antihistamine

Avatar n tn I always have a bad reaction to insect bites or stings with really bad swelling. Normally necessitates application of loads of antihistamine cream, taking maximum dose Piriton tablets for days, then a course of strong antibiotics. If I'm in a situation where I know there is the risk of being bitten, is there any advantage in taking Piriton tablets in advance - along with using insect repellent?
Avatar f tn Here's one for the books. My daughter has had a allergic reaction to an oral antihistamine she took for what appeared to be hives just below the right side of her derriere. This little bout of hives were taking their time going away and so she thought by taking the antihistamine it would help the process.

Avatar n tn I have found that what has helped my endometriosis the most is Natural Progesterone Cream, prescribed by my doctor. It is not the same as Synthetic Progesterone and is much safer. I have been using the cream for about 2 years and no longer need to get yearly laporoscopies. I have also cut down on my dairy intake due to the excess estrogen levels in dairy which feed endo. I find my calcium in other foods instead.
200220 tn?1361951554 Dr. Lupus: My holistic doctor gave me natural progesterone cream to use to help me stabilize my moods and pick up the free estrogen that is floating in my body. My question to you is it dangerous to use with taking levothyroxine 37.5 with having hashimotor disease. My doctor is an MD also and seem to be very knowledgeable about the thyroid along with helping me with celiac disease. What is your experience with this natural product.

Avatar m tn This rash is really itching and covers most of my shaft. I applied diphenhydramine 2% cream and it burned extremely bad. I have attached some pictures of my penis at the moment.
Avatar n tn I haven't, even once, had a problem with constipation in over 25 years because of my healthful vegan diet. I am in perimenopause and have been using 20 mg. per day of natural progesterone cream for over three years with impressive results. Night sweats, PMS, breast tenderness, moodiness, insomnia completely disappeared. Menstrual cramps and heavy flow drastically reduced. No hot flushes during the day. Three weeks ago I changed brands of natural progesterone cream to save a bit of money.
Avatar n tn First you need to stay on antihistamine until it is gone. Benadryl is great stuff. You should see a GP or allergist doctor. You definitely had a reaction to that sting and are still having it. Sounds like the ER ruled out anaphylaxis but you did have Benadryl in you so that I'm not sure about the results. Just stay on antihistamine on schedule to prevent something worst.
Avatar f tn my 18 month old has a rash that starts in her armpit & then lightly spreads out. her armpit just looks very red & gets moist sometimes. the rest of the rash is dry. when it appeared it looked like the redness she had in every crease on her little newborn body. she was big baby & each crease was a little red. but then i put a little natural salve or my breastmilk & it went away quickly. not this though. the ped subscribed "oxiconazole nitrate cream - 1%, a month ago.
Avatar f tn There's some pretty expensive organic, all natural ones out there with bases like almond oil etc (maybe try a health food shop? Or online) and a zinc cream/stick would be fine too (but gross for a whole body covering).
Avatar m tn ve tried almost everything including Vaseline (I used and still use to moistureize), Rex Eme (usually I only use this to temporarily soothe the flared area), Tepezquoite (a natural ointment), omniopathy, test including patch tests, ***** tests and blood tests. I'M DESPERATE. I've even considered a biopsy. Please help.
Avatar m tn You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). But they are available under prescription and should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Avatar m tn For the rashes, I was prescribed antihistamine (loratidine) and betamethasone cream(cortisteroids). I used the cream for 2 days and then stopped using but continued with taking the antihistamine. At 92 days post exposure, I again got tested for Hiv with Axsym hiv 1 and 2 ag/ab combo assay and it came out negative. My questions are: 1) Should i depend on all the tests that carried out.
Avatar n tn I began using a natural product called Progesto-Mend and later natural Progesterone cream (for only one cycle so far) because from the symptoms I was having I figured I was Estrogen dominant. No headaches this month, the brain fog is almost unnoticeable though I have small memory/attention lapses, I seem to be sleeping better but the itchiness remains!
Avatar f tn I believe it started maybe 6 months ago. It was a tiny cluster of 4 or 5 blister looking spots little bigger than a pen tip. Thought it was from work and elastic gloves grinding in my wrist. Shortly after it grew to red and about 1" down and covered left to right. It then moved to both wrists. After maybe a month of trying to not agrivate it at work it started to go away. Then it blew up covering both my inner forearms. With either small red spots or raise red blotches all over.
Avatar n tn and clear, like water 4 your hands feel hot and kind of itchy i have had cortizone cream and steroid cream but nothing works. many years with this has lead me to come up with things. wash with cold water. soak hands in cold water with baking soda and drink echinacear root tea. i am not sure what causes these blisters but once you catch the first one keep washing your hands under cold water.
