Meloxicam is just a glorified Ibuprofen/Aleve med, so you could always try those OTC. You can take up to 800 mg Ibuprofen every 8 hours or 500mg of Aleve twice a day in it's place. Celebrex is a name brand drug and insurance companies hate those namebrands. lol Your doc can sometimes do a prior authorization, though, to get them to pay for it, which is basically paperwork explaining that you' ve tried other things and this is the only drug that works for you.
I have been on methotrexate and celebrex for at least 15 years, probably long. I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.
The dentist sent me back to the surgeon and they gave me a prescription for Celebrex. The Celebrex worked, I could open my mouth all the way and pain free, but only if I kept on taking it. I can't afford that, being a student, so I settled for taking an Aleve whenever the pain gets worse. Now there seems to be a nodule in the hollow of my jaw, just below the TMJ (again, left side only)/ I have pointed this bump out to clinic doctors, and no one gives it any credibility.
Naproxen is just ibuprofen, which is Motrin and Aleve. I would think Celebrex would help a lot more than Naproxen. It can't hurt to ask for it. Naproxen didn't do anything for me, except hurt my stomach. The Celebrex helped a lot, right away.
The dose of my prescription naproxin is 500 mg. twice a day. Aleve is 220 mg twice a day. I just might try taking the Aleve dose instead of the prescription dose and see how I feel. From what ladies have said, taking a prescription for arthritis can cause problems all by itself. I have taken prescription blood pressure meds in the past but I do not tolerate them very well so right now I am only taking a diuretic.
Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.
She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.
I have been prescibed Celebrex for osteoarthris pain. Can it be taken every day for long term management of arthritis.

Imitrex is the brand name of Sumatriptan but I am not sure if it is available without prescription.

I've tried all over the counter anti inflammatory meds and all prescription ones. I'm on Celebrex 400mg a day right now. It's working alright. I would ask them for one. I had to try almost every single one on the market before my insurance would approve Celebrex. And there is no generic so it's much more expensive.
Can you take nexium one day and Prevacid the next? I am struggling to find something to help stop the burning in my chest and back. I started on Prilosec 4 years ago for GERD. No, it would be unheard of for Celebrex to damage your heart valve. Celebrex and similar drugs do cause high blood pressure in many individuals, though.
You might have gone forever and not known about the heart valve if you had not gotten high blood pressure from the Celebrex. Follow whatever advice the cardiologist gave you, and don't worry.
