I too would recommend trying the Clonidine. As others have said, it is an anti-hypertensive medication that does help to relieve w/d symptoms quite successfully. It will not take them away completely, but it will minimize some of the symptoms, by reducing the sympathetic nervous system response, such as tachycardia and high BP.
It's not a habit-forming drug, and really, the biggest consideration is some hypotension (low BP).
m smoking like 5 to 7 per day or less I really try to save them for morning before bed and the after meals, instead of just smoking for the heck of it... I totaly understand u and I feel the same way too, I'm even embarrassed to be seen doing it and I'm not even showing a baby belly yet.... So don't be so hard on ur self, and just try to really cut down.

If he does want to quit but has a hard time doing so tell him to ask his doctor if they having smoking cessation which is to help people to quit smoking. He can also go cold turkey but if he does make sure he is doing some active and be there for him because having a good friend around to make sure you don't slide back and light up is really helpful.

I was prescribed Wellbutrin (buproprion) for smoking cessation and have been on it for roughly 3 weeks. It is the SR, 150mg in the AM and 150mg in the PM. I have also been on methadone for roughly five years and have been at the same dosage of 25mgs for over a year.
Once starting buproprion (i got the generic), the side affects were pretty bad. I felt like I was on amphetamines.

i'm on wellbutrin to STOP smoking weed, does it really works for that?....and if i smoke what would happen?....or if i get drunk?......my dose is 150, twice a day so in a day i take 300 mg's...and i also take clonazepam for sleeping disorder....
What if one is TRYING to quit smoking, has told the dr they have quit...and the dr does a blood test and finds nicotine in the test...??? and they are actually trying - but using nicotine gum to try to ward off the cravings??? does the gum count against that person as well??? and what if a blood test was also required for insurance purposes??? would the gum affect anything??? if i'm not making much sense, i will clarify if someone wants / needs it...thanks for any assistance...
Ofcourse is not normal because you have asthma and u are smoking. You shouldn't be doing that. STOP SMOKING!!!!!
