581516 tn?1326073019 I'm just about to start trazedone - I feel so sleepy during the day (currently on zopiclone, cipralex) Cipralex doesn't seem to address my anxiety as well as Paxil. Any feedback helpful.
Avatar m tn How long have you been on cipralex?? I think you need to give it time if you just started, more times than not those side effects such as headache will eventually subside. I wish you luck, is it working for you otherwise? It takes a month sometimes two to get the full therapeutic effect so give it a chance! Good luck to you.
Avatar f tn I was on cipralex (lexapro in the US) for almost 3 years and initially experienced some dry mouth, but no extreme side effects at all. It worked amazingly for me. I started on 10mg and then doubled to 20mg after 1 year. I recently switched to Paxil about 1 month ago, and have really disliked the way it makes me feel. My anxiety has been much worse and the side effects are just awful. It has been so much worse than cipralex.
Avatar n tn You are in the adjustment phase right now, and most likely experiencing the initial start up side effects. What you report is pretty common as far as side effects go. Also, any time you increase your dosage, you can experience a reemergence, or increase in those initial side effects. Adjusting to this med will take some time. Typically, most initial side effects will start to improve about 2 weeks after starting the med (or increasing your dose).
574118 tn?1305135284 ezz, are you taking all these meds under the care of a pdoc? I notice that you are on 2 anti psychotics, why? Why risperdone and stelazin? Are you adding and subtracting meds with your pdoc approval or on your own? Xanax can be very helpful with panic as I have this problem and take it too but you have to be careful with it unless you want to become addicted to it. Have you looked up cipralex and it's side effects? I am not familiar with this drug.
Avatar f tn I am going to be contacting my doctor this morning since none of these symptoms seem normal, I have been reading up on prescriptions and i had alot of the severe side effects from the cipralex and its really scaring me. I will let everyone know what happens next...
Avatar n tn In which case you should see your doctor again and discuss a possible switch to something else with less side effects for you. Upping the dose while you are still experencing so many nasty side effects simply does seem like "good medicine" to me, but I am not a doctor and it's not my place to second guess him, but I would certainly be asking some serious quesitons while I was there. Let us know how you're doing, OK? We are always here.
Avatar f tn I was on cipralex and Wellbutrin for 1 and a half years and then my doc switched me to Effexor for a year which caused more side effects than anything so iv been back on cipralex for about a week, I guess we will see how that goes.
553096 tn?1267348927 ah yea...those possible side effects sound an awful lot like the side effects (sx) of the original treatment. I'm in agreement with getterdone.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have been on Anxiety medication Ciraplex for almost 6 months as i got under the fear of HIV and had serious obsessive behaviour and was put on Cipralex and Xanax for 6 months, i Stopped taking it after i was tested negative for HIV after 6 months as i want to intoxicate myself from these medications.
Avatar f tn I have used lithium for 6 years. At first I didn't have side effects but the bipolar wasn't under control either. For the last 18 months the side effects became worse and worse. In the end I couldn't hold anything in my hand because of tremor, I was dizzy and off balance most of the time, couldn't concentrate, memory non existing, had problems at work, had irrational fears, couldn't drive my car (it has dents on every side!), couldn't climb stairs.
Avatar f tn -( and hate that I read all the sd effects of abilify, and read stories..
Avatar n tn Hi I have just started taking Cipralex (im from uk) and yes i had all those side effects. I started with 10mg, and at first i felt quite shaky my heart was racing and I felt overally paniked, But it will be just fine, I am now on my 3rd week of this medication and the side effects are wearing down.
Avatar m tn I have told my doctor and he just says not to worry about it but it is not getting better. Anyone else have these same side effects? Also I get pins and needles up and down my arms and legs would this be a side effect? Thanks in advance.
Avatar m tn Just to say, insomnia is a very common long-term withdrawal problem when you stop antidepressants. When did that start? How well did you tolerate stopping the paroxetine? Why did you stop taking it? Did it stop working? Did you taper off slowly before starting the cipralex? I'm asking to see if we can trace what's happening and when it started so you know what's causing what.
Avatar f tn In clinical trials, cipralex has been found to be an effective SSRI in the treatment of depression and also in relieving some of the symptoms of fear and panic. It, however, has side effects, as do all medications and will react differently with each individual. Your doctor placed you on this medication for a reason and thought that it would help with your symptoms, so before you give up on it, I think you need to give it a chance to work.
Avatar f tn m on day 4 taking cipralex after switching from escitalopram my question to you all is my anxiety is getting worse by the day and having to take a zopiclone to sleep at night will my anxiety slowly fade in time as I take the cipralex daily no other side effects to report just the heightened anxiety any info on this would be great Thanks Jessica
Avatar f tn Cipralex was my second bad experience with anti-anxiety medication and I know many who will agree that the side effects are not worth it. They just give you a whole new set of problems to deal with. It is outrageous how they hand out these meds like candy, especially to young women like us. My suggestion would be to look into the natural remedies that have been around for centuries and work in such better harmony with your body.
Avatar m tn s also normal to have some side effects, they will also typically start improving by about week 2. The headache and increase in anxiety are likely side effects, those are two pretty common ones. With these kinds of meds, the more patient you can be, the better, because it IS a process that takes time. Sometimes, after the 4-6 weeks are up, people require a dosage increase also, as the med may be working, but not to the desired level yet.
Avatar n tn I am sure this is directly due to cipralex even though the side effect is not listed as a common side effect of taking cipralex.
