Common Questions and Answers about Azor vs exforge

norvasc

Avatar n tn I am concerned. I take Azor for high blood pressure, I also have been exposed to TB (1987 took INH and B6 six months) I also have lactose intolerance, I take enzyme for. Should I take this medicine? My blood pressure is controlled with the medication. If I take the digestive enzyme could that eleviate the problem of lactose intolerant? I don't know what to do.
Avatar n tn Then I just got a 2nd opinion and this dr said to quit Atenolol,Isosobide and Ranexa and start Azor and Bystolic and he wants me to have a Cardiolite stress test. I really do not see an improvement with Azor and Bystolic-I think I have just as much angina maybe more on these 2 drugs. My question is what will stress test show that the heart cath didn't show?
Avatar n tn Hello, how are you , I have a question about my mom's health. She is 55 and she has high blood pressure. she's been treating it with Exforge medication which I think dropped her blood pressure to normal. She is very thin asian decent, never really had cholestoral problems but I think our family might have a history of weak heart and kidney. She been told she has enlarged heart and something found in her kidney (I dont remember what it was) Right now she is taking Exforge, Fish Oil.
3136355 tn?1343287969 I an 51 years old I visited about 3 neurologists in my lifetime since i was about 10 years old. the last neurologist put me on epilim and azor .5mg - it seem to keep the dizzyness away. if i became dizzy, I was down for quite a few heavy sleeping hours. as soon as i woke up, it was gone. I could never play netball in school, or go dancing with flashing lights etc. since about a year ago, i started having other symptoms as well.
Avatar n tn I recently stopped the flecainide and have had no significant a-fib that I can discern, although some skipped beats. I do continue to take bystolic and azor for high blood pressure. However, since discontinuing the flecanide, I have had what I would describe as a pounding heartbeat (not rapid), dizziness, and consistent blood pressure readings of 140s/50s.
Avatar f tn I stopped Azor 5/20 mg about one month ago, still having side effects. Has anyone stopped bp pills and had side effects lasting this long. I was on the drug for two years. Stopped because I started getting side effects that I first got when I started the pill.
Avatar f tn CT scan shows no pancreas abnmormality. EGD just yesterday shows no ulcers. He has just taken me off the nexum, lipitor and azor. No ETOH, no NSAIDS etc. Every time I eat I have this pain. It is driving me crazy. I had been taking ibuprofin for the pain.
486822 tn?1208800499 Has anyone here hadan RAI for hyperthy? Can you tell me a little bit about what to expect. I'm very nervous about this because of what happens when the gland begins to die and starts dumping hormones in the blood stream. I read it can cause a storm and with my heart problems and high blood pressure, I'm terrified! Does anyone know if being on high does of beta blocker will help this. I'm currently on 400 mg of PTU per day, 200 mg of atenolol, and Azor for BP as well.
1090984 tn?1463769850 I never had a problem until I had my first baby and a week later my bp was 161/110 2nd baby after a week shot up to 191/110. Took forever to go down and was finally put on Azor 5/40 plus a water pill. I went off because my bp was normal after a year or 2, then one night I had a heavy chest, I took my bp and it was 180/108. What concerns me is my diastolic stays high, in the morning my bp can go down to 120/90, the disatolic remains high. or I get readings of 150/99 to 117/91.
Avatar n tn Well, the swelling is better today. When I saw the Nephrologist he put me on Exforge. I called his office and told them I couldn't wait until the 30th due to the extreme swelling. They took me off Exforge and changed it to Diovan -- this was on Monday and today the swelling is somewhat better. Not perfect, but quite a bit better. You give some good information in your last response which I will take to heart.
Avatar n tn The only medication I've been taking for the ulcer is Prilosec. I've been taking Exforge 10mg for high blood pressure for 4 years and have not had a problem with constipation. The constipation and soft stools started before the Ulcer diagnoses and Prilosec. I recently had a CT scan and was told I have spots on my liver. I'm wondering if this could be a cause.
Avatar n tn I currently am taking 50mg. of Atenolol & 2/160mg. of Exforge for high BP. I had chemo before which raised my BP. Now I am getting Topotecan and my BP is averaging 93/71. I don't have any unualy effects of my low BP. Is this dangerous to have BP this low?
Avatar f tn My husband has dementia. He takes the Bupropion in the morning along with his Aricept and Exforge (for blood pressure). He gets drowsy right after taking his pills and I think it may be the Bupropion HSL SR causing this. His neurologist told him the anti-depressant would probably make him "a little more fuzzy in his thinking". My husband is usually at his best in the morning as far as clear thinking goes.
Avatar f tn The doctor said nothing to worry about, RA was negative but the ANA was positive. I take Exforge for HBP. I take Vicodin for the pain but does not work and Mobic does not seem to work either. Any ideas?
377135 tn?1200321477 Dear Doctor. For the last several weeks I have experienced a strange kind of pain or ache in my left shoulder, shoulder blade and into the back part of my left arm, accompanied by a tingling sensation the entire length of my arm and into my hand. The pain isn't a sharp or shooting pain really, it's more like how your arm would feel if you carried around a weight for awhile. My arm is not weak nor does it feel heavy, just that strange ache and the tingling.
Avatar m tn He just started on a very low dose blood pressure med withen the last three months azor and doing good on that but the doctor said that because of the cyst they may had been the cause of the rise in blood pressure. Is all this info a cause to be alarmed. I read there is no cure for polycystic kidney disease only dialysis and transplant but that is still no gaurantee that the cyst wont return. I am afraid for him and not sleeping it is about 3:50 a.m now and my mind just racing.
Avatar m tn I also have chronic high blood pressure, which is controlled with Azor, so I try to avoid Benadryl and Claritin, in favor of other medications which are more friendly to hbp sufferers. I still wonder if it could be a yeast infection, as the rash came on a day after a long flight where I was forced to sit with my arms crossed, as the person sitting next to me was very obese and pushed well into my personal space.
343006 tn?1314446471 I think you should find a new doctor. Most BP meds cause nasty side-effects such as allergies, nasal congestion, sneezing, itching eyes and nose, at least for me. I had to get off ACE, ARB, and alpha blockers. I am now on beta blocker Bystolic. Tired and slower heart rate. Some allergic reaction but not as bad as Diovan, Norvasc, Altace, Exforge, Cardura. I don't know much about CCB;s in general. I empathise with you and wish you the best.
483733 tn?1326798446 And, as with anything else, CALL YOUR DOCTOR. I was on a med called Azor (also Norvasc) and those pills are known to have that affect. So I switched to a new pill called Tekturna, and it is working well for me. I take it at night, and it seems to minimize the swelling during the day. Be vigilant... it would be terrible for you to be dealing with so many issues that you don't fully understand. The more you learn, the more you can help yourself.
Avatar f tn I exercise at least 1 hr each day for 5 days a week. I also take Exforge (lowest dosage) once a day to maintain a normal blood pressure. I also occassionally purge myself when I feel like I ate too much as the feeling tends to get worse when I eat a lot. It was also a way for me to lose weight. I know it is a disorder but I cannot help it. These past few weeks, I have been fighting to keep away from doing it but I am unsuccessful. I will keep trying to fight and hopefully will prevail.
Avatar m tn Lactulose vs. Xifaxan to decrease the ammonia. And beta blockers vs. banding for the varices which I presume are esophageal. You will get variations of experiences here which are therapeutic relative to your anxiety and directive relative to the facts But go to your Hepatologist with these anxieties because you can manage the effects of cirrhosis. My best.
Avatar f tn You just have to do it awhile and you learn what is low vs high (ie knuckle deep to reach it vs full middle finger vs full ring finger). Then soft vs hard would be the difference between your lips and nose. I know way to much information, but you asked;-) It is also best when you cervix is wet (ie egg white stretchy discharge). Just remember most fertile is SHOW--Soft, High, Open, Wet. Again sorry I can't help with open vs closed. Good luck.
2089460 tn?1332717871 m on a high dose of Oxycontin, Valium, for pain due to my injury, Azor and Benecar for my hypertension, and Amitryptiline to prevent migraines and help me to sleep. I pray that I'm not pregnant but if I am, what do I do? My husband and I obviously aren't trying to have a baby right now due to the medications I am taking. I am 31 years old and have never been pregnant before.
Avatar f tn Study Confirms Benefits of Vitamin E in Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis Megan Brooks May 4, 2010 — Supplementation with the natural form of vitamin E (800 IU/day) has beneficial effects in patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), but pioglitazone's benefits are less clear, according to the latest findings from the Pioglitazone vs Vitamin E vs Placebo for the Treatment of Nondiabetic Patients with Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (PIVENS) trial, reported online April 28 in the New England
