Avatar m tn He is going to put me on Clonidine 3x a day for 7 days. I also asked him to prescribe something for the diarrhea as well as the aches in pains. I am concerned that after getting off the pain meds completely I will be start experiencing the pain in my back again, but I will not want to get back on anything that strong or anything that is addictive. I am praying that I can get off these by just sticking it out with the clonidine.
Avatar n tn As you may know we are not medical profeesionals on this forum and we can only offer advice based on our own experiences or aid you by doing some research. I am sorry to hear about your mother's condition. I know it must be difficult for her and for you as well to watch her go through this.
Avatar m tn I went to see my doc and he wants me to continue taking the conidine and ativan but to reduce the clonidine to .1 for two days, then 05 for a day then stop it. He advised just to take the avtivan at night until I can fall alseep on my own. He also gave me some roxicet and told me to take 3 today, 2 tomorrow and one the next day. He claims this will help me with cravings until I get into rehab where I can get something tradition for the craving...I start rehab on Monday and it lasts 5 weeks.....
757137 tn?1347196453 Unfortunately I have this too. I do not believe that it has anything to do with the diabetic medication as I had been on the meds for years before this situation occured. Initially I was sent to a Gastroenterologist who was unable to help. Returning to my primary physician she called it "Diabetic Diarrhea" with no other explanation and no help. Subsequently I was sent to another Gastro man and was given a Colenoscopy {numerous).
Avatar f tn I posted this in my long long post about opioid withdrawals but no luck so I thought I would do a new thread.... I am coming off percocet 7.5\325 2 - 5 x a day and oxy 20 mg 2 - 3 x a day for the past couple years. I have a script for clonidine .1 which isn't doing much so I called my regular doc and he is going to put me on Klonopin ( Dosage unknown until I get script tomorrow). From what I can tell these are 2 totally different drugs. Has anyone used Klonopin for opioid withdrawls?
526311 tn?1229286330 The librium and clonidine are to help you not feel the symptoms (or feel less of them) of w/d. They don't delay w/d if that's what you are asking. The diarrhea is a sign that your body is experiencing w/d. Be thankful the librium and clonidine are working so well. You can take immodium for the runs on top of the other two meds.
Avatar f tn My husband has had diarrhea for over three weeks. It first started with vomitting and abdominal pain. We have been to a family doctor three times and a gastro. doctor. The gastro. saw me husband in a closet in a hospital, looked at his hand and told him he had liver problems- note we informed him of family illness, his mother is diabetic and has liver problems. They have taken 6 tubes of blood and a stool sample, but can't seem to find his problem.
Avatar f tn It's called diabetic diarrhea and it is caused by neuropathy. Gastroparesis is another symptom of diabetic neuropathy.
557111 tn?1219712047 I have to recommend to anyone who wants to quit cold turkey to try a drug called Clonidine. I am wearing the patch for 7 days and then I take it off. It has helped tremendously with withdrawals. I have been able to eat and no diarrhea. I have had a lot of anxiety in the beginning so I just took Valium. You have to really watch and talk to your doc about what aminos you take if you use the clonidine. look it up and read about it, i highly recommend it.
Avatar f tn The clonidine helps more than anything and that's an appropriate dose. Do you still have Hydrocodone available to you? You need to get rid of it if you do. What do you plan to do differently this time?
Avatar f tn Thank y'all so much. Yesterday I only took two hydros. One in the afternoon and one late evening when the neuropathy hurts the worst. I'm shooting for just one for the evening only if I feel excruciating pain. My withdrawal symptoms are getting better. I know there are people with much worse medical conditions. I envy and praise God for their accomplishments. I have talked to my doctor and he put me on the Clonidine patch. It helps with the withdrawals tremendesly.
Avatar m tn t know what meds he is already on for his hypertension but Clonidine should help with the elevated BP as well as some of the other things. As for the diabetic issue I guess I would suggest keeping a close watch on his blood sugar levels as he is possibly not going to have much of an appetite....the Thomas recipe at the bottom of the page is helpful for a lot of people so maybe check that out as well....
Avatar f tn Kids at school are beginning to notice and are asking her about it. I have been given a prescription for Clonidine. Has anyone tried Clonidine? Was the Clonidine successful? What side effects were seen?
Avatar m tn I take insulin once a day. A doctor has said I have diabetic enteropathy. I have had this stomach problem for many years and it seems to be getting worse to the point I can't leave the house for fear of an 'accident'. Is there anyone that could help with this or suggest something that would help with the problem. I am getting desperate.
Avatar m tn Clonidine is a must for opiate WD's. At least it was for me. I'm 18 days sober today becauase of it.
Avatar n tn Last year I had a bad bout of diarrhea and constipation that lasted a few weeks. It got better after taking antibiotics but I got dehydrated so I made it a habit to drink lots of water after that.I only noticed that for a while I have been having back pain before I have a bowel movement though the pain goes after I have stool and that my stools more often than not are mushy with a few solid pieces or like sludge if I eat nooodles. Is this cause for concern or is it me drinking too much water.
401554 tn?1270213756 For the last 5 yrs I've been taken the clonidine patch for high BP, no side effects, but the PVC's are still there off and on.
Avatar f tn I am taking clonidine for my Subutex withdrawal. It has definetly helped with the anxious creepy crawly feeling. It also helped with hot flashes. I wasn't given any info on not to mix it with pain meds, but you may want to call you doctor to find out. Or even a pharmacist might be able to tell. good luck!
