Avatar f tn I just read on another site that being on Nexium can cause biliary dyskinesia. Can anyone relate to this? Has anyone stopped the Nexium and had the biliary dyskinesia go away and gallbladder return to a normal ejection fraction? I have been on Nexium for the last year. I was on it once previous to this go-around and had stopped taking it for a few months. Then a horrible acid reflux hit. I was on Lorazepam, at the time, too, when the acid reflux hit.
Avatar m tn My ejection fraction was at 17%, and I was officially diagnosed with biliary dyskinesia. I then had to have my examination and meeting with a surgeon for gallbladder removal, the only known remedy for this. The surgeon was concerned with my results. He said he didn't want to remove my gallbladder. He says i'm much too young to have these problems, and for it to be such a low ejection fraction for such a healthy young boy. He thinks other things may be affecting my gallbladder.

Avatar m tn Is there any correlation between biliary dyskinesia and L-arginine? I heard L-arginine affects the sphincter of the oddi, which is the cause to my biliary dyskinesia if I'm not mistaken. Does the L-arginine help or hurt? Or is it neutral?
Avatar n tn Hi Doctor Can you please address the query posted(June 26), also along with that can you please clarify if Gall bladder dyskinesia is same as Biliary Diskinesia Thanks Smitha
Avatar f tn My doctor thinks I may have biliary dyskinesia. I have a HIDA scan next week - I know, I'm jumping the gun a bit. I haven't been able to find much information on this online. My main symptom is chronic nausea - I never though much of the mild sharp pain in my right upper abdomen until he asked about it. Why would biliary dyskinesia cause so much stomach discomfort and nausea with relatively little pain in the gallbladder? Also, I am wondering about treatment.
Avatar n tn I have biliary dyskinesia with an ejection fraction of 23%. I am on a very low fat diet and I eat very little dairy or wheat.I have become very skinny since this began-- about 2 years ago. My symptoms include stomach pain that moves all over my stomach area after almost every meal, but especially dinner, nausea, bloating, gas, intestinal pain, sore throat, sometimes a feeling of heaviness/pain at my sternum, but I do not have upper right quadrant pain.
Avatar f tn Hi there, So been having problems since May with Right upper pain, nausea, vomitting, weight loss 35 lbs. had all the tests, which all came back clear except the HIDA scan which showed biliary dyskinesia with a normal EF. Both Gi's I have seen have recommended removal as the path I should take. Has anyone had BIliary Dyskinesia with normal EF and how were you after the surgery? Thanks!!
Avatar f tn Mine took over 2 hours to drop into intestines i had an EF of 52% and they diagnosed me with biliary dyskinesia. I have seen 2 GI's and both believe its my gallbladder and not the duct hmmm sounds very similar.
Avatar f tn I have been told that I have this condition but have not had any testing or a comfirmed diagnosis. I have read through some posts on here about this condition an other sites as well and seem to have all the same symptoms and have been suffering for years with it. I also have liver disease. Due to lack of health care/insurance I cannot really pursue it further at this time. My question is this....can I have this condition although I had my gallbladder removed over 10 years ago?
Avatar n tn Do you treat gastric ulcer? Have you got H. pylori test? About gallbladder: you say biliary dyskinesia in the title - this is different than gallblader inflammation - so what's your exact diagnosis, and were the stones seen on ultrasound or CT?
Avatar m tn Significantly decreased gallbladder ejection fraction of 1% consistent with severe biliary dyskinesia. I had no pain or discomfort with the CCK injection. I have an appt with the surgeon in 2 weeks. My questions are: - is surgery indicated in this case? - is there any non-surgical treatment? - I am basically symptom free at this time, should I do surgery (which I am very relunctant) even if I have no symptoms? Thank you very much for your help and advice.
922048 tn?1387942584 Research studies show that there is evidence linking hypothyroidism to biliary dyskinesia or low-functioning gallbladder, as there is delayed emptying of the biliary tract in hypothyroidism. So, wait for the HIDA scan results to plan for therapy. In the meantime eat well balanced meals to promote your health. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
515217 tn?1211455675 Good morning! They removed my gallbladder because I was in pain in the same area along with the nausea. I had an ultra-sound, or something like it done and they were able to see what they thought was one stone. The surgery was done and the doc siad the sac was full of stones. I have had several enodscopic procedures done since and he says they all look good. It has been about 3 years since I've had any test done. Is there anything else I can do for the nausea?
Avatar f tn My four year old was recently diagnosed with biliary dyskinesia after a CCK-HIDA scan revealed his gallbladder ejection fraction to be low, at 30%. Unfortunately, our GI specialist has never dealt with this before in a patient so young, and thus, we have yet to come up with a plan of action. My child's symptoms are not necessarily typical--he has abdominal pain on an almost daily basis, and has had diarrhea (up to 10 times a day) since he was three weeks old.
Avatar m tn I myself had the same pain that brought be to have a HIDA scan. They found biliary dyskinesia for me...
Avatar f tn Sarsi, I have been diagnosed with Biliary Dyskinesia and have a 3.3mm Polyp on the interior wall of my gallbladder. I have had numerous Blood tests, Stool Tests, Abdominal Ultasound, Colonoscopy, Endoscopy (EGD with biopsies),and Flexible Sigmoscopy with biopsies and a Biliary Scan with CCK. Everything has came back normal except for the polyp showing with the Abdominal Ultrasound and the biliary scan with CCK showing 36% EF and I had constant Gallbladder attck pains with the CCK injection.
Avatar m tn This used to happen rarely, maybe once a year, but it has been happening more often and even happened twice in the last to months. I was recently diagnosed with biliary dyskinesia, but given no real information about how this is making me nauseous. I was also told the only possible solution was removing the gallbladder but that it may not even help. Can someone please explain how biliary dyskenia might cause nausea and how removing the gallbladder might help?
922048 tn?1387942584 1.) What are your thoughts on any possible connection between biliary dyskinesia and Hashimoto's/Hypothyroidism (which I have had for several years)? The gallbladder is a gland which needs T3 like the rest of the body does, so if one has very low Free T3 levels, couldn't that contribute to a poorly functioning gallbladder? 2.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with biliary dyskinesia and have been scheduled for surgery December 20, 2010. My question is can this disease be reverse? If I cut back on fats eat more fruits and vegetables, can this correct this problem.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with Biliary Dyskinesia & Cholesterolosis in Mar 2009 and had a cholecystectomy in May 2009. Is it possible that I had this issue for a number of years before it finally took its toll. If that is the case, in what other ways could this issue have masked itself? Testing showed that my gallbladder was only functioning at 10% prior to surgery. I can remember in 2007 having some sharp pinpointing pains in my lower right quadrant that would come and go.
Avatar n tn have you looked into biliary dyskinesia?
Avatar m tn Have any of you had Biliary Dyskinesia (lazy gallbladder)? Could it be causing my fatigue? Did you feel better afterward?
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed bentyl before my gallbladder removal about 4 years ago. My HIDA scan showed a low ejection fraction & I was diagnosed with biliary dyskinesia. I took the bentyl 30 minutes to an hour before meals & ate a low fat diet. The combination of the two definitely reduced the amount of attacks I had, & I stopped having to “go to the bathroom” as often as I did before starting the bentyl.
