Cipralex and alcohol effects

Common Questions and Answers about Cipralex and alcohol effects

ciprodex

hi i just been prescribed this have you taken it before?
I am sure this is directly due to cipralex even though the side effect is not listed as a common side effect of taking cipralex.
LSD has not had much research into its overall effects. Some effects can be very damaging. I had a 'Bad Trip" back in '86 and every once in a while under the right physical circumstances, my body reacts to physical stimulii, setting off a panic like 'trip.
what vitamins and natural remedies (herbs) should i avoid when on cipralex and seoquel ?
I've heard that Prozac has less of this effect for most people, and if you find something that really works for you, some psychiatrists will add wellbutrin to counter the sexual side effects. That means adding another med with more side effects, so I've vote for learning about your sexuality and how to enhance it, but there is stuff out there that might help.
Hi, I started off with depression years ago. Then when the Cipralex stopped working, I realised with my doctor that it wasn't depression anymore, but bad anxiety. My doctor put me on 150mg of Effexor. That didn't help, if anything it got worse. For weeks I had this tightness in my chest. I was really stressed, couldn't deal with anything. One night the pain got really bad and wouldn't go away. I threw up a couple times and nothing made the pain go away.
The doc also said, that I should not be worry, cause the effect of cipralex is to help those who needs it.. if I take it and really don“t need it, it just wont work, instead of giving me other symptoms, or becoming the total opposite, they just wont work.. other drugs like amphetamine and/or coke, would work no matter what you had, but cipralex just will work if I have need for it. Now...
I have not taken the latter due to the weight gain side effect. I was curious about Carbamazepine and if you can offer any advice on this medication. I am currently on Cipralex, Seroquel and Campral (abstinent from alcohol for 11 weeks). Non prescription drugs are Omega 3, multivitamins and ibruprofin for pain. I guess I'm still hoping for a miracle drug since the combination I'm on still leaves me irritable/angry and/or depressed.
One thing ive noticed is my anxiety symptoms are massivley amplified after a night of drinking, the more i drank the night before the worse the anxiety. ive been on a few types of pills to stop it cipralex and athenolol neither had any effect what so ever. im starting to feel like just giving up with doctors and pills and just living my life with it, how ever i really dont want it to get worse. What can i doooo??? please help me and feedback would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Paul.
I have started taking the anti-depressant Cipralex and so far I have been feeling better with the only side effect of having trouble sleeping. But from what I read within 6 weeks new brain cells should already have grown really well. Anyone else use anti-depressants in their recovery and how are you feeling now?
I also take Abilify and Cipralex. If you have decided to deal with your BP that is great, make sure that you research the meds you are prescribed. At the beginning I was given quite a few meds that either didnt work or gave me side effects. You should go to your GP and have a good talk with him/her about your Bipolar, make sure you get all your questions answered, and be truthful and open with your answers otherwise you wont get the solutions you are looking for.
i had my first blackout at 14 and thought it a normal thing.....and had many thereafter!the Lexepro would also intensify the effects of the alcohol.
I have tried to withdraw from Lexapro a couple of times, but I could not cope the side effects. I had been on a 20mg dose for about 9 months, weened myself down 10mg for a month, and tried to go cold turkey. Bad idea. I went back to 10mg for a month then 5mg for another month and once again tried to quit, with the same withrawal symptoms. I know there have been many posts about some of withdrawal problems.
That at lower doses (up to 100mg), it merely acts as a sedative. He said that to get the antidepressant effects that I need I would need to be on a minimum of 600mg, which would also help with the psychotic thoughts. I had bad side effects with seroquel, but the only alternative he mentioned would be to go to hospital to have a medication change/review in a controlled environment which I am not thrilled at either.
Ok so i was diagnosed with bipolar II in 2006, stayed on Lamictan 200mg and Cipralex 10mg for 3 months and stopped....There were always issues in my life, abusive bf, alcoholic mother...so things were a bit out of control then. I got alot better after that, however last year August my moods have became unmanagable, and my GP started me on the Lamictan and Cipralex again.
I've also had chills on and off for two weeks - a symptom I had attributed to my current dose of medications - ritalin, cipralex, wellbutrin, and, as of 2 wks ago...zeldox. All, quite strong. All with side effects. Anyways ,being the worrier that I am, I'm now convinced that I have Gonorrhea. The only symptom that is still present is a dull, traveling pain that travels from my urethra to my prostate and testicles throughout the day.
Have you tried Cymbalta and Cipralex and Lyrica. You said you can't take fibro meds but there are so many I'm hoping you will find something you maybe haven't tried and can take. I would also think about an ANA test and a thyroid test if you haven't already done them. I'm sure you know as a nurse that thyroid issues and Lupus can also cause pain etc. I also discovered that I have a lot of food sensitivities( not true allergies) that were causing swelling, nausea, more pain.
I was diagnosed with Depression about 15 years ago, I have been on numerous different meds, such as prozac, effexor, paxil, celexa, and currently on cipralex. My question is will I ever be able to get off of the meds, or will this be a lifetime thing. The reason for the change in meds is that they work at first, then they seem to not work so the dose is increased then after a while we have to switch. My mother has depression, and I was diagnosed before her.
The risk of dependence increases with higher doses and longer term use and is further increased in patients with a history of alcoholism or drug abuse or in patients with significant personality disorders. The dependence potential is reduced when Lorazepam is used at the appropriate dose for short-term treatment. Addiction-prone individuals (such as drug addicts or alcoholics) should be under careful surveillance when receiving Lorazepam or other psychotropic agents.
25mg twice a day, and now the doctors are making me come off them completely, i was wondering if anyone cud tell me how long xanax stays in ur system, or at least how long the typical withdrawel symptoms last, the added anxiety caused by withdrawels is almost too unbearable and the insomnia doesnt help either, they have put me on cipralex a combo of generalized anxiety disorder medication and an anti depressant in one, it helps, but the side effects is a sore stomach, which doesnt help withdrawe
I haven't heard voices for few years now, since I've been taking Clozaril. It works really well and doesn't have many side-effects for me, except that it makes me really tired. I take it at night so I can just go to bed and sleep it off. I have to get my blood drawn every month to check my white cell counts and if they are ok, I get another month's worth of Clozaril. When I first got diagnosed, the atypical antipsychotics didn't exist, so I used medications like Stelazine.
I will be on medication for life. The treatments in study are far more effective and have far less side effects so I don't even think about it. I live with a psychiatric disability. More importantly they are developing new classes of anti-depressents as well. For a full list of psychiatric medications in development google "psychmeds123". New anti-depressents are released all the time (unlike anti-psychotics).
1) Antidepressants/anti-anxiety (Cipralex or Lexapro) since Aug 2009 (2 years so far) 2) BetaBlocker (Propanaol) -> Time release 40 mg 3) BP is under control Liver, Kidneys, heart are fine.
I'm not saying we shouldn't be aware of negative side effects, all drugs have SOME kind of negative side effect, but you and your doctor should discuss if those side effects outweigh the benefits. I think since you've written to an anxiety forum about this, it might be in your best interest to see your doctor again to help set your mind at ease. It's hard enough to battle depression without the added anxiety of being afraid of your meds.
I do know that if you are currently taking pain medicine it will definitely effect the therapeutic effect of many (perhaps most) bipolar meds. Also alcohol is one of the worst things you can consume while taking these meds so if you have to drink don't drink too much in any given day and try not to drink very often. If most of your problems with the meds are that they make you feel less intelligent or they make you feel "not like yourself" then don't be afraid of the medicines.
I am quite sure that Lexapro or Cipralex, in the long run has an effect on memory. I have been on 5 mg of Cipralex for around 3 years, for general anxiety. Psychiatrist prescribed 10mg., but I know I am very sensitive and stayed on the 5mg. I experience that I dont recollect words or names as fast as I used to do. and I have had instances that my mind was completely "blank". I am going to wean off Cipralex.
I have had similar experiences, except I smoked pot around 2-3 times every day for 6 or 7 years, I am 25 now. I had my first panic attack last September and every since then my life has been hell, I constantly feel weird, disconnected from life, wondering what life is all the time, wondering what time is, worrying about stupid things. I have this strange feeling that never leaves, its like a uncomfortable feeling in my body, like I am going to jump out of my skin or something.
Sometimes, dealing with the underlying anxiety issues associated with palpitations can be more effective than actually treating the palipitations.
The younger they are the more they thing that the world revolves around them (it's just human nature) and if you have a teen, watch out for drug and alcohol use (they may use to shut off their thoughts and hurts). So as I said before, don't you have someone in your life worth healing for?!
