Avatar n tn Then I just got a 2nd opinion and this dr said to quit Atenolol,Isosobide and Ranexa and start Azor and Bystolic and he wants me to have a Cardiolite stress test. I really do not see an improvement with Azor and Bystolic-I think I have just as much angina maybe more on these 2 drugs. My question is what will stress test show that the heart cath didn't show?
3136355 tn?1343287969 I an 51 years old I visited about 3 neurologists in my lifetime since i was about 10 years old. the last neurologist put me on epilim and azor .5mg - it seem to keep the dizzyness away. if i became dizzy, I was down for quite a few heavy sleeping hours. as soon as i woke up, it was gone. I could never play netball in school, or go dancing with flashing lights etc. since about a year ago, i started having other symptoms as well.
Avatar n tn I recently stopped the flecainide and have had no significant a-fib that I can discern, although some skipped beats. I do continue to take bystolic and azor for high blood pressure. However, since discontinuing the flecanide, I have had what I would describe as a pounding heartbeat (not rapid), dizziness, and consistent blood pressure readings of 140s/50s.
Avatar f tn I stopped Azor 5/20 mg about one month ago, still having side effects. Has anyone stopped bp pills and had side effects lasting this long. I was on the drug for two years. Stopped because I started getting side effects that I first got when I started the pill.
Avatar f tn CT scan shows no pancreas abnmormality. EGD just yesterday shows no ulcers. He has just taken me off the nexum, lipitor and azor. No ETOH, no NSAIDS etc. Every time I eat I have this pain. It is driving me crazy. I had been taking ibuprofin for the pain.
455429 tn?1291260759 If it doesn't say "oma" in your report, it's a good sign. (carcinoma, etc.
6295353 tn?1395241495 Oma gosh gudluck! Yay u get to meet ur baby soon.
486822 tn?1208800499 Has anyone here hadan RAI for hyperthy? Can you tell me a little bit about what to expect. I'm very nervous about this because of what happens when the gland begins to die and starts dumping hormones in the blood stream. I read it can cause a storm and with my heart problems and high blood pressure, I'm terrified! Does anyone know if being on high does of beta blocker will help this. I'm currently on 400 mg of PTU per day, 200 mg of atenolol, and Azor for BP as well.
1090984 tn?1463769850 I never had a problem until I had my first baby and a week later my bp was 161/110 2nd baby after a week shot up to 191/110. Took forever to go down and was finally put on Azor 5/40 plus a water pill. I went off because my bp was normal after a year or 2, then one night I had a heavy chest, I took my bp and it was 180/108. What concerns me is my diastolic stays high, in the morning my bp can go down to 120/90, the disatolic remains high. or I get readings of 150/99 to 117/91.
Avatar f tn Oma is dutch and Cherokee for grandma
Avatar n tn I am concerned. I take Azor for high blood pressure, I also have been exposed to TB (1987 took INH and B6 six months) I also have lactose intolerance, I take enzyme for. Should I take this medicine? My blood pressure is controlled with the medication. If I take the digestive enzyme could that eleviate the problem of lactose intolerant? I don't know what to do.
Avatar f tn My dad's second wife was from Holland, so we called her Oma, the Dutch diminutive for grandma, and my mom's second husband was of Greek heritage (came to this country at age 2) so he got Papou and my mom (by virtue of being his wife) got YiaYia, the Greek names for Grandpa and Grandma. (My dad stayed "Grandpa Tom.") When Oma died, my father married again, and she is "Grandma Eileen.
Avatar f tn Cystic Hygroma is old terminology(the ending -oma means tumor and this is not a tumor), as the more accurate name for this condition is Lymphatic Malformation(LM). LMs are typically a fluke and there really is not a known cause for the condition. Though few may be associated with other medical conditions, like Noonan syndrome or Turners syndrome. A couple good, accurate websites for this condition are Boston Children's Hospital website: http://www.childrenshospital.
468015 tn?1218719780 Actually, it's both (Anything ending in -oma means tumor). I had one. It can also be called a cavernous hemangioma. It's basically a cluster of blood vessels.(Like a birthmark called a "strawberry" or "stork bite".) They're more common than one might think. Just keep your blood pressure low and have it monitored yearly by an MRI.
Avatar f tn Her oncologist is really a great guy and she’s been with him for four years cured from lymph Oma up to this point so I’m sure he’s making the right move I hope he is
6710217 tn?1386110892 my mom I told her bad news..... that she was going to be an Oma (Dutch) she started to cry. as for my family overseas I called them to tell them. and friends we just texted.
Avatar n tn when wired for a long period of time you can sleep on it or she is doing speed balls thats crank and heroin or 8 ball the weight sounds like water retention the kidneys are not filtering as they should I know when I was wired I hardly ever peed because I never drank water and the yellowing of the skin is jaundice that means the liver is being compromised can not filter the toxins fast enough. When you starve the organs these things can happen. Is she staying up for many days in a row?
973741 tn?1342342773 Since changes were made to this site, I am finding the speed of the site to be beyond slow. So many different things are loading on each page that to pull one up, I have to have a lot of time to sit and wait for it to do so. If I want to answer a question, I again wait a long time (and we are talking 5 to 8 or more minutes) for a question to show itself and to be able to scroll up or down to read it as the page reloads.
Avatar f tn Yea, they do use them interchangeably. I used to work on the oncology floor of OSF. While I was there I learned to fear the "--oma" at the end of a word. I showed my doc a red mole thing on my boob. She said it was a capillary angioma. I was scared, until she explained it only meant a red mole.
Avatar f tn Then when I had my gp look at it he said it was nothing to worry about and that it was something that I forget the name of I just know it ended in oma. He said it was like a scarring. But it has always remained a bump that looks and feels callous like and also it does not bleed much. it does not dimple either but there usually looks like their is a darker spot in the middle. Can you give me any insight into what it could be?
1960984 tn?1328468228 Everyone in my family (my brothers, dad, & myself) started calling my mom grandama, needless to say, she hated it, she is only 16 years older than me. Now my kids are 12 & 8 with cell phones. Grandma has been chopped sown to gma (& gpa for grandpa). It doesn't seem to bother her as much, lol.
Avatar n tn It was a great help for my parents and oma when they went with me as they were able to find out how to help, what they were doing that was hindering my progress and therefore they needed to stop, and were able to understand the illness a lot better. Definitely be supportive. Don't express doubts, though you can approach him in a, "How can I help?" sort of way.
1396598 tn?1283945721 m 30 years old and currently 8 weeks 5 days along with my 2nd baby. I weighed 193 when I got pregnant with my DD, only gained 13 lbs. I lost my baby weight (although not the flubber!) when I nursed, but quickly gained it back when I couldn't nurse anymore. This time around I started off weighing 210! Ugh.. Oh well. I keep fluctuating in weigh so far - between 208 and 212.
Avatar f tn I don't know what can be added to what the doctor has said. You have serious symptoms, and you should get some clarification and proper treatment. It may be a good idea to see another doctor. A word that ends with "oma" indicates a turmor...but that appears to be ruled out! I don't know nor can I find any definition for "chromophecytoma." or related spelling of the word..
Avatar f tn Time WILL speed up, I would definitely get a protein shake, the amino acids are really needed right now to heal you. Keep moving and stay as distracted from how you feels as possible. Hang in there, a few more days and you should feel like it's getting a little easier. The it just keeps getting better and better. You are free! That is progress, even if it feels horrible.
