290532 tn?1308136770 I tapered down to 6 and then saw a doc and got on Prestiq (anti-depressant), Clonidine for the withdrawal and Klonopin for Anxiety and she gave me Ambien CR for at night and in 3 days, I went CT yesterday. At first it really took away the WD feeling, but last night it was torture. I took the ambien, the klonopin and I took .1 mg of clonidine. and my legs were driving me absolutley insane, up all night in pain. My question is, can I take a higher dose of the .
Avatar f tn Found your site yesterday and instead of being on the verge of giving up, I am now on my way to my doctor to ask for Tramadol (and to use every fiber of my being to try not to hit him for not telling me such things existed when he knew I was suffering terrible withdrawl from the tapering off oxycontin and oxy ir's) My question is... since I don't trust my doctor anymore... what dose should I ask for? I was on 100mg oxy twice a day and 20mg oxy ir, 4 times a day...
902736 tn?1242615086 I hear Tram is horrible too, I was addicted to lortab for abt 5 yrs. I am glad you are being monitored! Ask for clonidine, if you can take that for help with w/d.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed tramadol 50 mg. 4xday three years ago for back pain. The doctor whom I like very much and is the head of a large pain clinic assured me that it was not addictive as long as I did not abuse it and I have never one time taken more than prescribed. Sometime back I decided to go off it as my appetite was affected and my skin, (especially my legs), itches. The only good thing is that I lost 40 pounds and am now back to a size 12.
722310 tn?1234762137 Hi Sorry to hear you are having a rubbish time. I have been on Tramadol for nearly3 years now. I have done some research regarding withdrawal as I am aware my body is dependant on it. If you search 'emily posts tramadol withdrawal and recovery room' in this site you will find a forum with lots of people discussing thier withdrawal experiances. It seems to be a mix of people who have been prescribed it and either used it as they were supposed to or have abused it.
Avatar f tn I guess I am using this board for emotional support, as these last two days have been very hard physically and emotionally. I have been on tramadol for the last 4 years for severe migraines. Whenever I would try and go off them I would have severe restless legs and insomnia...and that would be my driving force to refill that prescription and start taking the pills again. I would only take 4 pills a day and that is how it was prescribed to me.
Avatar m tn s while taking the tramadol. Before I stopped the tramadol I went to the Doctor and got Clonidine for Skin bumps hot/cold and blood pressure (.
320944 tn?1245966599 Thanks for caring, I have not had any tram since the day i posted which was 09/13/2010. I got some clonidine .02mg that i take twice a day. The clonidine is actually used for high blood pressure which i do have now from stopping the tram, but there is also some kind of chemical in the clonodine that helps you clear off your opiate receptors, therefore reducing and eliminating your craving for opiate like drugs. Best thing is a months supply only costs $11.00 without insurance.
Avatar m tn s been used for withdrawal, as well as for nerve pain control, and some people have found it very helpful. There are worries with it, though, as it does affect blood pressure. There have also been problems with people having rebound hypertension when they come off it, which is why it should be taken under supervision. As for the Cymbalta, I would seriously doubt it would help. It takes time to build up in your system. It's an antidepressant and also used to treat certain types of pain.
Avatar f tn I took both the clonidine for about 3 weeks and the nerontin for about 6 weeks. They both worked for me. Very easy to come off them too. I am about 5 months clean and drug free. If you have any more questions feel free to ask me.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the quick reply and no i have not had any narcs or anything. The only thing i take are high doses of vites abd veggies also drinkin tons of water and urinating every ten minutes. But i am pleasantly surprised that i do not so far have restless leg syndrome or any of the symptoms im reading on here about. Kind of scares me just waiting for the other ball to drop and start having all these other symptoms. So you think this bieng day three that i should be ok.
Avatar n tn I told her that I want to come off of them and tought I could taper but realized I am not strong willed enough. She gave me 90 tramadol (50mg) and said that would relieve the withdrawal symptoms. I take anywhere from 60-100mg of percocet a day. Does any one have any experience with this? I get no high from tramadol so I thought of using it for several days and then taper off of it. I know the is not good to sub one drug for another but I cannot do cold turkey.
Avatar f tn My boyfriend is making a heroin detox with tramadol, for seven days , first day 1 pill each 4 hours, day 2 one pill each 8 hours...tappering untill nothing ,today is day seven ,he had half a pill of tramadol(100mg each pill),but he´s having withdraws!! We dont understand if they are heroin withdraws or from the tramadol that he has been tappering all week,he s beginning to feel tired, snizing, restless legs,"chicken skin ", heavy body...
Avatar m tn I've been taking pain pills narcotics for months now. I've tried to taper down ,but being an addict, I can't. I need to ask the dr. for a medicine that will get me through the physical withdrawals that I know i will go through. What medicine works the best?
Avatar f tn I just went to my Doctor today.12-5-2012 For clonidine. For withdrawal from 32 days off tramadol and after today will be my 10th day off methadone. The pain from withdrawal did't start untill the third day Methadone time table different from all other opiates. It felt like I was hit with a ton of bricks on day 8.Very severe not one second of releif from the pain the legs the whole bit a bath or hot shower helps but it comes back soon after.Took my first dose clonidine hcl 0.
439522 tn?1214951189 I also looked it up on the FDA website and they had statistics where they have 180 cases reported of withdrawals and drug seeking behavior for it, and like 150,000k for oxy and 75k for hydro. Boy are those numbers all low, you can bet! lol Thanks for the warning, though...I'm definitely taking it all into consideration.
1162610 tn?1262829016 I went to see my pain management doctor today to talk about getting me off hydrocodone. So, he's prescribed clonidine: 0.1 mg tab, 2 times a day to help with the withdrawal symptoms. He's also prescribed Tramadol 50 mg tab, 4 times a day. I also told him I had been depending on the hydrocodone to get to sleep, so he prescribed Ambien to help with that too.
Avatar f tn Each person is different, I know, but for some reason tramadol is very hard to detox off of and the withdrawal lasted about 7-10 day (the worse part of it that is). I had ativans at the time I detoxed off them but it didnt help awhole lot. I would usually take one at night to help me calm down and sleep. I would suggest you talk to you Dr. and see if he can put you on xanax for awhile instead of the ativan. This drug works much better for withdrawaling off of opiates and tramadol(Ultram).
Avatar f tn Be sure to follow your doctors instructions exactly. Tramadol is addicting, and the withdrawal from them can be worse than Norco and Vicodin. You should be ok, since you will be on them for only a few days. I don't have any personal experience with the other med. You are still likely to have some withdrawal symptoms. Read up on the Thomas Recipe, the link is at the bottom of this page, for things you can do to ease the symptoms. Good luck and keep posting.
Avatar f tn if you want to use tramadol as a withdrawal tool then it can be risky. i tried it along with xanax and clonidine and it kept me clean for two months but i fell right back into addiciton with pills right away. it doesnt workm out too oftena nd you suaully need to get off the tramdol as well cuz thats dangerous stuff.
9704730 tn?1405741284 The addiction specialist I saw is actually awesome. He put me on 7 days of neurontin for my pain and clonidine for withdrawal symptoms as well as remeron for sleep. I didn't even use the remeron though because neurontin makes me sleepy. I have heard neurontin can be addictive but I can say it was a miracle for the symptoms and I don't plan on taking it anymore. Just got me through the really hard days. I feel almost human again.
1178983 tn?1279663655 I ended up withdrawing from stronger opiates such as Oxycodone and buprenorphine because of this.. and the withdrawal from those were easier for me to go through than the tramadol withdrawal.. .I used tramadol mainly for it's snri effects it made me productive and stop doing regular drugs like lsd, weed etc.. but in the end all it did was dig me into a hole of sickness whenever I'd run out... on top of all that.. I study drugs and pharmacology for a living..
Avatar m tn i took tramadol pils for 3 years and i want to quit thts my 2nd day but i need help to get over it can someone help me plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
