amoxil

I'm 33 weeks and have bronchitis. I'm currently taking amoxicillin but need something for the cough. I checked with my doctor and he said plain robitussin. What has any one else taken or home remedies for It to stop (cough)?
In your case antibioitcs for acute or mild chronic infections can be prescribed safely for first line medications like Amoxicillin,Azithromycin where as Tetracyclines are absolutely contraindicated. Other adjunctive medications like nasal decongestants, bronchodilators, anti histaminics etc may have an alternative drugs which are proved to be safe with no minimal side effects in growing infants.
I was on amoxicillin for 5 days (was told bronchitis from doc and given prescrip.), and it didn't do anything...this makes me think it's definitely viral. Right now, it's a stuffy/runny nose, a lingering cough that is usually productive, and a hoarse voice. Is it normal to have a lingering, but substantially BETTER (if that's possible) cough 2.5 weeks after initial symptoms with bronchitis? Should I be concerned? When should I start to be concerned? I've been to the doc once already....
Also, throughout this whole time, my voice has been hoarse/scratchy, and it's STILL (day #17) not normal! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? I was on amoxicillin for 7 days (was told bronchitis from doc and given prescrip.), and it didn't do anything...this makes me think it's definitely viral. Right now, it's a stuffy/runny nose, a lingering cough that is usually productive, and a hoarse voice. Is it normal to have a lingering, but substantially BETTER (if that's possible) cough 2.
Prednisone is often given orally to patients who need to take it for any duration. For instance I use prednisone for a few weeks when my asthma is very bad. In order to get faster relief, the prednisone can be injected into the body. This is done only in the hospital as an emergency basis, because the asthma patient or any patient in respiratory distress is at high risk of death. After that the patient is then given oral prednisone till the lungs have recovered to 80% of their lung function.
I am 30 weeks pg and Friday I went to my fam. doctor for a cold and he said I needed to be on amoxicillin for Bronchitis and a sinus infection. I have been taking Robitussin DM for the constant coughingwhich my Ob said was fine. My question is I have been coughing so much that I popped a blood vesell in one of my eyes. Do you think all the coughing (and I am doing alot of it) is hurting the baby. Or can do any harm. Sorry if the question sounds stupid but I cant help but wonder.

//www.annals.org/cgi/content/abstract/134/6/479 When do I need antibiotics for bronchitis? Almost never. Doc, I can't stop coughing and am bringing up pus. Well, you're not alone. Millions of other people are in your shoes right now, and over 90 per cent of them have viral infections with coughs productive of colored phlegm.
Does anyone know how to or what the ratio would be to take capsules of amoxicillin and other antibiotics and mix with water to administer to kitties?
for the 10 days,he still had a bad cough for a long time that wouldn't go away, and he was having coughing fits. When he was rechecked he had bronchitis. He was given amoxicillin, and a neubulizer with Zephonex to be administered 3 times a day, but he still was having coughing fits. At this point I asked our ped for a referral to an allergenist, because I felt like there had to be something else wrong. The docter happened to also be an asthma docter.
Now on a inhaler to loosen up the cough and Amoxicillin for the rest. Taking Clomid (day 1) tonight.....trying to get around any side effects!

Hi! I have had fairly constant chest pain for the best part of a month. It started randomly one morning, the entire right side of my chest felt like something was pushing from the inside, I would get random twinges of pain in my right shoulder blade and down my arm, and there was intermittent numbness in my right arm. For those few days, I was so tired I could barely stay awake at work, I had to sleep almost sitting up because it felt so heavy, and even the thought of eating nauseated me.
At least 3 times each night we both wake up (alternating times) not being able to breath, choking and gasping for air. We do produce some clear sticky mucus sometimes. Our airways are closing up while sleeping (inclined mind you). Also during waking hours maybe 3-5 times per day this happens. The rest of the time, we're just fine, even during exercise.

and I was told by the heart clinic to get checked for Celiac as well. ( Something to do while I wait for the heart results anyway lol) She also mentioned getting tested for thyroid issues...so many problems out there that mimic heart problems. Steeterwav - That feeling in the back of your throat is called post nasal drip. Mucus runs down from your sinuses into your throat...it can cause you to cough, swallow constantly, clear your throat, etc. The palpitations could be caused by anxiety.
Now I do get weak sometimes anyway (UCTD), I've had issues with shortness of breath for 2 yrs. Smoked for 26 yrs. Been wondering if that shortness of breath is my lungs or just an allergy. Happens easily on exertion or even just walking through the house. It's mild but it's there. (Thanks).
Happened on both Jan 23 and 24th. Think its because of the meds I'm taking for bronchitis. Can't tell if its skipping beats or just irregular. So just noting the unusual occurrences. Obviously, my heart rate is out of normal range, meds probably causing that too.. New meds are Methylprednisolone and Amoxicillin+Clavulanate. possible side affects of the Methylprednisolone includes dizziness which I am experiencing slightly. I called it lightheaded on my chart.
The pain then moved to the other side, and the nose bridge became tender to touch. The nose cartilage itself seems to be infected. Started amoxicillin two days ago (prescribed for the earlier sinus infection). It is starting to feel a little better. I was really worried about staph or MRSP. Glad to know I am not the only one with this bizarre infection. I'm giving it two more days.
My ONC score is 21 so I opted to have 8 treatments , once every three weeks, of CMF chemo for my long term (better results). I have had 4 treatments so far, however, after each infusion I wind up in the Emergency room of my local hospital having to be monitored all night for extreme swelling of my face, throat, tongue. My oncologists are stumped by this reaction, they have never seen it before with CMF chemo.
I'm taking amoxicillin right now for a staph infection.. My dr said it was safe..
I went to a walk in clinic and they swabbed me for strep. I didn't have it. I then went to my family doctor on march 27th, and he said it was a viral infection and i had to let it take its course. He gave me some mouth wash that was supposed to take down the swelling but it didn't work. It's now may 19th, and my tonsils are STILL swollen. I'm very scared, and I don't know what could be causing it. I don't have trouble breathing, I don't have any flu symptoms.
Amoxicillin in the best sort of penicillin treatment to use during the first tri...bc its not harmful...example: for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis during pregnancy they, treat it in the first tri with amoxicillin if it were found later on like second or third tri theyd prescribe a stronger antibiotic!
I get fever and dry cough back and I take the medicine again for another 8 hours relief. Also I'm not able to speak when I take amoxicillin and get very serious head ache. Also, I took TB skin test and was positive, but chest xray and blood reports were negative. I was not given prophylaxis though at the time. I like to know what to do.
our 15 yr old JRT has been coughing and vomiting past 2 days. originally vet thought bronchitis & treat with amoxicillin; however now dog unable to keep any food/fluids/meds down. vet per chest x ray says esophogus is dilated; ? cause. our normally turbo terrier is lethargic; not interested in tube feeding; are there any other alternatives? Vet fears pneumonia due to aspiration.
Both myself and my gf came down recently (13th week from exposure) with bad bronchitis. Lasted 3 days for me and a week for my gf. Can this be connected to recent infection? Ant change in ur assessment. Thanks and his bless you.
I have built up a tolerance to Levequin, Zithromyacin, Amoxicillin, after 9 years of COPD and now have bronchitis. Any suggestions for other potential antibiotics or other ideas?
I was prescribed amoxicillin and I got better. Then, when I had just one dose left of the amoxicillin, I started to get sick again and they gave me the zpack (I've had problems before with recurrent strep). This one turned out to be a virus, but a week later I was still running a fever and went to the doctor. The doctor thought it was bronchitis and gave me biaxin to try and prevent pneumonia (I have an IgA deficiency and have had pneumonia 7 times and I'm 23, 4 cases in the past 3 years).
