What can I take for a cold? I have loads of fisherman friends cold sweets in I have asked my midwife and got no reply. Also can you have a flu jab when you have a cold? I'm 16+6 and still haven't heard the heartbeat anyone else had this? Had midwife yesterday and she refused I have a home Doppler and still can't hear anything on there. I'm not sure if there is any drop in clinics to go to..

I've had my flu jab so think I've came down with an awful cold, my throat is killing and I can't stop coughing.. I'm coughing that bad I can hardly sleep and my ribs are killing me. The chemist said I can't take anything for it just vapour rub and crystals as I'm 33+2 weeks Any idea what I can do to reduce the coughing? Much appreciated. I've tried to steam it out by going in the bath, drinking cups of tea ect..

I used vicks, and herbal tea unfortunatly there isn't much you can take when you are expecting. You could always call you doctor and ask ive heard there are some over the counter things you can take like thara-flu but my doctor told me to avoid it if possible so i just suffered till i was better.

cold [same symptoms as before, except add ear pain/popping after coughing/blowing nose so much] -April '08: cold, only lasted a couple of days -May '08: cold, this has been with me for over a week, plus add headache, dizziness, neck pain, and a nose that will not unclog no matter how much I blow it! Also got a sore throat. The ear pain is back but it's not persistent like the one before and I haven't lost my hearing for more than a few minutes.

I'm 16 weeks 2day and I'm sick for the second time with a cold. This winter is going to suck. You'd think with all the water and vitamins I'm taking I'd be invincible to cold and flu season!

t think so because you may have side effects of the flu shot, and with a weakened immune system with a cold you may not be able to fight it off as well, I had a cold last year and tried getting the flu shot and had to reschedule :(

I just got mine this past Tuesday. There's a REALLY BAD version of the flu going around this year where I am, and I get sick easily (pregnant or not).

You may have Allergies because you told have n't fever , and for improving your immune system for flu you can inject Flu Vaccine every year .

HI all, I am new here and joined because I quit smoking on January 10, 2016. Ever since, I have felt worse than I have when I was smoking. I have read a lot about quitter's flu, but am wondering if the severity of mine is normal. I am freezing cold with the chills, and get pale and feverish, then it passes. It's like I feel fine one minute, and a few hours later I'll be flu-like again. I developed a raspy voice only after quitting, but haven't been coughing that much.

My two year old is scheduled to have her annual flu shot however she's on her 8th day of antibiotics for a cold she got last week. Can she receive the flu shot eventhough she's on medication or should I wait until she's done with her dosage.

Since having my Thyroid Removed Dec of 2006. This has been my first full cold and flu season since surg. I seem to have had every cold and flu this season. My question is does this have ant thing to do with having my Thyroid removed? Did my immune system change or weaken?

My doctor told me that having cancer will weaken ones immune system. She recommended I get a flu shot this year, which I did. It was my first flu shot.Last year I didn't get the flu or colds, even without the shot, but didn't take any chances this year. She even recommended my husband get the shot, so as not to expose me.

Have known people to have an aching pain with a flu, but you should see a physician and get antiviral med to help kick it, if that is what it is; and if it isn't, the physician can diagnose what it is. Flu shots don't cover every flu out there, and if you got the shot close to the time you got the flu - it won't help with that flu because you need to build up immunity. Even then, you may get the flu, but not as severely. It's still worth getting the shots.

Im 29 weeks and from what I know a cold won't hurt the baby.I was given the flu shot early in my 2nd trimester but, the last couple days I have had a really bad cough. I called my doctor and they suggested delsym to help with my cough. It may be best to contact your doctor. Make sure to stay away from aspirin and some other over the counter meds because they can be harmful.

Oh also, the flu shot is ineffective to this flu, the one they made this year is more toward a cold version of the flu. The flu this year is a violent illness!
