Common Questions and Answers about Azithromycin and fever

I still have a mild fever here and there and swollen lymph nodes in the groin area. Other symptoms such as body aches and burning sensation during urinating are absent. I just want some reassuring because I am dead worried about it. It's my first time having an STD. Thank you for your insight.
I've had a fever between 100.5-101.8 over the last two days, burning urination, blood in urine, slight fatigue at night, and no other symptoms. I just began taking an unused Z-pak I've had. I know this could be chlamydia, gonorrhea, and or UTI. 1) Will Z-pak help? 2) What other drug/dosage is commonly prescribed for UTIs? I cannot afford to visit a clinic/doctor right now at all, so telling me to ask my doctor, consult my care provider, etc, though understandable, will be of absolutely no help.
That said, your apparent lymphadenopathy came on a bit late for ARS, and ARS almost always is accompanied by fever. I have never heard of azithromycin causing acute lymph node inflammation (lymphadenopathy), but any drug can rarely cause atypical allergic reactions, so I can't say azithromycin isn't the cause - and the timing is right. In response to your direct question, you should have an HIV test. I don't expect it to be positive, but better safe than sorry.
I am not saying its possible, but I am not saying its impossible either, and I think the Doc and most officials will agree with that. Yes then I agree that if it were possible, the chances are close to zero and hence the chance of anyone visiting this site for an answer, for practical purposes is zero.
hey! Recently I was very sick and was given azithromycin for five days. While I was on it, I had terrible stomach pain and diarrhea. Now, it is about three to four days after, and I've been noticing blood in my urine. I also have stomach pain every so often, lower back pain, and feel very tired during the day. This all started about three days into taking the medicine. I'm 19 years old and I'm a virgin so there is no chance of pregnancy.
But he said i had a fever, and gave me some eye drops, some mucinex, and some antibiotics (Azithromycin). He didnt tell me exactly what for, but i figured it would help with whatever was going on in my body?? Now, the pharmacist just gave me the medicine, and i went home to take it...but i didnt realize that there was instructions on how to take the pills?? I was not feeling good at all, so i just took one of the pills. Didnt look at the back of the pill to see that it said Day 5???
a very early stage, no sore throat but a 102 fever. I was put on Zithromax. On Friday I still had a 102 fever and the sore throat developed and was horrible. I put a call into my doctor who said that I need to give the antibiotics time to work. It's now Monday - my sore throat is gone but I'm still battling a fever. Plus my chest is very sore - not when I take deep breaths but it feels more like a bruise - it hurts when I walk or move. I have not been coughing though.

He has been running a fever for 4 weeks, has joint pain, and overall lameness now. He needs help putting on his socks and shoes.
He started out with bronchitis and was put on Azithromycin for 3 days. Once he was off he had high fever and still coughing. We took him back to his doctor and had x-rays taken. He then had pneumonia in his right lower lobe and was put on Cleocin for 10 days. Once he was off the Cleocin he started having fever again and still had his cough. Took him back to his doctor and had more x-rays. He had pneumonia again, but in his left lower lobe. He was put back on Cleocin.
IGM: 39 IND, 41++, 45+, 58+ and on IGG I had 39 IND and 41+. I have been taking antibiotics for about five months and I still don't feel good. I'm starting to wonder if this is indeed lyme. Thinking back, I think I felt better a couple months ago and now seem to be getting worse again. Any suggestions on my test results? I am considered negative on paper, but I know that doesn't always mean much. Any advice, or similar experiences that one could share would be appreciated. Thanks!
I also had a medrol pack that I will finish tomorrow. I am running a fever and still have a lot of pain and pressure in my whole lower jaw. What should I do next?
I would definitely put a call into his doctor and not only tell him that he's still feeling sick, but also let them know that his fever goes up following his med dose. As this is now Friday evening of a long, holiday weekend, you may even want to consider taking him to either the local ER or an urgent care facility rather than wait until Monday - a high fever like that for the length of time tha the's had it is definitely an indication that something is going on.
I have a fever on and off for 2 weeks and 3 days now, i had a cdc blood test(normal) and hiv antibody blood test(negative). i have taken antibiotics (azithromycin) this week. The doctor did some diagnostic; for example hearing the back of my lungs, my heart. and they said it was the cold/ or flu. I haven't been sneezing, sinus, or running nose. I had a check my temperature few times in the doctor's and it's normal, the highest i got was 99.3 degrees farenheit.
You are welcome. It seems like a virus due to the low grade fever and no pus in the throat. Let me know how it goes.
Sunday night (~48 hours later) I suddenly start having a mild fever (~100.7) and achy body similar to the flu. I have no urethral pain, no discharge, nothing else so far just the fever. Is it possible that this is an STD, or did I just coincidentally catch a flu/cold? I have an old Z-Pak I never used from being sick last winter that I started taking today ( I know I shouldn't play doctor)... but would It make sense to take it now? If it is an STD, would azithromycin in this dosage regimen help?

The culture was also negative for TB bacilli and other microbes. The fever is now present all through the day, it hovers around 99.2 to 100.6 F and subsides spontaneously at around midnight and drops to below 98.6 f till morning. an hour or two after waking up, the temperature reaches 99.2 even with out exertion of any kind. I am continuing AKT with same dosage. I do not know what to do now. I am back to square one as far as diagnosis is concerned. I don’t know where to start.
My husband developed what we thought was Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (rickettsial bacteria carried by dog ticks)in early June and was very sick for 3 weeks. He was a textbook case...fever, then a spotted rash that started on extremities and went all over including palms and soles of feet, muscle pain, joint pain, headache, loss of appetite, swelling of hands, feet, face, symptoms of meningitis.
Sunday - Last day on took Zythromax. Woke up in the morning with cold chills and a fever and my lower lip was very swollen and sore. The sores now had grown and joined together into a larger scab and there were weeping blisters around the perimeter. I have never had a cold sore before, but also understand these are very common.
After that I felt as tho I flushed the treatment out because my symptoms came back I went for another checkup and this time they gave me azithromycin. I took it and I felt fine and agiain on the 3rd day I decided to drink and felt really sick. For the next few days it all went down hill I started out with severe back pain dizziness cloudiness heart palpitations I was extremely thirsty no matter how much water I drank , I couldn't sleep, nervousness.
But due to diarrhea it dosent seem working so in next visit ENT specialist prescribed some digestive syrup and pro biotic capsuls, bcoz of which my diarrhea is in control but i got very itchy skin. And when ever i do some hard physical activity there forms a congestion in my throat and right side of my chest start paining with heavy breathing. So i m scared to death, on some health related website i read that above are the symtoms of primary HIV infection.
Along with this discomfort came a mild fever, a bad headache, painful and sensitive eyes, and a minor toothache. I have no clue what is going on and am really looking for some answers. I have been administered antibiotics two days ago and nothing has changed thus far. I was put on Azithromycin Tablets and they only last for 5 days. Do you think this will work?
Six 250-mg tablets, [sometimes/often] taken 2 on the first day and then one each day after that. I've seen them in blister-packs, I think.
I didn't really mention any other symptoms because they are very minor. I did see an internist and was given azithromycin. I just finished the 5 day course treatment and i still have headaches... they are not as bad though... Don't have any nasal discharge or fever... i was given acetaminophen for the headaches and it does help.
I have been taking Azithromycin for 4 days. I have gotten worse. Still have fever and have developed nasal congestion with yellow discharge. ENT gave me Spectracef. I read that Spectracef does not treat mychoplasma. So, is there an antibiotic that would treat both mychoplasma AND sinusitis incase I have one or both?
Run-of-the-mill strep throat usually gets a single whopping antibiotic (e.g. Z-pac/ azithromycin) but not double antibiotics and steroids to boot. Have they perhaps mentioned a concern for MRSA (penicillin resistant staph infection)? That would make more sense... As far as they reaction goes, I think it is more likely you have a mild thyroiditis -sort of like your thyroid getting the flu. This would cause the rate increase.
Hello, I just received a positive chlamydia test result and have been treated with a single dose of 1 g azithromycin. I received a negative result at my last test 18 months ago and the only person I have had sexual intercourse with is my (now ex)-boyfriend. He had thought he tested negative for everything when we were both checked prior to initiating unprotected sex 18 months ago. However, it turns out he was only tested for viral disease via blood work (HIV, HSV, Hep B/C).
Now, I have been going through the cough and had 2 days of fever. The cough is still there for the last 10 days along with chills sometimes. No other symptoms though. I am under medication of Azithromycin for the last week. Still cough exists. Just for the peace of my mind, I have give my blood sample for HIV testing with Labsafe. Waiting for my results. . My questions are: 1. What are the chances of HIV case in my scenario? 2.
