Then I just got a 2nd opinion and this dr said to quit Atenolol,Isosobide and Ranexa and start Azor and Bystolic and he wants me to have a Cardiolite stress test. I really do not see an improvement with Azor and Bystolic-I think I have just as much angina maybe more on these 2 drugs. My question is what will stress test show that the heart cath didn't show?

I have a strong family history of heart diease and hypertension. I never had a problem until I had my first baby and a week later my bp was 161/110 2nd baby after a week shot up to 191/110. Took forever to go down and was finally put on Azor 5/40 plus a water pill. I went off because my bp was normal after a year or 2, then one night I had a heavy chest, I took my bp and it was 180/108.

I have to sleep it off, usually by morning it has gone. I am only on azor ,5mg 3 pills, every morning. this help for the dizzyness, so I believe. my husband want me to go and see another neurologist, as we do not know what is wrong. but due to all the tests I have done in my life, and costs I just do not see my way in going through all this again. could this symptoms be menopouse related, high blood pressure, should i rather go and see a normal GP first??

I recently stopped the flecainide and have had no significant a-fib that I can discern, although some skipped beats. I do continue to take bystolic and azor for high blood pressure. However, since discontinuing the flecanide, I have had what I would describe as a pounding heartbeat (not rapid), dizziness, and consistent blood pressure readings of 140s/50s.

I stopped Azor 5/20 mg about one month ago, still having side effects. Has anyone stopped bp pills and had side effects lasting this long. I was on the drug for two years. Stopped because I started getting side effects that I first got when I started the pill.

I also have had pain and burning in my right retrosternal area and grinding pain in my back under my right scapula for years. The pain has been getting worse but CT scans are negative despite recently a serum amylase of 633. My Gastroenterologist says surgery (cholecystectomy), is not warrented since the CT scans are negative. What is causing the elevated amylase? CT scan shows no pancreas abnmormality. EGD just yesterday shows no ulcers.He has just taken me off the nexum, lipitor and azor.

Has anyone here hadan RAI for hyperthy? Can you tell me a little bit about what to expect. I'm very nervous about this because of what happens when the gland begins to die and starts dumping hormones in the blood stream. I am concerned. I take Azor for high blood pressure, I also have been exposed to TB (1987 took INH and B6 six months) I also have lactose intolerance, I take enzyme for. Should I take this medicine? My blood pressure is controlled with the medication. If I take the digestive enzyme could that eleviate the problem of lactose intolerant? I don't know what to do.

m on a high dose of Oxycontin, Valium, for pain due to my injury, Azor and Benecar for my hypertension, and Amitryptiline to prevent migraines and help me to sleep. I have started taking Norvasc for Hypertension and am having side effects such as nausea, headache, and it seems to be causing some eye pain and pressure. My 79 year old mother, who lives in another state, is on medication for hypertension. She takes Carvedilol, Diovan, Dilitiazem, and Clonidine. Exercise may help to bring your blood pressure down. Also, do you drink milk or eat yogurt every day? Because they have calcium in them, these foods can help control blood pressure, too. (Nonfat types are best, and look for yogurt that has Vitamin D listed on the label.) What about alcohol use?

I just been diagnose with hypertension this month. I been going every week to measure my pressure and was first week 180/100 second week 182/103, the doctor decide to put me in medication bisoprolol/hctz 5/6.25 Then the third week with the medicine was 160/93, she decide to change the dosage to 10mg, at the four week the pressure when finally down to 138/86. she said i should keep taking the medication and they will see me again in June. My question is why there are some days when I take my blood pressure the readings between left and right arm are very big. For example today early in the morning my left arm show a lecture of 150/100 and the right 135/95, I wait for ten minutes and my reading were 135/92 and 125/82. Thank you for your reply. I went through all check ups before I knew I am having a panic attacks. And after I found out that everything is fine I stopped visiting a doctor. So I didn't ask for further medical help. The reason way is that I really believe that I can go through this without medications. After using the meds people are going through crises again, so why don't I do that now. I don't have any reason not to.

So, yes, you are correct that propanolol works better for anxiety due to the nonselective effect. In terms of your white coat hypertension, we do know that having white coat hypertension is not something to ignore and I actually recommend treating people even with white coat hypertension because getting blood pressures in the 150's at any time are not good.

Went for simple eye exam 2 wks. ago.....didn't think they would take my BP, but the minute they said they would take it, I immediately freaked out...it was 195/124 and the eye doctor wanted me admitted to the ER! Told him I have severe white coat syndrome and my BP is always elevated when I visit any doctor or clinic. It's been two wks. since that exam and I am freaking out. He scared me so much that I can no longer take my BP at home with a home monitor for fear it will be high.
