutely miserable, but you might benefit from treatment using Belladonna extract- talk to your doctor about it. I went through a yearlong period of colon spasms when I was under heavy stress in college, and Belladonna was good for mitigating the symptoms.
Avatar n tn has she been checked for cancer?
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I'm stumped. I have had localized pain/pinching in my lower left abdomen since early February 2011. It's constantly there but hurts more when sitting, and sudden movements hurt it too. The pain is accentuated when I am bloated or when gas moves by, so it seems to be related to colon pressure. Sometimes my left kidney/ribs are tender to the touch. I have a family history of endometriosis, diverticulitis, and colon cancer, but I'm only 31.
Avatar m tn Colon cancer is EXTREMELY rare in young people. It is normally due to an hereditary colon disease which is in our family. Even with the hereditary disease early detection can save your life! Take your health very seriously, if you don't and something is wrong, you will be forced to deal with it eventually, and probably not with good results.
Avatar f tn does coughing and wheezing more {as asmatic anyway} have any bearings on colon cancer
1545021 tn?1322477485 t have any family history of this, only my Grandpa got colon cancer at 75 years old. A few people have had their gallbladders removed and my mom and Grandmother have had diverticulitis. A few of my great uncles have diabetes. Nobody has pancreatic cancer.
Avatar f tn Colon cancer can be extremely hereditary! My mother-in-law has 4th stage colon cancer and it was recommended to my husband and his sister to have a colonoscopy at 40 years old. He did and they found 1 small (3mm) sized tumor that was found to be pre-cancerous. His sister's result was clear. So, that's 50% chance right there. I agree with quinroxanne, be very vigilant! Good luck.
Avatar n tn Does an inflamed colon mean you have colitis? i had the stomach flu 2 weeks ago.. havnt felt normal since.. weird dull aches in my stomach and sometimes sharp pains.. ct scan said i had an inflamed colon? wtf could this be.. it is primarily on rite side.. radiating to lower rite back and currently as of this moment under neath the rite shoulder blade a couple ribs down..
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with colon cancer 8 years ago and they removed 19 inches of my colon at that time. Now, I had a PET scan done a few weeks ago and a spot (size of a lima) bean was found. I was sent to an orthopaedic doctor and he has discussed the scans with 4 radiologist and they will not commit 100% it is not cancer. So, now they ahve requested a CT/biopsy after a consultation with an Interventional radiologist next week. Do you feel this could be cancer?
Avatar f tn It most likely is something like IBS and not colon cancer. I would suggest getting a colonoscopy to make sure it isn't something bad, but if you really don't want to get one, then just make sure nothing is getting worse.
Avatar n tn I'm so scared because I suspect I may have colon cancer. My symptoms are: microscopic blood in the fecal test administered by the dr, diarrea, and back pain. I don't have bloody stools and haven't lost any weight but from what I've read, some people are practically symptomless. I have an appt.in 3 weeks for a colonoscopy. I'm so worried that I can't think straight. I know that no one can help me out there but I needed to tell someone who is not related to me.
Avatar n tn I have been having some pain where I believe my right ovary to be. I had pain there, around my back and down my legs. Also up my right side too. Gyno said she did not feel anything on my ovary, thought it might be an UTI. Seeing a urologist and so far sounds as if this is not the case. Urine coming back negative for bacteria. These pains come and go without any reason. Its not always there. But I read a story of a lady who's first sign of colon cancer was sciatic pain.
Avatar f tn I also experienced burning sensations in my stomach or tightness that comes and goes but not often. I don’t have cramps, pain or a fever and no family history of colon cancer and in 2020 went to the hospital for separate reasons and had blood test and a X-rays if that’s important or worth mentioning. Is this IBS or something else? I’m eating regularly but when it’s time to go my bowels seems incomplete.
Avatar f tn I am not sure why you associate HCV with cancer? Colon cancer typically spreads from the colon to the liver. This is not liver cancer (HCC), which develops in the liver itself after extensive liver damage has been done. By HCC or many other ways. It usually only occurs if the patient has cirrhosis of the liver. What stage is your fibrosis? "The GI docs always say that everything looks fine with my liver and GB". You must have some latest blood and imaging results, correct?.
Avatar f tn One thing i would like to ask all who are having doubt of cancer is that firstly i 've heard fever does'nt usually appear in cancer untill its in advanced stage obviously where its visible enough to impact other organs, as it would have been easily caught up in so much screenings going on.Secondly so far i dont think there's any weight loss issue which could have been again signified sign of cancer.
Avatar m tn My husband's 1st wife had colon cancer. It was discovered too late, & she passed away at the age of 24 saddly. Your symptoms don't sound like what my husband told me she had. She started having symptoms in her late teens... chronic constipation, stomach pain, etc. One day while she was away at college, she started throwing up really hard & thought she had a virus. She was staying really tired & just couldn't shake it.
Avatar m tn my husband has colon cancer and first pet scan came back 3.9 had it 2yrs before first visit to doctors how bad is 3.
