Avatar f tn So my doctor told me I need to cut out the caffeine immediately the other day at my appointment. I usually drink a couple cups of dark brew coffee and about 8 cups of green tea everyday for the past few years. I am a student and I heavily rely on the caffeine to get me into focus and past exhaustion; I have never approached a paper without a cup of coffee. Yesterday I felt like I was dying!
Avatar m tn How can enlraged prostate or scar tissue be treated?
Avatar n tn My family doc felt my prostate and said it was inflamed and diagnosed me with acute prostatitis. My urine test was negative for any bacteria. Put me on cipro for a month. During cipro the pain in the tip of my penis was gone but I always maintained that low grade lower abdominal pain. After the cipro within two days the pain got worse. So now he has me on septra.
Avatar m tn A complete physical examination by a physician including a rectal and prostate examination will help determine any irregularities or enlargement of the prostate. However, an enlarged prostate may usually present with straining during urination or dribbling and decreased flow of urine. In your case you have also mentioned of a burning pain and increased frequency. These points to a more irritative condition that may suggest an infection.

Avatar m tn It seems that there is prostatits which is causing the increase in the size of the prostate. Avoid wine, coffee or colas as they are diuretic agents and increase the frequency of urination, increasing the pressure on the bladder neck. Consult your urologist for further action.
Avatar n tn You should follow up with your doctor. It wouldn't be from chlamydia, as that's cleared up, but maybe something is going on with your prostate.
Avatar n tn query=incontinence# Alcohol is a prostate irritant and can mask impulses from the bladder. If the prostate gland has not been resected, it is possible that the difficulty in voiding is due to prostate enlargement. If you find that you have a tendency to be incontinent after alcohol consumption, ensure that you wear an adult diaper to bed on these occasions Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
Avatar m tn You might have something going on with your kidneys. Alcohol is an irritant and holding urine tires the bladder and pelvic muscles. A full bladder can push on the prostate which can send a pain signal if it's inflamed. But neither should cause terrible pain. If you get any more terrible pain, you need an accurate diagnosis.
Avatar f tn Anyways—is the blood in my urine something to be concerned about—I have minocycline at home for my acne so I started taking those and cranberry chews when I realized it was a UTI. Also, will drinking coffee help with my constipation? I want to try but don’t want to irritate my bladder I have been taking fiber capsules but they don’t seem to help.
Avatar m tn ANYONE???????????????? could this be an enlarged prostate at my age???
Avatar f tn I know I have not drank nearly enough water the last few days but had started day off with coffee. Am I dehydrated or could this be kidney stones?
Avatar n tn Urine may be an irritant especially when taking medications. It may irritate the glans and the urethral opening and lead to a burning or tingling sensation.
Avatar n tn Well, alcohol irritates the urethra and bladder, so its not all that surprising that it would burn some after drinking. Dehydration can also cause the same thing. The only physical cause would be an inflamed prostate, and if you haven't had a prostate exam, it might be a good idea, at least to rule it out. Its not an std, though. You might get more ideas in the men's health forum.
Avatar n tn This, and other statements on this forum such as forcing a bowel movement (which also stimulates the prostate) leads me to think that this is a prostate related problem. Also as mentioned earlier ejaculating before drinking helps empty the prostatic fluids (which is what the major part of sperm is made of) and relieve pressure from the prostate.
Avatar f tn m not a doctor but from the sound of it, it sounds as though your prostate is shrinking or weakening. I suggest you go get yourself checked for prostate cancer the moment you read this.
Avatar m tn Complete. Blood, urine, etc. It was actually to see if I have prostate problems or diabetes because of my frequent urination. So prostate cancer is what I am worried about. But I am also scared because 6 months ago, I had a protected sex with a masseuse (high risk), a month later, I have a very bad fever and sore throat that I hadn't been experiencing in a long time which are the most common symptoms of HIV. I am really scared.
Avatar m tn Kidney stones, bladder conditions/infections, prostate issues, drinking too much coffee or other diuretic, and drinking too much alcohol. There are actually tons of other issues which can go on for quite a while that we normally wouldn't catch on to until they get bothersome.
359574 tn?1328360424 I had been not drinking any coffee at all during the time I'm trying to do the recommendation behavior modifications recommended by my urogynecologist--timed voids, urge suppression, etc. This morning I had a cup since it's the weekend and I'm not at work. Several hours later I had a urinary accident. Since it only takes an hour or so for liquids to reach the bladder, I'm hoping really hard it wasn't the coffee to blame.
Avatar n tn Hello, Dyspareunia(painful intercourse)in males is due to inflammation or infection of the penis, the foreskin, the testes, the urethra, or the prostate gland. It can also be due to irritant contact dermatitis or psychological reasons I would suggest a urologist’s evaluation for the same. Hope it helps.Warm regards.
Avatar m tn Yes - coffee can irritate the prostate & drinking more water is almost always beneficial to the genito-urinary system - for both males & females. Coffee never bothered me in that way (as far as I could tell), but it could for some people...
Avatar m tn My semen seems to be a strong irritant. It causes irritation almost immediately upon contact with sensitive areas, both mine and hers. Is this normal? Is there something I can do about this?
